[VIDEOS] PTI starts off its Long March

Pakistan is its army. Without Army, there is no Pakistan. Imran is taking on the highest institution in Pakistan.

I remember many of my Pakistani friends defending Pak army as much as they defended Islam. Now the same Pakistanis are blasting their own army to support Imran.

There is a distinction between 99.9pct of the army snd 0.1pct that runs it.

He will be back in power next year. PML-N is the only political party capable of countering Imran, but unfortunately our government has not been able to deliver upto expectations. The people are already against us and their is no chance of anyone winning next year's elections besides Imran.

He wont. He is done and dusted. He has been humiliated and is desperate to come back.

EVen if he does, he wont even have a majority and would be a useless govt as the one he had before.

People in Pakistan have slowly started to realize what a buffoon he was. PMLN cant counter them, they have no candidate.

Dont be surprised if PPP comes out as the winner from all this.

The nexus between our local traitors and our enemies is for all to see.

So wait it’s USA, Pakistan army, Indian media,
Pakistan ruling government, Indian govt, ISI vs Imran Khan :)))

Wow I don’t think any other individual would survive when all those forces come together. True legend.

On topic, why do you guys drag India into this?

People are just asking what is the point of these long marches which disrupt people’s lives like traffic etc. it’s hypocritical people sitting in central ac and wouldn’t face something for themselves cheerleading such things.

It definitely is surreal as a non-Pakistani how people can protest against their own army and intelligence. The argument that general is bad but remaining army people are good is foolish. When you attack the head of an institution, it’s implies that you attacked the institution itself. That’s how army protocol works in any part of the world.

As I said good for you and Imran, I have 0 stake in this but was just curious how the average Pakistani living in Pakistan feels about these protests.

No dog in the fight but what do these long marches accomplish exactly apart from disrupting traffic and day to day life of people.

Then again lot of jobless and ambition-less people in our part of the world so won’t be tough to put together a big crowd.

The purpose of these long marches is to take a city hostage. Its economic terrorism if you ask me.

Faizabad is the connecting area of Islamabad through all other places, they block that and nothing can be moved. People and supply they halt and this causes great economics losses.

Now, who join these marches? People who are free, because when Imran started this back in the summer, no one showed up :)). So its winter, and all you have to do is wear extra clothes or put a bon fire...

But there are 2 things important in marches. One you need funding for it. You need to fund the food and all cost associated with it. They used to give petrol to bikes in the past. Than the cost of the leader, rememeber, Imran is not gonna come in his car or walk with the ordinary, he will use them, he himself will live in a VIP container and pretend as if he is with the people while live in a container with all his necessities being fulfilled.

Second thing required is the local politicians. The local politicians are the ones who bring people, not Imran. Imran will bring people from social media, but its these local people from the mohallas that really matter as they are the more jazbati ones. These people show up when their local leader riles them up. So for example, in Pindi the numbers belong to Sheikh Rasheed, and Rasheed has been scared of Sanaullah that ever since Sanaullah became Interior Minister, Rasheed hasn't step out of his home.

Rasheed has small businesses and has done his time in politics, he doesnt want any trouble as he looks to retire in peace. So he is not helping Imran.

Sanaullah is a cunning person, because he knows from where these people bring the people for protest, so what interior minister (home minister in your language) does is he controls the people form the grass root.

Have you ever heard someone saying Government is good but PM/ President is bad or vice versa?

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan termed the party's criticism of the military establishment a "constructive one" as he marked the beginning of the PTI's long march with a speech, on Friday.

"Our criticism is for your own good," the ex-premier said while addressing the director general Inter-Services Intelligence Agency, in response to yesterday's press talk.

Speaking to cheering crowds at Liberty Chowk, Imran said that unlike Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif he was "not a runaway who would either sit quietly here [in Pakistan] or criticise the military in London".

"I am not going to leave this country. I will live and die in this country," added the PTI chief.

“I want to see a Pakistan that is free, and to have a free country you need a powerful military,” he said, adding that, “if your military is weakened then the country loses its freedom”.

“So DG ISI sir, when we criticize you, we do constructive criticism; we do it for your own good,” said Imran as he noted that “we do not wish to hurt our country”.

"And I repeat myself," he continued, "I could say a lot more, I could even answer you back. But I do not want that the institutions of the country to be weakened".

The PTI chief then named into men who he claimed were military officials and had allegedly torture party leader Azam Swati, who was recently taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Authority's (FIA) cybercrime unit on October 13 for making ‘controversial claims’ against state institutions, including the army chief.

"First they illegally picked up Azam [Swati], beat him up in front of his grandchildren, then he was handed over to the facilitators" of the military officers, Imran claimed. "He was stripped naked, he was tortured," added Imran, "before this, Shehbaz Gill was picked up in the same manner".

"I ask you this one question today," Imran said referring to the COAS, "when the ISI commander in Karachi did some injustice and Bilawal Bhutto gave a statement against it, you removed him." "Remove them too" demanded Imran, "remove them both".

"They both are defaming you General Bajwa. When they picked up Azam Swati, what was written in newspapers all over the world? That Pakistan's 75 year-old senator was picked up, suffered custodial torture, all because he tweeted against the military".

"Pakistan was shamed across the globe," added the PTI chief, "our democracy was turned into a joke and the military was maligned."

The PTI chief also said that the march will remain confined to the designated areas that "they have allowed us in Islamabad".

"We will not break any laws," he said, "nobody will go to the red zone. For the past 26 years we have always followed the law and the Constitution. Our protests are always peaceful".

Icchra address

Later in the day, addressing the long march participants in Ichhra, Lahore, Imran Khan said that the handlers of the "imported government" must listen that an "ocean of people" was coming to the federal capital.

"Until I don't get my nation real freedom and free them from US slavery, I will not rest," he roared.

The PTI chief said that those who used to live in Gawalmandi now behave as if they were relatives of the queen of England. "This nation has decided that they would prefer dying than remain slaves of these thieves. This is the time we rid this nation of thieves and make it a free country forever," he added.

Imran said that until society doesn't rise for justice, it can never become prosperous. "Western countries have rule of law and justice. Azam Swati and Shahbaz Gill can never be tortured in those countries as the law protects them," he added.

The former prime minister also said that Pakistani prisons were at full capacity but with thieves with petty crimes and the ‘real thieves’ are appointed as prime ministers.

PTI supporters gather at Liberty Chowk

The PTI chief arrived at Liberty Chowk on Friday afternoon, welcomed by a sea of party supporters.

The party's activists and supporters were converging in droves at Lahore's Liberty Chowk, as the party geared up to launch its 'Haqeeqi Azadi March' from there.

The march, being held to pressure the government into announcing a date for fresh elections, will reach Islamabad by next Friday and has begun moving forwards.

Party chief Imran Khan's container reached Liberty Chowk shortly before he arrived at the site of the march to officially kick it off.

Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid said he would be joining the march today as well, and expressed optimism that "the nation will come out" and that "an election date would be acquired".

Echoing Rashid's optimism, senior party leader Shireen Mazari emphatically stated that even the highest authorities will be compelled to announce an election date if the nation marched to Islamabad.

“We are even more energised after yesterday’s press conference,” Mazari said in response to a question if yesterday’s unprecedented press talk, by the chiefs of the country’s premier intelligence agency and the military’s media wing, had dampened their spirit.

PTI leader Hammad Azhar shared that he was already making his way to the meeting point.

Supporters could be seen riding along his car on their motorcycles carrying party flags.

Meanwhile, Yasmeen Rashid was also seen rallying support ahead of the march.

She was also reportedly making her way to Liberty.

Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry had urged Lahore's citizens to come out onto the streets and join the march, saying "if you do not come out today, then you should not have any complaints about this system".

"If you want to change this system, come out of your homes. Your childrens' lives will otherwise also be spent in this rotten system," he warned.

Interior minister warns of 'strict action'

Earlier in the day, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah warned that those who “attack” the federal capital will be "met with such dire consequences that no one will ever think of committing such an act again”.

While speaking to the media in Islamabad, the minister said that the government was prepared to deal with anyone attempting to break the law with an iron fist.

Warning protestors of "strict action", Sanaullah said "if they [protestors] abide by the law, we will facilitate them".

"We will fulfill our responsibility according to the situation. If they are coming to march on Islamabad, they should understand that no group will be allowed to march on Ithe capital".

He urged the nation to reflect on "this kind of thinking", adding that "a lot has been revealed about the case of Arshad Sharif. Who helped him go abroad, who issued the false threat alert". He also said that the full report on the matter will be presented before Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On the question of potentially imposing governor raj in Punjab, the interior minister said that the issue rested with the Cabinet. However, he added that "if any such situation arises, I will move a summary".

It may also be noted that during a hearing at the Supreme Court (SC) over the PTI's May 25 March, the CJP had said that the march was the party’s political strategy, and everyone had the right to protest, but not be violent or damage public property. He had added that the government had the authority to take action against the violation of law.

Acknowledging the SC's orders, Sanaullah said that the government would abide by the law, but added that democracy will be compromised if "mob culture" was allowed to continue to grow in the country.

The interior minister made these comments while standing outside a court in Rawalpindi. "Two days ago Imran Khan said that these people could not arrest Rana Sanaullah, the Punjab government has failed".

He said that today the anti-corruption unit has withdrawn the warrant. "It was a shameful example of political revenge. Imran Khan should dismiss the Punjab government," he said.

Commenting on the press conference by the DG ISPR and DG ISI yesterday (Thursday), Sanaullah said that "if an institution is accused of something then it has the right to present its position with the permission of the head".

He also said that "DG ISI's conference helped the nation a great deal; a false narrative was rejected".

A day earlier, the interior minister had said the PTI could stage its long march at the federal capital’s sectors H-9 and G-9 as allocated by courts, but its participants were restricted from entering the Red Zone, which would be protected by Rangers and Pak Army personnel.

Security preparations

Meanwhile, political tension is growing in the country as Islamabad was put on high alert after former prime minister Imran Khan had on Tuesday announced to hold the long march, demanding the government call fresh general elections.

The government has also started preparations to deploy thousands of security personnel to block Imran's supporters from entering the capital.

According to officials, the interior ministry has already decided to deploy around 30,000 police, rangers, and para-military troops in Islamabad and not allow protesters to enter the red-zone area near the parliament building.

President’s House, Prime Minister's House, ministers’ offices, parliament, and other important buildings, including foreign embassies, are located in the red-zone area.

With forces about to roll into Islamabad and the government on an anxious vigil, the scenario had cast the nation’s capital back to a familiar state of affairs witnessed on the eve of PTI’s May 25 long march that saw intense showdown and crackdown.

According to a notice issued by the interior ministry on Wednesday, the Islamabad police have completed their preparation for the long march.

The notice stated that a total of 13,086 officers, including two deputy inspector generals of police, four senior superintendents of police and 11 superintendents of police will be posted at the long march venue. Thirty assistant superintendents of police and deputy superintendents of police will also be posted.

Moreover, 4,265 Frontier Corps officers, 3,600 Rangers personnel and 1,022 policemen from the Sindh police will be on duty during the march.

The authorities had also sent hundreds of containers into Islamabad to barricade all entry points before the arrival of demonstrators.

The officers will be provided 616 tear gas guns, 50,050 shells, 611 twelve-bore guns and 36,700 rounds. Likewise, 2,430 masks and 374 vehicles will also be given to the police.

All police officers and personnel have been instructed to remain unarmed.

Furthermore, on the direction of the interior ministry, the Pakistan Railways (PR) prepared a list of 400 railway police personnel to thwart the long march.

The ministry had asked for a force of 2,000 personnel from the railway police authorities, sources said but added that due to the lack of enough personnel, only 400 personnel from all eight divisions of the railways could be gathered.

PTI’s NOC application rejected

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Friday turned down Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) application seeking permission to hold a sit-in and public rally in the capital.

While rejecting the PTI’s NOC application, the Islamabad’s district administration issued a new letter to the party, in which the administration stated that the party had violated the NOC that was provided to it on May 25.

The letter stated that in order to hold a public rally in the capital, PTI is bound to satisfy the administration by submitting, in writing that there would be no violation of the NOC this time.

“It is stated that section 144 Cr PC is imposed on all kinds of public gatherings in the Federal Capital including in & around the Red Zone. Furthermore, the instant application has been examined at length in the context of previous NOCs/ permissions issued by the undersigned upon submission of undertakings by you. Whereas, it is imperative to mention here that on numerous occasions, various clauses of terms & conditions were violated,” stated the letter.

The letter further questioned PTI to explain as to why the NOC for the public sit-in should be issued, despite the violations in the past.

“Keeping in view the following violations of undertakings submitted by PTI and the past record, please explain (point wise) why the party instant application may be considered favourably and may not be rejected.”

It further added that “On May, 25 2022 it was decided that you will convene Jalsa at H-9 (in-front of Metro depot) Islamabad but you failed to adhere to the agreement and the protesters moved towards the Red Zone of Islamabad. For July 2nd, 2022, public gathering NOC was issued by the civil administration upon submission of consent / undertaking by you that being organiser you will be responsible of any damage caused to the public property (clause 9), However, a sustainable damage was caused to the public property and liabilities are still pending”.

The letter concluded by stating that “On June, 30th 2022, you agreed to install CCTV cameras at the venue but you failed to do so, which is sheer violation of clause 34 of agreed terms & conditions. During the last gathering, steamers and banners were installed without prior permission of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad which was removed by the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.”

It is pertinent to note that a day earlier, the Islamabad’s district administration contacted the PTI leadership, ahead of the beginning of the PTI’s long march.

The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad summoned a special meeting in this regard, which had senior PTI leader Dr Babar Awan, and PTI Islamabad President Ali Nawaz Awan in attendance.

During the meeting, Ali Nawaz Awan requested the DC Islamabad to take necessary measures especially related to security for the peaceful public gathering.

However, despite the rejection of the NOC request, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf today kicked off its long march, under the leadership of chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan from Liberty Chowk, Lahore.

March plan

The march’s commencement date was announced on Tuesday by Imran. “We will gather at Liberty Chowk at 11am on Friday, and set off for Islamabad,” he had said.

“We will stay peaceful. If any disruption comes, it would be from the other side, not ours. We are aiming for soft revolution. We are not going to Islamabad to create any mischief,” Imran assured, adding that despite all his peaceful intentions he was ready for arrest as well.

According to the party’s plans, the march will commence from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on Friday (today) and will reach Rawat by November 3, where the leadership will decide on the next course of action. The first priority of the party would be to hold a public rally, whereas the second priority would be to turn the protest into a sit-in.

You are the face of the hypocrites on the forum.
When Billo was doing his long march, where was you? The fact that even the stray dogs of PK ignored him is irrelevent, Fazlu was doing one each Month. He claimed Bajwa promised that Iks govt would fall. And suddenly your getting worried. It doesn't have to be this way. Call an election but you won't because you have no support and never did.
What did Javed Latif mean by stating that they were forced into power? By whom and why? And you claim the Bajwa is neutral and there was no coup.

As mentioned above, if the head of the institution is bad it is taken as an insult to the institution.

Have you ever heard someone saying Government is good but PM/ President is bad or vice versa?

Our army will recover from these rogues. The army normally has its finger on the pulse of the public. That's why previous coups succeeded but Bajwa overplayed his hand and got blackmailed by Nani, who had vids of important people, her words not mine. Who those important people are is the question? Well we know

The army won't recover , the country is a complete basket case and army is tarnished.

They will attacks this march like general sisi or president assad and Country will decend into full on civil war .

He is right that the agenda of the international puppeteers was to get the clown elected. But the clown has no support and relies on his wadera killing opponents in Sindh. BTW did you see his grovelling apology after he got worked up a little too much in the Asma Jahangir Conference and then realised that his handlers weren't happy. The clown is such a coward

They made arshad sharif flee by using ttp threat.

The establishment are now trying to blame ik , kpk goverment , rogue elements of mqm linked to ary salman iqbal

This is what this establishment does commits crimes and then builds a narrative that others are traitors.

They did same in tribal areas they caused the war themselves by signing up to war on terror and getting American aid and then allowed usa to kill and maim 1000s of pakistanis with drones when the tribals resisted under ttp umbrella They built the narrative these people are indian agents traitors etc .

Leaders of the ruling coalition parties slammed PTI chief Imran Khan for “creating chaos and unrest” and “breaking the Constitution” as the former premier began a march towards the capital on Friday.

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb tweeted that the nation had rejected the PTI’s march by “refusing to become a slave to the unconstitutional, foreign-funded” person and “pawns in someone’s lust for power”.

The PTI’s march began a day after the country’s spymaster appeared in public for the first time, saying he could not remain silent when the “institutions” were being targeted. He spoke at a presser alongside the military’s spokesperson.

That presser, according to Climate Minister Sherry Rehman, exposed Mr Khan’s “game of lies”. Imran Khan’s “politics of lies and deceit has been exposed”, showing how he could sacrifice the country’s interests for his “greed for power”, she said at a press conference on Friday.

“PTI’s march is not a long march, but a short march. If he wants to do a long march, he should have started from Karachi,” she said.

“They ask us why we have put blockades all over the capital. Do they want us to leave the capital open for them so they can harm the institutions as they did with PTV in 2014?” the minister wondered.

She alleged that the PTI chief wanted things to escalate, so he could find a legitimate excuse to cross into the red zone.

Referring to Mr Khan, she said: “Every day you are telling a lie with the hope that it becomes a truth. This is a thinking of a fascist demagogue and not someone who believes in the institution of democracy.”

‘Chaos and unrest’

Syed Hasan Murtaza, PPP’s parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly, also criticised Mr Khan for launching yet another march on Islamabad aimed at “creating chaos and unrest in the country”.

In a statement issued on Friday, he said that under the guise of the haqeeqi azadi (real freedom) march, PTI Chairman wanted to break free from the Constitution and the law of the land.

Mr Murtaza, who also serves as general secretary of PPP’s central Punjab chapter, claimed that PTI leaders had themselves admitted that revelations made in the military’s presser were true, including a disclosure that the former premier offered an indefinite extension to the army chief in March, ahead of a confidence vote in parliament in April.

‘March to fizzle out in week’

In Faisalabad, the former state minister and PML-N’s central leader Talal Chaudhry said on Friday that PTI’s march was actually a muafi (apology) march and would fizzle out within a week “without producing any results”, the APP news agency reported.

Mr Chaudhry, addressing a press conference, also took exception to the Punjab government for allegedly using official sources “to make the long march successful”.

However, he said the PTI’s march would not lead to its desired revolution, as its organisers and participants “are afraid of police officials”.

PTI leaders asked to explain why NOC to hold sit-in should be issued
The capital administration has sought an explanation from PTI leaders over violations of terms and conditions during its previous public gathering in Islamabad and questioned why the fresh request for the upcoming long march should not be rejected on this ground.

Moreover, PTI leaders have been asked to clarify which areas they will gather in and told that the fundamental rights of other citizens must not be violated.

Likewise, they have been asked to inform the administration the time of calling off the sit-in, the tentative number of participants and what will be the exact route through which participants of the long march will enter Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD HOTELS BARRED FROM HOSTING PTI LONG MARCHERS

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police Saturday barred hotels from hosting Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) long march participants, ARY News reported.

As per details, Islamabad police issued a notice to hotels and guest house owners and asked them to not host long march participants.

In an attempt to stop the PTI long march from entering into Pakistan, the federal government has ensured to take all the necessary measures with the help of city administration and law enforcement agencies.

According to the police, all the hotels and guest houses in Islamabad will be thoroughly checked on daily basis. If anyone is found violating the orders the city police will take strict action.

Earlier, the Imran Khan-led PTI long march, which kicked off from Liberty Chowk after Friday prayers, will resume its journey towards the federal capital at 11 am from Lahore’s Shahdara today.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan halted the long march at the end of the first day of the anti-government protest. The long march ended at Shahdara after passing through the Ferozepur Road, Icchra and Mozang.

Addressing the participants of the march at the Data Darbar, Lahore, Imran Khan said that he knew that Lahore would never disappoint him. “We are concluding our Islamabad-bound journey for today. The long march would resume its journey towards the federal capital at 11 am from Shahdara on Saturday,” he announced.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted Federal Cabinet Committee to tackle the PTI’s long march towards Islamabad led by former prime minister Imran Khan, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The cabinet body will be headed by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and comprises of nine members. The committee for long march has been constituted to maintain the law and order and hold political dialogue.

Imran reiterated his demand for “immediate fair elections” adding that, “no one could prevent that”.

He also asserted that his party would remain within the bounds of the law and the Constitution during the march. “However, protesting is my right. The Constitution permits me to peacefully protest,” he said.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan on Saturday said 'no one' could stop the long march to Islamabad as the party geared up on the second day to resume the march from Lahore's Shahdara area.

It happened to tlp once khadim rizvi died and the son was arrested the movement turned into a damp squib.

This is how it will probably end. It will blow the wind out of everyone's sails for a while. Until the next khan arises. A younger hungrier less compromising khan. And that khan will burn everything down. It is better to negotiate with this one so that a peaceful resolution can be done. It will be best for the neutrals too.

If they kill him they will sow the seeds for a conflagration that will burn this region to the ground.

Remember we are not that dissimilar to our neighbours. Some things mirror each other. We are long over due our Modi. And he will not be like theirs.

ISLAMABAD: The interior ministry on Saturday extended the capital’s Red Zone area up to Faisal Avenue from Attaturk Avenue to protect key installations against any threat in view the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) long march scheduled to reach the federal capital on Nov 4.

The ministry also banned gatherings and rallies inside the relevant areas, sources said, adding that Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had been imposed in the Red Zone.

They said the component areas of Red Zone would now stretch from Ataturk Avenue to Faisal Avenue, Khayaban-i-Iqbal to Margalla Road and Serena Chowk to Zero Point.

Earlier, the Red Zone would comprise areas west of the intersection of Third Avenue and Murree Road, including China embassy; south of University Road up to the Fourth Avenue; south of Khayaban-i-Iqbal from Fourth Avenue up to Ataturk Avenue; east of Ataturk Avenue up to Jinnah Avenue; east of Embassy Road up to Khayaban-i-Suhrawardi; north of Dhokri Chwok (Convention Centre Chowk on Srinagar Highway up to intersection of Murree Road and Third Avenue).

So motives of all parties is dubious. Imran, Army and PDM. And that's fine. This is politics. But Imran seems to have people's mandate. I guess Imran senses that at present he has best opportunity. Otherwise purely in terms of constitution elections need not be held now. I guess IK also knows that more time passes by, there is greater probability of interferences.

This now is a Mexican standoff. And you know usually what outcome of that is. IK has popularity but the relationship with establishment is irreconcilable and master in US may not accept him. Establishment knows that's it's losing confidence of the people but if it sides with IK, IK will be the alpha in the room, the undisputed leader of Pakistan. PDM know that they have a window when things are flux. If they lose power now and if IK remains in good shape, they are out for next 10 years.

Fourth element is economy which has been crashed by years of elite establishment and corrupt / inept power structures. Got to say, just rationally speaking, I don't see good outcome. The power struggle might suffocate the life out of Pakistan.

was with the Pakistan Army and wants it “to be strong”.

The former premier made these comments during his address on the third day of the 'Haqeeqi Azadi' march to Islamabad.

During the speech, Imran maintained that whenever "we criticise the army it is always constructive criticism".

The former ruling party has been critical of the security establishment with Imran criticising the director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), whose Thursday press conference he had been denouncing during his address on the first and second day of the march.

In his message to the establishment today, Imran, however, refrained from his criticism of the DG ISI.

"India don’t misunderstand, we stand with our army," he said, adding that the neighbouring country was celebrating after DG ISI’s press conference as it believes that the army and Imran Khan are having "a face-off".

"I want to tell India that this army is ours and I can never be against it," the former prime minister said.

He furthered that: “When General [Pervez] Musharraf removed these two corrupt parties [PML-N and PPP] people distributed sweets… because people were tired of their theft.”

“But when General Musharraf gave a NRO to these thieves… he caused us more harm than our enemies,” he claimed.

Referring to the country’s establishment, the ex-PM said “you made cases on these people. You told everyone how corrupt [they] are. Your joint investigation report [JIT] proved how corrupt Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari are.”

He added that “if today you tell us that now you have decided to side with these thieves”, the people will not accept it.

“Don’t think that we are sheep… We have a right to differentiate between right and wrong. If you stand with these thieves, the people will not stand with you,” he maintained.

The PTI chief went on to say that he wants to see the army as a “strong institution” and wants the people to stand with them.

Security being tightened on all roads to Islamabad ahead of PTI march
New steps taken after Gandapur’s alleged audio leak about arrangements for weapons just outside Islamabad to take on LEAs

ISLAMABAD: The administration of the federal capital has decided to fully secure all non-traditional passages linking Islamabad from adjoining areas from tomorrow (Tuesday) in the wake of the PTI long march that is supposed to reach outskirts on Thursday.

For the purpose, trained snipers would be deployed across the Margalla Hills and adjacent hilly areas making the borderline of the federal capital. It will make the criminal movement through the routes impossible. The new and stringent steps have been taken in view of Ali Amin Gandapur’s audio leak regarding arrangements for weapons in a huge quantity just outside Islamabad for taking on law enforcement agencies.

Well-placed sources told The News that trained and highly skillful snipers were being deployed at these places for the first time since some PTI leaders are planning to use war tactics. The audio tape of Gandapur has sent across a wave of fear and harassment in Islamabad. “The administration is determined to keeping the city free of any fear and threat during all these days. Every possible step would be taken to assure peace and order of the city,” sources added.

They said the diplomatic community of the capital was scared of the situation and it had shared their fears with officials concerned. The expansion of the Red Zone to Abpara has also been lauded by the people of Islamabad. The diplomatic community has also hailed the initiative since it would keep the possible turbulent areas away from their facilities. In the meanwhile, DIG Operations Islamabad Sohail Zafar Chatta has instructed the police and FC officials to be highly alert and ready to deal with any situation. He met police and FC officers on Sunday who were on duty and maintained that the law enforcement agencies would take every possible measure to protect the lives and property of citizens as well as private and commercial property and were ready to thwart adventurism from anti-state elements.

He said that all the officers were putting in their best efforts to maintaining the law and order in the capital. He vowed that Islamabad Capital Police would never allow anyone to disturb the peaceful environment of the city and take all necessary steps to protect the lives and property of the citizens and private and commercial properties. All officers have been instructed to stay vigilant in their respective areas and brief the personnel time to time to deal with any situation and check the duties of the Jawans themselves. On the instructions of the high command all personnel posted on duty would be sent with riot gear. The officers of law enforcement agencies visited different areas of the city to ensure implementation of the special guidelines.

The News PK

The PTI has asked the Islamabad administration to immediately issue an NOC for the sit-in, otherwise, the delay would amount to contempt of court.

According to Express News, PTI has responded to the Islamabad administration's letter to determine the location of its meeting or sit-in in Islamabad.

The letter has been answered by PTI Islamabad President Ali Nawaz Awan.

The letter states that the Islamabad administration had requested some information from PTI Islamabad on October 28 through a letter.

Awan has further said that the delay on the part of the administration would amount to contempt of court.

The former ruling party is currently staging a long march against the incumbent government, which it says came to power through an alleged foreign conspiracy.

This is the second long march the party is staging this year, after its first attempt to push the government into announcing a date for early elections failed on May 25.

After months of delaying the call for the protest march, the PTI Chairman finally announced the date for the march last week, and Imran, along with his supporters set off for Islamabad on October 28.

The long march is scheduled to reach Islamabad in a few days. The former ruling party has said that it aims to persuade the government to give a date for early elections through peaceful means.

The government, on the other hand, has expressed its willingness to respond promptly if anyone broke the law.

It is also worth noting here that the Supreme Court (SC) has already shown restraint in granting the federal government's request to stop the long march.

Addressing the charged participants of the march, Imran Khan thanked the people of Kamoke for their overwhelming support.

Taking on the CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja, the former prime minister alleged that the ECP’s chief is acting like a ‘servant’ of the Sharif family. He also announced filing an Rs10 billion defamation case against the chief election commissioner of Pakistan.

Police make formal request for extension in Red Zone area in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Monday formally made a request to the local administration to extend the Red Zone from Ataturk Avenue to Faisal Avenue upto Zero Point in a move to formalise a decision which the Ministry of Interior had already taken a couple of days back in the wake of the PTI’s long march.

The request has been made by Inspector General of Police (IGP) to the deputy commissioner through a letter, sources told Dawn.

The letter states that the senior superintendent of police (operations) in a recent meeting had recommended extension in the limits of the earlier notified area of “Red Zone” on the grounds that the a number of sensitive security installations, state institutions and head offices of private enterprises are located in sectors F-6, G-6, F-6, F-7 and E-7, including “residences/foreign missions and offices of diplomats”.

“The main business district of the capital and important business centers, Islamabad Stock Exchange, etc., are located outside the existing limits of the notified Red Zone area,” it says, adding major public and private health facilities also fall in the areas which need to be kept operational round the clock for people living in the existing Red Zone. It further says that “all routes leading to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and new Islamabad High Court building also need to be secured besides other state buildings.”

The IGP office has suggested to include the following areas in the extended Red Zone:

Faisal Avenue and Fazal-i-Haq Road from Khyaban Chowk to Express Chowk; Expressway Highway from Faisal Mosque Chowk to Zero Point; Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Dhokri Chowk to the end of merging point of the road coming from Bhara Kahu and leading to Kashmir Chowk; Club Road from Dhokri Chowk to Kashmir Chowk, including Convention Centre and nearby residential area.

No processions or sit-ins shall be allowed in Red Zone as preferred locations for any peaceful activities, involving large gatherings are out of this newly extended Red Zone of the capital, says the letter.

The interior ministry has already banned gatherings and rallies inside the relevant areas through imposition of Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

In October 2012, the then interior minister had decided to extend the Red Zone from Ataturk Avenue 5 to Ataturk Avenue 6 as part of precautionary measures against threats to the installations located in the important area. However, later the decision could not be implemented when some departments, including police, showed their reservations.

The Red Zone was earlier located in the limits of Secretariat police station and after the extension it now includes areas in the jurisdiction of Kohsar and Aabpara police stations and following the zone’s expansion the responsibility of security would be shared by three SHOs and two sub-divisional police officers.

Imran says he will be going to Sindh, tells Zardari to ‘get ready’

In his first address of the day in Gujranwala, Imran also told former president and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari to “get ready” for his arrival in Sindh.

“I am coming after you to Sindh,” he said, adding that the “people of Sindh needed freedom the most”.

Nawaz, I will defeat you in your own constituency: Imran

PTI chief Imran Khan has fired broadsides at Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari in his first speech on day five of his march to Islamabad.

"Nawaz Sharif I challenge you: when you come back, I will beat you in your constituency!" he thundered to cheers in Gujranwala.

The clown and his circus show returns to Islamabad. I have to travel there on Saturday to attend a wedding. Hopefully it won’t be a problem.

Apart from making people’s lives difficult and getting some killed, he will achieve nothing.

Last time around, he ran away after 1 day and his supporters were left confused and stranded - they didn’t know if they should stay or go back. Let’s see how long he lasts this time.

After IK wins a majority in the next election, you’ll come out saying that you voted for PTI just like last time.

Its amazing to see how popular he is!

Elections will happen sooner than later and then its the end game for some.

If I vote for a different party I will say it. I don’t have to hide it from anyone: I voted for the fake messiah in 2018 because I wanted to give him a chance to see if he has learned from his mistakes.

We were told that PTI did a trial run in KP from 2013-18 and were ready for federal rule. However, he ended up destroying the country and proved to be the worst PM in Pakistan history.

His game is over. He took on a battle that he cannot win and his own past is now coming back to haunt him. The Foreign Funding case will be his end.

Imran supporters can cry all the want, but he will never become the PM again. The military will ensure that and they are already regretting their decision to back him.

His popularity graph is unmatched. In Pakistan being this popular is also not good regardless he at the moment sways public opinions which is a massive power to hold.

India will always maintain a large and expensive military as they feel threatened by China. So they will do that regardless of a resolution over kashmir. Meanwhile, Pakistan's army would lose their supreme importance.

Look at Bangladesh - their GDP is greater than Pakistan's now I believe and their earnings per capita. Democracy rules there.

Nothing is for always! Bangladesh may be better then Pak today but even that is not forever. It is your wish that Pakistan military will lose it's supremacy like it's my belief that India will break in to paces within the next ten years. Look at all the insurgencies within India that is also another reason for India too worry about. In the next Indo-China war the Chinese will be fighting with robots, they are so far ahead of India in military warfare that it is funny.

Nothing is for always! Bangladesh may be better than Pak today but even that is not forever. It is your wish that Pakistan military will lose its supremacy like it's my belief that India will break in to paces within the next ten years. Look at all the insurgencies within India that is also another reason for India to worry about. In the next Indo-China war the Chinese will be fighting with robots, they are so far ahead of India in military warfare that it is funny.

May I ask what is your source for all these insurgencies you hear about India and it breaking into pieces?

Fantasies don’t count.

Also introspect Bangladesh “might be better than Pak today” statement you made yourself.

It’s because Bangladesh got a lot of things right which Pakistan didn’t. It’s not because of some fluke.

Have you not heard of the situation in IoK and many Sikh's who want Khlaistan? This is just for starters then in addition there are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separatist_movements_of_India and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurgency_in_Northeast_India

Bangladesh is not surrounded by a war zone like Afghanistan. This is greatly the reason why Pak has become what it is today nevertheless as the Qur'an says "after hardship there is ease". India itself is hardly heaven on earth that it's subjects mock Pakistan.

This is the same Pakistan that was doing so well in the 1960's and 1970's before the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. That is where our downfall began a problem that Bangladesh didn't ever have.

Imran says when marchers reach Islamabad, capital police with side with him

Firing broadsides at Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, PTI chief Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the PML-N leader’s “time has come now”.

“There isn’t any more time left now. I know you are sweating now […] Sanaullah, you and Shehbaz Sharif […] These rats are threatening us.

“Listen to me, when we reach Islamabad […] listen to me Sanaullah […] when we reach Islamabad […] the police you are spending millions on will join us because they too are against thieves,” he said.

I only hope the police and military side with IK and the marchers. If not then we could have a civil war in our capital.

Govt bars K-P police personnel from participating in PTI's long march
Directives issued to all officers preventing them from joining 'Azadi March' in accordance with federal govt orders

PESHAWAR:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) police on Tuesday issued instructions to all officers against participating in the long march being held by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

A letter, issued to all officers, stated that as per the directions of the federal government, all government employees have categorically been prohibited from becoming participants in the protest.

The instructions stated that no K-P police official will be permitted to enter Punjab except on official duty during the 'Haqeeqi Azadi March' and that they were restricted from becoming participants in the protest and sit-in.

“No policeman shall trespass within his jurisdiction and policemen shall be confined to their duty as per law,” stated the directives.

The PTI's march resumed on the fifth day today from Gujranwala as it inched closer to the federal capital.

Meanwhile, the schedule for PTI's march to enter the most sensitive areas of Rawalpindi has been finalised according to which the participants of the long march will enter the garrison city from T-Chowk Rawat instead of the Islamabad Expressway, under the leadership of party chairman Imran Khan.

On the other hand, the federal government on Monday had extended the Red Zone till Zero Point in Islamabad, Express News reported.

As per details, Faisal Avenue, Margalla Road, Bari Imam and Fifth Avenue have also been declared part of the no-protest area.

The district administration stated that Section 144 will remain imposed in the areas declared as Red Zone, adding that no rally or public gathering will be allowed in the extended area.

PTI Chairperson Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the people of Pakistan need to "stand up for their rights" as he resumed the party's 'Haqeeqi Long March' from Gujranwala on Day 6.

"Justice is only given in human society and you will have to support me. It is better to die than be a slave," said the PTI chairperson.

I have heard he has delayed the circus show in Islamabad. Clearly saving himself from embarrassment because he does not have the numbers.

Mashallah!

He embarrassed your leaders at every opportunity at the by elections despite the state machinery working against him. Accuse him of every thing but not having the numbers is the last thing

Cult-leaders always have the numbers. Besides, there is no shortage of unemployed and unproductive people in Pakistan who have nothing better to do than attend these circus shows for days.

Those who are studying, working, running businesses etc. cannot afford to be a part of these circus shows across the country.

The point I am trying to make is that the fake messiah currently does not have the numbers to back his claim that this is going to be the biggest rally this country has ever seen.

He made a big claim but realized that right now he doesn’t have the numbers to back the claim, so he decided to save himself from embarrassment and delay the invasion of Islamabad.
