[VIDEOS] Sharjeel Khan - Post-comeback Performance Watch

We need this X1 for T20 WC (in this specific order ) :

Sharjeel
Fakhar
Babar
Sarfaraz (c)
Imad
Malik/ Iftikhar Ahmed
Hafeez
Shadab
Harris Rauf/Shaheen/ Naseem
Amir
Wahab/ Faheem

Hafeez and Malik should assume role of power hitting at the depth. Rather than playing 20 balls 21 runs type of innings in middle which helps in nothing..Sarfaraz and Imad should play up the order, so that they can take more responsibility with the bat (They hided too much in lower order in last 2/3 years) Only concern is , we might have a bowler short. If fakhar can improve a bit of his bowling and give us 2 decent overs, It will become more balanced. Australia pitches these years are pretty flat (WC 2015), and give us lots of runs, we can not have batsman who blocks a lot and takes lot of time to settle, that is why we need Fakhar/Sharjeel/Babar (in any order) in top 3

Major worry for many fans was Sharjeel after ban won't be the same he was in 2017 but he showed that his reflexes his shot making ability is still there.

The significance of his innings are he was pulling 140 clicks per hour deliveries by Hasan Ali into the stands. His strike rate was above 200. He scored just 19 but he has made his presence felt. If he wants to join Pakistan team he needs to make big scores throughout PSL or else it won't be easy for him to return to Pakistan national team this year.

Is not Babar the permanent Captain now?

Ideally he won't represent Pakistan again. How are you allowed to fix than people are begging for these players to be selected? If you fix a game or are involved spot fixing you shouldn't be representing Pakistan again. No wonder Pakistan players aren't worried about being punished for fixing.

Amir.

Big mistake. Should have never played for Pakistan again. We have set a bad precedent by selecting him again.

Not for the fans.
He was a small (but quite significant) reason why we won the champions trophy and that meant a lot to the people

If you want a blitzkrieg of runs, have the top six as Babar, Sharjeel, Kamran, Malik, Iftikhar and Asif. Fakhar would be on the bench. I only put Malik to steady the innings, he's been doing pretty good but you could easily move Ifti and Asif up the order. Would have had Umar Akmal instead but no-one knows what the hell happened there, if he's clean i'd still take the risk if we want to go boom or bust.

He did his time and served his ban, the length of which was proportionate to his misgiving. What's the problem? Do you believe in indefinite punishments for all kinds of errors or just the ones which upset you in particular?

Didn't get much of the strike which didn't help him at all.

Soft dismissal.

Big ask for him to comeback and perform at good level straight away and that too in PSL which arguably has the best bowling attacks in the world.

I would give him the whole tournament before passing judgement (just hope the team management and owner have the patience to stick with him).

Controversial kind of an innings by him today. Was waiting to watch him bat again and he has played similar innings after which he was banned for 3 years.
He was middling the bowl fine but did not play his natural game and rhe way he got out was very unlike him. Neverhave I seen him getting softly dismissed like this before.

He can play domestic cricket and T20 leagues. Just shouldn't be playing for Pakistan.

Agree with all except Asif, i'd prefer even Hafeez. Asif had his chance in the 50 over WC and dropped us out of the group stage.

Even despite Sharjeel's flop today i'm hopeful he'll come good. He only needs to hit 20/30 runs at 150 or better to have done his job. A few more innings like yesterday's and i think he could slot back into the spot vacated by Fakhar.

Still extremely overrated. Still cannot play anything that moves an inch and his fitness is as pathetic as ever.

He was getting hyped on the back of one PSL hundred and a couple of inconsequential half-centuries in Australia where he kept throwing his wicket away and failed to score big.

Our fans were hyping him over the last few years out of sheer desperation. He is no messiah who will save our Limited Overs batting. Clearly does not deserve to be part of the WT20 squad.

I think without support the fifties were useless, but if we have Kamran, Babar and one other performer each match the quick thirty-odd scores would be gold-dust. The PSL keeps editing my team but at the moment i'd go with Babar, Kamran, Hafeez, Malik, Iftikhar and Asif with Sharjeel and Khushdil on the bench. With Imad and Shadab at seven and eight the batting would be pretty strong for once and with Hafeez, Malik and Ifti all as extra bowling options it's a win-win.

Showed his fitness in fielding last night

Looked a bit better today.

Some brilliant shots mixed in with losses of concentration.

Pakistan can’t win the T20 wc like they did a decade ago because our bowlers are trash. We can’t defend 150 like we could back then, or restrict below 150

Our best shot is to take these blokes who are willing to play hard and try to propel us to 170+ scores.

121 , excellent from Sharjeel

Sharjeel Khan is a must but... He too must improve his fitness little bit... But I would now take him over Imam Abid Fakhar in t20s and even ODIs ...any day

From PCB Report:

Sindh’s Sharjeel Khan recorded a first-class century after almost seven years, blasting 121 runs from 126 balls against Southern Punjab at the National Stadium, which took his team’s second innings lead to 278.

Sharjeel brought up his century in 99 balls and stitched a 130-run stand for the third wicket with Saud Shakeel, who is unbeaten on 45 and will resume the fourth day’s play with Hasan Mohsin (five) on Monday, after Sindh had lost two wickets for just one run and were 47 for two.

He needs to improve his fitness massively if he is to play for pakistan but he should only play t20s for Pakistan not odis

his fitness is appaling, and given hes been in back to pro cricket for a few months now this one knock notwithstanding hasnt done anything. even here was dropped twice.

i was a fan of his given hes pbly the most natural batsman against pace, but he was far too many other weaknesses now to compensate.

Up and down QeA Trophy so far.

212 runs in 6 innings at an average of 35.33 with 1 century.
