So when the world cup comes around, you will see gayle, maybe narine lining to play for West Indies. Now I love gayle but he is past his best in all honesty. Hemraj looks decent but I would drop Powell because he gives his wicket away easily. I would also not select evin Lewis bc he didn't sign the contract. Now I would select a big hitter and honestly that person should have been sherfane Rutherford. He looks really good when hitting and west indies should look to the future in him. They will have a better chance with a big hitter on top and decent middle order and powerful power order.

I am a fan. Good hand-eye coordination; good hitter. He is in the T20 squad vs India

Sherfane Rutherford young West Indian Batsman !

Sherfane Ruherford is an exciting prospect for West Indies Cricket.

He is in same league as Shemron Hetymer wrt the natural talent he possesses. From now on it's all about nurturing this talent and refining it into Gold.

He has got timing, flair & power in his batting along with the West Indies renowned magical wrists.

He must be fast tracked into West Indies Odi squad and should be part of their WC 2019 squad.

He has got the freak natural ability and lazy elegance of top batsmen produced by Windies. I hope his talent doesn't get wasted.

He is a very good hitter. He hits very clean.very talented player should get consistent chances for west indies.

Tbh why would/should overseas players care about beef between India and Pakistan? MI must have fans in Pakistan as well.

Karachi Kings, on Tuesday, were crowned the champions of Pakistan Super League (PSL) after Babar Azam's (63 off 49) heroics with the bat helped his team register a comfortable victory over Lahore Qalandars by five wickets. Chasing Lahore's 134 for seven wickets, Karachi finished the business with eight balls to spare and five wickets in hand.

Notably, this was the first time ever Karachi lifted the trophy since the inception of PSL. But for the Caribbean cricketer Sherfane Rutherford, it's an entirely different story.

Rutherford, who was part of the winning Karachi squad in PSL on November 17, had earlier lifted the trophy for Mumbai Indians in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League where the Men in Blue defeated Delhi Capitals in the big finals on November 10.

Although the 22-year-old cricketer didn't feature in a single match for MI, the fact that he was part of two big wins in two T20 leagues within a span of 7 days wasn't lost on anyone.

Enjoy watching him bat.

Lovely clean striker of a cricket ball and hits it a long way.

Areas to work on, but he'll get better.

Could well have played a match winning innings today

70* off 46

Has to be the best, if not one of the best T20 finishers in the world

Rutherford smashed 58 not out off 31 balls including six towering sixes and a match winning boundary off the final ball to earn him Man of the Match award.

Rutherford recounts the mindset during epic Tarouba knock in the Men’s T20 World Cup

Sherfane Rutherford hit an unbeaten 68* to lead a brilliant fightback for the West Indies in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup clash against New Zealand in Trinidad and Tobago.

Showcasing exemplary hitting Rutherford produced a career-best effort of 68*, lifting West Indies, who were 76/7 at one stage, to 149/9. Inclusive of two fours and six sixes, Rutherford’s brilliant fightback eventually secured a 13-run win for his side.

The southpaw was chuffed at having played role in West Indies’ win.

“It’s a good feeling to help my team,” Rutherford said. “Playing a World Cup match is all of ours dream, and this is what we live for and work hard for, so I’m just happy to contribute for my team.”

As wickets kept tumbling during the West Indies batting innings, Rutherford managed to keep his cool and kept ticking the scoring rate.

“I was just telling myself to take it deep, me and (Daren) Sammy (West Indies white-ball head coach) we had a talk and he said, ‘Try and take it deep. Keep rotating it.’ ” Rutherford spoke after the game.

“I started feeling a momentum (shift), and I thought we could always make up in the end.”

The last wicket stand of 37 from merely 13 balls saw all the runs come off the willow of Rutherford, even as Gudakesh Motie held on at the other end. This was the highest-ever stand for the last wicket in Men’s T20 World Cup.

Rutherford hit three sixes in the penultimate over by Daryl Mitchell on the way to his fifty, while he took 18 runs off the final over by Mitchell Santner.

Looking back at it, Rutherford stated that he’d figured out that the final two overs would be an easier target after the New Zealand pacers were done with their quota of overs.

“The two bowlers they had to make up with, I knew I could score maximum runs, and I think I did that well.”

Sherfane Rutherford brought up his second ODI fifty in style, rescuing the team after four early wickets fell against Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI.

Good performance by Sherfane. Windies need to develop their ODI batting. It's currently a 1 man army with just Shai Hope.

Coming in at 23-3 with wickets tumbling around him, Sherfane Rutherford 80(82) put on another show in Kandy in 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka

Sherfane Rutherford scored a scintillating 113 off 80 balls against Bangladesh in the 1st ODI to setup an easy win for WI.

Would walk into every odi team. An excellent talent. WI have the ingredients to become a solid odi team. Good for the game.

After 10 ODIs, Rutherford's batting average is 73+ and strike-rate is 111+.

Great start to his ODI career.
