[VIDEOS] Why doesn't Usman Khan Shinwari get the respect he deserves?

Lowest Average Bowling Impact in T20s since the start of 2019 (Min - 100 Overs)

Kesrick Williams : -4.0
Usman Shinwari : -3.6
Keemo Paul : -3.6
Billy Stanlake : -3.5
Scott Kuggeleijn : -2.5
Chris Green : -2.3

According to cricviz, he’s the second worst bowler in the world right now.

I reckon this has gotten worse now.

Horrendous bowler in the T20 format. Please drop him for the rest of the tournament.

If Ahmed Shezad was outed for poor performance from the PSL. Then this guy should follow.

Sorry there is a better bowler deserving of his spot?

Shinwari hasn’t had the best tournament but Sarfraz deserves 50% of the blame

I don’t blame Sarfaraz for mouthing off Shinwari. He’s single handedly lost Quetta two games with his brainless bowling.

Why is Shinwari always bowling around the wicket? Why can't he use his usual angle and bowl over the wicket? What happened to the concept of insanity is doing the same thing again and again expecting different results.

Sarfaraz is the reason why Shinwari and now Hasnain and Nawaz are bowling bad.

Quetta deserves to lose for choosing a mediocre player with attitude of Kohli as their leader.

His last 3 ODI performances:

4/49 in 10 overs vs Aus
5/51 in 10 overs vs Srl
1/41 in 8 overs vs Srl

Possibly another case of struggles in one format (T20s) impacting his career in ODIs. As surely one doesn’t deserve to be dropped with such last 3 performances in a format. (Overall 34 wickets in ODIs at an average of 18.62 a piece)

He has lost all the pace

He was decent for a squad player but injuries plagued his career.

He is a hit the deck kinda bowler, would have done well in SA, a change from the other bowlers Pakistan have who are predominantly swingers. Atleast respecting his career record and last Intl matches, he should be given a chance.

Usman Khan Shinwari and the misunderstanding

Guy is a really bad bowler in T20Is, but he's never been so average in ODIs. Not asking for him to be included, but he's nowhere near the ODI side, that's the concern. You don't waste ur options like that. Atleast use him in rotation policy

His T20I (bad) performances are usually mixed with his ODI ones.

Let's break down his ODI stats

Opponent(s), Matches, Wickets, Avg, Eco
Overall, 17, 34, 18.69, 4.94 (Brilliant)

SENA+India, 7, 10, 29.30, 5.32 (Good)

Sri Lanka, 4, 12, 13.66, 5.20 (Brilliant)

Those performances do deserve a squad selection at least.

I personally think it's his T20I performances that had led him into the bad books of the management and the captain(s).

Also he's a new ball bowler and a left armer. Which you don't find easily.

PCB is wasting Amir, Usman Khan and Hassan Ali(as he's not a new ball bowler)

Imagine this bowling in ODI

in PP
Amir 3 overs
Shaheen 3 overs
Usman 4 overs

Usman should finish his quota before 40th over.

Also having Amir helps the tail end batting

#07. Mohammad Nawaz
#08. Hassan Ali
#09. Mohammad Amir
#10. Shaheen Afridi
#11. Usman Khan Shinwari / Usman Qadir

Poor guy doesn't get no support. People dropped him from ODIs based on his PSL performances.

Also he's a new ball bowler, which will help Hassan to bowl to his strength (semi new ball)

These are the stats of cureet 3rd pacers

Name/ Mat, Wk, Avg, Eco

U Khan/ 17, 34, 18.6, 4.94
H Rauf/ 07, 10, 34.1 5.77
M Hasnain/ 08, 12, 37.9, 6.40

This should be the bowling

#07. Imad Wasim (only defensive bowler, but a good batsman)
#08. Shadab Khan (deserves to be persisted for now)
#09. Hassan Ali
#10. Shaheen Afridi
#11. Usman Khan

Saud Shakeel to be the 6th bowler

I love to see Shinwari take the new ball against Bairstow and Roy once in my life.

England will be 74/0 after 5 overs.

I would also like to see him bowl to Buttler in the death overs so that England can add 87 in the last 5 overs.

These are his stats against top 5

SENA+India, 7, 10, 29.3, 5.32

Surely won't do worse than Haris and Hasnain

Has he played against England before? I don’t remember.

Nevertheless, I would also take him over Rauf because although he’s equally brainless, he can swing the new ball. However, let’s not kid ourselves - bringing him back does not improve our bowling attack at all.

As I said, it'll be better than Haris, also let Hassan to bowl as a first change, rather than opening the bowling, where he(Hassan) goes for 7 rpo. Also, being a left armer he would cause some problems rather than stone thrower Rauf and Bowling machine Hasnain

Yes he didn't play against England yet, he can only if this management let him to.

Against Aus (Warner, Finch, Smith), he avgs 27.8 @ 4.79

Against SA (Amla, Faf, Ab, Miller), he avgs 25.4 @ 5.77

The only memory I have of him against South Africa is David Miller destroying him in a T20I.

Shinwari is always on the cusp of getting smashed and losing Pakistan the game.

Lol yes I remember that, and the face of Mickey. But yes, he must not play T20s even, let alone T20Is.

And yes, finish his overs before 40th over

In a tweet, Usman has announced his retirement from the red ball format.

I remember this guy being a very good ODI bowler. Pak could do with him being back in the squad.

Bowled well so far - focussing on smart rather than try and bowl too fast and get carted

happy Birthday to Usman

Time ticking by for Shinwarii!

He lacked heart in pressure situations

Respectfully that's a pretty dumb reason to get dropped. Lacked heart? What does that even mean? He wasn't the first bowler to get smacked around in the death overs in a T20 and he won't be the last. He got rightfully dropped from T20Is but he was a gun player in ODIs with the potential to do well in tests too.

Usman Khan Shinwari in an interview:

“My favorite player is Babar Azam, without a doubt. However, I think that Babar is extremely dangerous in ODIs and Tests"

"In T20s, I won’t feel much pressure against him because he relies on conventional shots, and as a bowler, you don’t expect Babar to slog sweep a good length delivery or play an unorthodox shot out of nowhere for a six. For this reason, I won’t feel any danger bowling to him in T20s. But in Tests and ODIs, he remains my favorite batter"

Fourth List A five-wicket haul for @Usmanshinwari6 as FATA bowl out Peshawar for 112 🎯

Have a look at the fifer of Usman shinwari. A talent that has been wasted till now. I think he can surely be taken into consideration for white ball format. His record is not bad to be honest.

Usman Khan Shinwari said during an interview with local media:

"Pakistan cricket has been limited to only 15 players, while domestic cricketers are forced to leave the country."

"I don't know why I am being ignored. I still have cricket left in me."

"I came to America only to play; I have no intention of taking citizenship."

"The senior player is not sitting out, even against Bangladesh and Ireland. Babar Azam, Shaheen, and other senior players should be rested."

Usman Shinwari recently shared the most heartbreaking moment of his career: being left out of Pakistan's 2019 World Cup squad.

In hindsight, was it a mistake to overlook him for the tournament?

I don't think any of these 3 were picked. PCB went for a young Hasnain.
