Shadab Khan has rested himself for today's game against Stallions. Saim Ayub is leading the PANTHERS.

Good to see that captain is resting for a youngster to have a chance.

Stupid stunt ..he needs long spell practice and should bowl more and more time.
 
Shadab Khan, after winning the Champions One-Day Cup 2024 final as Captain of Panthers, said in the post-match ceremony:

“We weren’t being rated (before the tournament) because our team is young and inexperienced. After our practice match and first match, people were saying we would be the first team to be eliminated from the tournament. This motivated us, and we had a strong belief from day 1 that we could win the tournament. We wanted to develop a culture of leaving individuals and focusing on the team’s performance.”

hes a good captain, shame his bowling turned to rubbish. would have been a better limited over captain than bobsy or shaheen, although admittedly, that's not saying much.

His bowling has a technical issue and I don't think that he wants to risk losing everything in order to sort it. If the sorting goes pear shaped all the T20 contracts will also go.

Well there is a technical flaw in Sajid Khan’s bowling action too, isnt it?

Shaddy real problem is not technical. His problem is his attitude, lack of hard work and lack of respect for domestic red ball cricket.
 
His bowling was always average and his batting hasn’t improved at all since his debut nearly 8 years ago. Rightly dropped and shouldn’t sniff national colours again till he has a seasons worth of notable FC performances.

I agree technical flaws can be overcome with bloody mindedness. But he has shown any of that in his career? No and as we know about PK cricket,he will be back and will play again. Will he be any better next time.

He won't be back when naqvi and aqib are in- charge. Its not the old ramiz days. That's the beauty of naqvi

Shadab to come back needs to show hard yards in domestic
 
Useless allrounder in ODI's who has been stealing a living for 5 years at least. Good job, PCB. Can only hope BCCI has the balls to drop Jadeja from ODI side as well.

Useless spinner who can’t even spin a bowl. I am sick of these fake spinners.

Awful batsman too.

Just another player who can neither bat nor bowl but have somehow fooled people into thinking that he is an all rounder. Pakistan are experts at producing these fake all rounders.

I am glad he is dropped. Hopefully for good.

this guy has sme soild backing... really dont understand his inculsion in the central contract without any peformance.
 
Shadab brought this onto himself.

He was a fantastic leg spinner when he burst onto the scene. Spun the ball big. Landed his deliveries on a good length consistently.

But then decided that everything is smooth for me so stopped working on his bowling. And the results are there for everyone. Now a completely pathetic player.
 
Good decision to drop him hopefully now he works on his fitness and technical aspect.
 
Sad. Not that he doesn’t deserve it but this guy was supposed to be a massive asset for us and was early on. The rot started ages ago, players never should have been able to neglect fitness and shadab never should have been pushed to be a batsman have batting as an excuse. I felt there’s been a slow change in Shadab who is focusing on batting rather than bowling as years went past.

Shadab, Sarfraz, Babar, Shaheen, Naseem, Sharjeel, Imad, Imam, Yasir shah, Haris Sohail, Umar akmal. There’s probably more. That’s a staggering list of players lost/inderperfoming due to fitness issues. Shaheen is more his injury wasn’t properly rehabilitated. All players talent wise good enough to play internationally. I don’t know how we let all the players slide on fitness. It has cost us immensely.

Considering the lack of power hitting, do you think it was a good decision to drop Shadab Khan from T20Is?

To be honest we need to take tough decisions and this is good for long term. Shadab has been given a strong message and I am hoping he comes back as a better bowling alrounder.
 
Shadab Khan bowled a handy spell in the Abu Dhabi T10 leg, picked up 1 wicket while conceded 24 runs against the Bangla Tigers. With the bat he scored a run-a-ball 10* (not out).
 
20*(6) with the bat and (1/14) with the ball. Shadab Khan's all round performance helped his side to claim victory in T10. He represented Delhi Bulls against Chennai Braves Jaguars

he is only good to play 6 delivries but he cant win u games in a long haul fights.
 
Shadab Khan continues to excel for Delhi Bulls, taking 2/12 in 2 overs against New York Strikers.
 
He is a good T20 bowler still and as a player overall. But the problem was his bowling in longer formats. One Day specially.
 
Shadab Khan praised Saqlain Mushtaq for improvement in his performances:

"He (Saqlain) has been a successful player and is a qualified coach so he is now helping me out at the high performance centre to find that old touch back in my bowling and also how to further improve my batting power,"

Nope! Do not leg this fool you. Shadab should not be allowed near the teams unless he dons over domestic seasons in a row and tears apart his opponents. The criteria should be the same for everyone.
 
Shadab should play 1 or 2 more seasons in QEA before he makes a comeback. Cannot be taking back any full-tosser back in the team. Spin department is already pretty loaded.
 
Im ready to select him again after seeing the poor performance by Abrar and other spinners today.

He bowled at terrible lengths. Kept throwing it full, slow in the air and wasnt even spinning the ball.

Guy isnt the same bowler that he was. He was always slow, but he did had spin in the past, today he bowled like a part timer, his wickets were off batsman own mistake.

Let's say abrar is poor, why not choose sufiyan?

Replacing abrar with shadab doesn't make sense since shadab would be a replacement for khushdil not abrar.

Secondly shadab is a full toss machine. Hos asia cup and world cup performances are so horrifically bad that it's not possible for even khushdil to bowl worse then him.

Shadab is garbage, true. But i dont see a need for Faheem as a pace bowling all rounder on Pakistani and UAE tracks. Might as well add a spin allrounder and the only spin allrounder i can think of right now is shadab. This is based on looking on the crap batting show going on currently. And the way ABrar bowled, SHadab can do the same with a few runs on the bat.

Yes i agree Sufiyan should be in the squad, but faheem needs to go and maybe add Shadab. I might keep Abrar in the squad but his todays outing is making me doubt him.

Remember, India plays spinner better than any other team, and i can see the Indians eating this guy alive.

Abrar bowled 2 for 41. I don't like abrar and I'm not a fan but he was Pakistan's best bowler today and he's been bowling fire in odi atleast.

Shadab was getting a phainti and going for 100+ runs in odi lol. And as a batsmen he's another tullebaz tail ender. He offers zero value.

If you dislike abrar and are nitpicking certain spin elements such as batters giving away their wicket and lack of spin, then you need to replace him with a spinner.

Faheem, Khusdil are wastes of space but that doesn't mean you bring back shadab, Chacha or extra rubbish.

the correct decison atm is to add one more batsmen to replace Faheem and one proper bowler to replace Khushdil.

Agha, Saud are enough.
 
What has Shadab been doing since being dropped from the team? What has his domestic form been like?

on stats he maybe Pakistans best bowler today but based on actual footage he didnt bowl that well. Yes i am nitpicking because i can see a spinner who is good and who is not.

I agree that if we are to replace Abrar Shadab is not the like for like but someone like Sufiyan. I think Shadab could be considered in place of Faheem and Khushdil be replaced for Sufiyan. Thats my opinion though.

Please first check with Shadab if he himself is interested in playing 50 over cricket. I am not sure if he can bowl more than 4 overs. Abrar is committed to playing all forms of cricket and will improve with time. I am surprised you haven't questioned performance of golden boys like Shaheen, Naseem & Rauf who are playing cricket since ages but still no improvement in their bowling. You are questioning best bowler of the day instead of those who got thrashing.

best based on stats but on the basis of actual footage.

He is abit too slow in the air. If we are to play against India in Dubai, he will need to up his game. He bowled a few fuller aswell.

My main point was that abrar's replacement is not shadab, it's another spinner.

Abrar needs support in the form of another proper spinner and that should be Sufiyan not Shadab

two full time spinners in odi is a bit risky. For that you need to have 2 pacers and one allrounder that can bowl pace. But we dont have a pace all rounder.
 
Shadab is a big loss for Pakistan undoubtedly but his most recent performances for the national team were pathetic.

If he can get his act together he slots back in immediately.

He had a meh Quaid-e-azam: 5 matches 19 wickets, ave 27 and econ of 3.4.
He was the 26th top wicket taker. not really good enough of an international bowler

In the T20 Champtions Cup, he played 6 games.
Out of which he batted 5 times, made 24 runs. Average of 6 and sr of 71
He didn't take a single wicket

So basically, he still sucks....

But sadly in Pakistan, control bowlers are not respected.

Waqar Younis is one guy i really hated as a bowling coach. His whole mantra was always about Pace. If you dont have pace you cant play international cricket.
 
Shadab Khan, while speaking on a show on a media platform:

"We're not able to adapt to modern-day cricket. We go back into our shell to rebuild once two wickets fall, and hence we struggle."
