[VIDEOS] Ticketless Afghanistan fans break into DSC in Dubai

I was there, i havnt seen such situation before. I managed to get in somehow after almost get saffocated. But my friend came in after 18 overe were gone. And another friend went back.

I want to know, who to contact for refund ? It says ticket provided, what does that mean? , i bought online, where to request ?

It happens every game between these two.

Just have to conclude that Pakistan and Afghanistan people can't stand each other.

Excuse me? What did Pakistani people do for them to enter without tickets? It was just some afghani fans showing their mentality.

Witnessed this mayhem first hand, went with 2 of my brothers and our elderly father. It was their first watching a match so I was very excited and got those premium tickets for all 4 of us to enjoy the match in peace, mind you each ticket cost us 350 Dhs.

We left from Al-Ain by 3 PM and reached the stadium by 5 PM walked towards the gates, it is easily a 10min walk from the paid parking. Upon reaching the gates saw a sea of crowd controlled by authorities settled on horses after waiting in the crowd for 40minutes while getting pushed and dragged by some very eager Afghan fans. I witnessed families, children struggling to catch a breath as it became extremely crowded.

Then one over-excited Afghani fan (he had a Flag around his neck) tried to climb the fence to jump inside and the management pushed them all back at this point families, and kids were pushed to the ground as they lost footings because of the pushback force from the people being hit by the authorities; trying to keep my stance and footing on the ground I tried to push myself out of the crowd hitting my toe in one of the barriers placed for controlling the crowd and hurt my toenail. The pain was extreme therefore I started moving out from the crowd.

At this moment I moved my family out from the crowd and we stood away from the crowd, while waiting there we were joined by many families who were pulling out of the crowd weeping and disturbed.

Match had already begun and around 5 overs were already bowled by the Pakistani team at this point the doors will still not open.

The next happening was never experienced by us in UAE the fans pushed at the fencing and gates, they came tumbling down. The crowd was outnumbered, they were loud and frenzied running towards the stadium at this so many families who were still waiting in the crowd were in a situation of a stampede. Horrifying screams and help cries were heard but to no assistance.

Now when the crowd all pushed through, we walked in through the broken gates and fence searched our entry gate and once we reached there another flock of people were waiting ahead of the gate and the entries were locked. This was the situation at premium gates, worst conditions were heard in general admission points.

Here I would like to point out the security company contracted for this was clueless how to handle the crowd when we went to another entry point to enquire about the closure of the gate we were told that stadium is full he will accommodate us in VIP as he has some tickets but we need to pay 750 Dhs per person, so they were running their own profit centers.

By this time 1st Innings was completed and we had no hope of entering the stadium, I saw people trying to climb the guard rails to enter the staircase corridors so that they can get in the stadium.

All this could have been avoided with better management, contracted companies were understaffed to handle such a big game. They had no answer to any queries they kept a crowd waiting for more than 90minutes at the doors without a plan and eventually they failed miserably.

Hand on the heart being a witness of this chaos was caused by our Afghan brothers, there were so many Pakistani Families horrified, crying for space but they did not listen kept pushing kept behaving like unschooled creatures. I want to be as polite as I can be as the stadium is as much for them as for us but there were about 70% Afghani fans without tickets or some carrying fake ones all of them knew their only way in is by force. They are the ones who spoilt the evening for many Pakistani and Afghani fans who bought along families and kids spending a fortune to experience the energy of watching a match in one of the best stadiums.

After all this chaos, we managed to make our way in from damaged gates & defeated security guards, and experienced final overs of the Pakistani innings. ICC failed miserably to organize the event as did their partners no one was to be found there. My family is not ready to ever go back to the stadium for a game.

Brilliant post!

I have witnessed the same in the uk in 2019 world Cup and it was a terrible experience. People talk a lot about the match at Leeds but it happened at multiple locations. The media failed to report it and the ICC failed to act on it.

Now this doesn't mean all afghan fans but from my experience the majority. Like it or lump it but they need to be reprimanded.

I think they should ban the spectators for all future events if this is not possible then I would fine the cricket board.

I have been to a t20 final in rawalpindi stadium so I know, it happened infront of me.

If you dont wana believe it thats your choice. But pakistani fans are no different either

They should first try and catch as many suspects who tried to break in and if this is not possible then a heavy fine should be slapped on the cricket board.

I am so sorry to hear this bro - This is not an experience of cricket anyone should have.

Thanks bro. You shouldn’t need to apologise but I appreciate it. I would like to see them act like thugs to Dubai police as individuals rather than in huge gangs. Their was some British Men caught up in the carnage of stampede in their 50s they were. Must have been totally shellshocked.

From what I have heard from friends out there it looked like the uae authorities just stepped back and watched because it was Pakistanis against afghanis, he commented had there been more locals around the stadium the police would have reacted a lot differently. Shocking scenes tho , would never have expected this to happen in uae , uk fair enough we all know how lax the security is there, we saw similar scenes at Wembley in the euros final.

Out of interest, the ICC asking ECB to investigate but this tournament belongs to BCCI.

Why are they not being held accountable?

This could've ended so badly with the stampede and everything.

Thankfully nothing serious happened. Really a terrible incident.

I saw a video on TikTok where a young Afghani slapped an old aged person for celebrating the Pakistan win I think this was in Birmingham

Seriously, shame on you Afghan fans !!!!

I’ ve spoken to enough Afghans in NA to realize I get along better with Pakistanis than them.

Too hot headed to have a civil conversation, one can also see them as passionate people ..

In my limited interactions, i have found Afghans very intelligent ( in a good way ) , controlled, honest and humble people.

Maybe this particular matchup seems to be a trigger point in general, as it happened last WC too.

Sorry to hear this bro!

There should be signs and announcements made outside stadium that CC tv Camera is on, any disturbance while entry will lead to Jail, cancel of UAE visa and deportation.
Then deport a few people. Problem will be solved.

Are you assuming that these people can read signs?

And “announcements made” :)

Bro if you have been to these places, the only announcement they will hear is one that a policewalla does in their ears!

Those who will pay heed are the ones who will not be doing this in the first place.

What was the trigger then, which can turn intelligent and humble people into animals?

Tbh it goes both ways. On one hand, I've found Afghans can be highly racist towards Pakistanis. Of course, racism is quite common in the subcontinent and I've seen Pakistanis being racist towards Bangladeshis and Indians to an extent, even north Indians towards south indians, north east indians and Sri Lankans and so on. But Afghans take it to a whole new level, and go from 0-100 in the racism scales in an instant towards Pakistanis! Some of the vitriol and hostility I saw leading up to the match on social media was something I haven't even seen between Indians towards Pakistanis or vice versa, and both of them can be quite racist towards each other mind you.

On the other hand, the biggest reason for the anti Pakistani sentiment amongst the general Afghan people is that they feel the Pakistani establishment has ruined their country by supporting the Taliban. And outside of those who fight for the Taliban themselves, Pakistanis are by far the staunchest supporters of the Taliban outside Afghanistan. So this doesn't help matters when Pakistanis say things like the Taliban are saviours/heroes and that Afghans should be happy that the Taliban have come to power and at times, some taunt Afghans by saying things like Afghanistan is the fifth province/vassal state of Pakistan, and so on in a condescending tone. The 2nd gen Afghan women in western countries are also the most anti Pakistani and I guess this is due to the above reason, given the Afghan women's lives and education gets affected the most under the Taliban.

There is no real sporting rivalry between the two but more poltics related.

Pakistan has not ruined their country, take a look at pictures of Afghanistan, all you will see is women covered in shuttlecock burkas. What has this got to do with Pakistan?

Sure they can do it one time but once deportations start, it will send a message. Even now UAE authorities can find the people in pictures posted and deport them.

In general, it is plausible that people can lose their marbles though, like turks-greek in football etc.
Obviously when a man attacks families- it is end of discussion- no question. Hes an animal.

My personal opinion only - a bit of hyperbole here -
——
Lets say there are 2 own brothers in a family, and one is rich & one is poor.
The rich didnt help the poor, and thinks that he is better than him, and he helps him very late, just to look good in society, and when he helped him - he didnt do it with purity but for some expectations in return.
——

Someone from other side ( afg ) can answer your question.

I'm saying that's what they believe.

It is just playing the victim, and that is why their country is in the situation they are in. They won't ever make any progress while they are looking to blame everyone else for their problems. Their behaviour at these cricket matches assaulting families should be a clear indicator of where the problem lies.

I don't want answers from the other side, there is no excuse for such behaviour.

Tbh it's not unique to the Afghans though is it. The Afghans blame the ISI for all their problems with the Taliban, the Pakistanis blame the RAW for all their problems in Balochistan and Waziristan and the Indians blame the ISI for all its problems in Kashmir.

When we are failing at something, it's much easier to blame the "external enemy" than to look inwards. This attitude is universal to the subcontinent. So I wouldn't blame the Afghans alone for it.

Could the mods also share the video where an Indian journalist tried to create controversy by asking a dumb political question with regards to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Nabi answered that question well that lets not discuss politics and stay to cricket, very embarrassing stuff by the Indian Journalist.

That journalist tried very hard to ask political questions that ICC media manager had to intervene and shut his mic.

Are you sure he is Indian journalist? We assumed he is Pakistani.

Conspiracy theories are all fine and well, but when they lead to gang assaults on families going to watch cricket, then perhaps we need to ask ourselves are we doing more harm than good? Yes spreading this hatred via social media might suit the purposes of those who hate Pakistan, but look at what it is producing.

Would enemies of Pakistan count this as a win? I suppose they might so congratulations to them.

I doubt 90% of Afghans know what social media is. Whatever their feelings are, I can assure you it's not through Twitter or Instagram or Linkedin posts.

It's mostly what they see happening in their land or what they hear about it through their tribal elders or families. Internet penetration in the country would be among the lowest in the entire world in Afghanistan.

Everyone has a phone these days, but let's go with your suggestion. Perhaps in Afghanistan itself there isn't much social media penetration, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the ones who are abroad following their cricket team are on it. These are not necessarily representative of your average Afghan either, they are probably the northern alliance who were routed by the majority. That would explain their hatred for Pakistan, we must be careful not to tar all Afghans with this brush.

Not sure many of the Afghans in the UAE would be from the elites. Most would be day labourers. Technically these people should be from the majority pro Pak population.

So Pakistanis should not be too hard on the Afghans who attended this match.

You are trying to push a narrative which flys in the face of the facts. Did you not read the reports of Pakistanis who were there attending the match? About the assaults on families? Do they sound like pro Pakistan majority to you?

I'm talking about the recent game in the UAE and not the game that happened in England.

So am I. Read post #83.

Don't think I read about any directed assault on Pakistani families from Afghans in the last match unlike the one happened in England.

All the chaos was due to thousands of Afghan fans pouring into the stadium without tickets. Normally I would blame illiteracy for this, but then again everyone saw what happened in the Euro final.

Directed or not, when you stampede in an enclosed area, then families are being put at risk. But I think authorities must take most of the blame, there was obviously no idea how to handle the situation.

Hearing lots of stories of families with tickets just going home rather than trying to get into the ground.

Absolute disgrace.

True. A massive failure by the authorities. Something like the Hillsborough could've happened, which would've been an unprecedented event in cricket.

If I were a Pak fan, tbh I would avoid attending games with Afghanistan in the stadium. They seem to pour in numbers specifically for games against Pakistan for some reason. And it ends in trouble more often than not.

Don’t mind the Afghanistan passion for the game. Could be the third strongest team in Asia stronger than Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in a short time.

Hope better security in Sharjah as its going to get some attention. this game

I have to admit I was caught by surprise by Afghans' hostility toward Pakistan in England. I certainly didn't have any such thing in my head.

Went back and read history and understood some of it. Both sides feel they have a case against each other. I'd rather not go into it.

in pure cricketing terms, I do think Pakistanis have looked at Afghanistan, and Bangladesh teams, as inferior to them by right, while those teams have a lot of pride.

Then in history terms, there is also KPK people who are directly affected by war over time.

Afghanistan on the other hand, I feel conflate a lot more of country histories into their cricket. Sport is never dissociated from politics. This leads to much more heated emotions on their side.

Overall, I can't say enough how good Afghanistan are for the game. Heart on the sleeve, fearless cricket, look opponent in the eye, brimming with thirst for recognition and rightful place stuff. Pure theater. In that sense, they are very close to Pakistan of 80's and 90's.

Hope the pakistanis visiting are carrying required protection and the police is well equipped to beat the living hell out of any voilent Afghan who tries to assault families.

Not sure UAE is the right place to be displaying stupidity - the authorities show zero tolerance for any mischief.

Dont worry, in UAE pakistanis and afghans are going to be treated the same....

Friends of mine who flew there had to hide to save themselves from some of these idiots. Don't make light of this to make your point.

For UAE arabs, pakistanis and afghans are same. The tone that posters here use against Afghans is with hatred.

But for arabs, both are same. We can keep on hoping for the uae police to be brutal agaisnt afghans but for their police they will treat both groups same. These kind of idiots exist in both camps and in sports with rivalries.

Worst fans in sport. Hope they suffer a humiliation again. I prefer Indian fans and Indian cricket.

Hopefully no fights this time. Pakistani and Afghan cricketers gel well, that message should be passed on to fans.

I’d rather lose to Bangladesh or even India than Afghanistan. Afghanistan fans are incredibly entitled and continue to bite the hand that fed them. Most of their cricketers learnt to play in Pakistan and they were showing attitude towards the end of this game too.

Well deserved win and I hope we continue beating them mercilessly like we do to Bangladesh!

Yep, shoot at sight will be nice for them Afghanis to learn the lesson.

No, they won't be because you do not have Pakistanis breaking entry to the stadium without tickets. Don't make these dumb statements just to make your point.

They do not gel well. Pakistan players try to be friendly, which Afghans obviously have to reciprocate. However, we all know how Afghan players truly feel about Pak - this comes out on the field when the emotions are running high.

I have never seen a Pakistani player initiating abuse towards an Afghani player...never! But with Afghans, we have countless examples.

I have beeb to pondi stadium where pakistanis broke stadium gates to enter the stadium....before calling others dumb better to know some reality.

Shameful behaviour but pretty expected. These janglis have no business being at a cricket stadium!

There is another video of Afghan fans throwing broken chairs towards Pakistani fans.

Only a beghairat would defend such animalistic behavior. Major what do you have to say considering you are the self appointed defender of afghans here?

Looking at your colorful language just because i support afghanistan, you are no different from those fans in the video

Not really. When rashid came out to bat, rauf was bowling. Rauf bowled to him and rashid at first smiled, rauf acted aggressively to him. After that when rauf realized what he did, he tried to be friendly with rashid but rashid didnt bother to smile back at him and wasnt friendly any mire.

Point being, its not always afghans starting it, pakistanis players also do this and than expect friendliness afterwards

You were watching a different match it seems....both Haris and Rashid were having a laugh with each other throughout that over.

You need to go and watch it again.

They are friends at LQ...pls don't take that seriously

KingKhanWC You were right when you said Afghan fans need to be banned.

As I mentioned before, Afghans have a lot of hated towards Pakistanis due to geopolitical reasons. I knew this was going to happen today and I called it last week. This is not a "generalisation" but the reality of what we face. I know for a fact your brother would agree with me after what he experienced last year.

Now even after all these cricket incidents and experiences I've shared, you cannot keep going out of your way to tell Indians on this forum that Pakistanis and Afghans get along because you want to portray an imaginative unity among us.

You know what even Indians and Bangladeshis (despite what we did to them 50 years ago) don't take things this far.

Worst fans in the history of cricket. I prefer indian fans than afghanis at least they have some insaniat which is clearly missing in Afghans

Rauf stared at him like a fast bowler usually does, then both of them were smiling and laughing with each other.

Don't try too hard push your agenda by changing facts.

Whoa this is really serious. They should be dealt with force. Just beat the crap out of these goons.

Whoever was involved needs to be deported back to where they came from.

UAE is a country that appeals to the world for its glamour. You can't have animals destroying your image and reputation like this.

UAE police must act fast to crackdown on this behaviour.

Afghanistan need to be banned from attending matches in England and UAE. Enough is enough.

Afghan fans are uncivilised, not all but plenty are

They don’t know how to behave and many should be banned for life after this disgusting footage.

Indians and Pakistanis share the greatest rivalry in sports history, and yet we never (or very) see both sides of fans acting like animals, something we see everytime from Afghanistan fans when they face Pakistan.

The security needs to be at the highest level when these two teams play each other, the Afghan fans are too thick and one of them won't think twice before trying to get in the stadium with a weapon or a dangerous projectile.

Afghan crowd behave extremely well when their match is against India. Suddely they become very jahil and violent when their match is against Pakistan.

I have seen Afghans acting like animals.Even in England Afghan refugees misbehave when they go to see Afghanistan play cricket.Sonething is wrong with them.

Are they doing this all provoked though?

What are the odds some supporter said something offensive to the other section ?

In Ind- Pak games one can clearly see crowd from both sides was mostly from upper middle class and above.

In this case it seem that a lot of Afghan fans were working class-Blue collar type. It won’t take much to start a problem.

If the Afghan fans need a lawyer they should def look at hiring you.

It happens way too frequently to assume this.

Do you think Pakistan fans provoke Afghans all the time in every game ?

I have beeb to pondi stadium where pakistanis broke stadium gates to enter the stadium....before calling others dumb better to know some reality.

But we're taking about UAE where the Afghans broke the gates. So, why did you have to bring up Pakistan fans and say the treatment will be the same? It won't be the same...because Pak fans never broke stadium gates....understood now?

You're presenting extremely dumb arguments on this thread just for the heck of it.
