Exactly one year from now, Australia is scheduled to tour(full tour) Pakistan. By the looks of it, cricket is fully back in Pakistan, after the full tour of South Africa

There are 4 big teams (excluding India because there’ll be no series in the foreseeable future) SA, NZ, ENG and AUS

-SA has already toured (for a full tour)
-ENG has already committed to tour (T20I series) Pakistan before the T20I World Cup in Oct of this year
-NZ will most likely tour in October too due the scheduled (LOI) series

The biggest question is will Australia tour Pakistan, especially for a full series?

This is the FTP for the series
2 TESTS
3 ODIs
3 T20Is
 
This is what will happen me thinks

2 TESTs and 3 ODIs in UAE
Australia will send an ‘AUS C’ (as most will pull out off the tour) team to Pakistan for the 3 T20Is (with max 6 days of stay in Pakistan), and all matches held on one ground(to avoid travelling)

D) Host them for the entire tour, doesn’t matter Pakistan/ UAE, but don’t cancel/ postpone even a single match

Off topic, with all due respect to Pakistan cricket, pulling out will help Australia, as they can host a competitive team.

Sending a weak/ U-19 team? How much more weak can the touring Pakistan team be? You can’t send a much more weaker team than what u sent a year back
 
They will come. They can’t keep up this underlying privilege facade for much longer in the age of social media and BLM.

If England and New Zealand tour, Australia will need reasons like BCCI does in order to skip the Pakistan tour and not lose FTP points.

Its the principle. 9/11 attacks in NY and Australia pull out of a PK tour, London is attacked and the Ashes goes on unaffected,and rightly so. Australia is always looking for excuses not to come.

There’s no point discussing the past, but present. Will they tour or not? If they don’t what should/ could Pakistan do about it?

If the other tours go ahead beforehand (NZ & Eng) then Australia will tour. Cricket will be well & truly normalised by then. This SA tour is a big step.

Oz are trying to do the right thing here & heading to SA even during pandemic & even after England pulled out of SA over conditions. So I'm hopeful Australia's actions start to match their words about preserving cricket & the good of the game etc.

Australia didn't tour Pak after 1998 I think. NZ, SA, Eng, WI all toured Pakistan in the 2001-08 period, in fact India had two full tours (3 tests, 5 ODIs) in that period, and an Asia Cup as well. Australia is an exception here and there is no guarantee they will go ahead even if Eng and NZ tour. I don't understand how Pak can be safe for Eng but unsafe for Aus. CA may have lots of explanation to do and there will be controversy I think. Maybe Aus should send the ODI/T20 party a few months prior to the test series, like how I am sure England will be doing, PCB can try that angle. After the successful white ball leg, it will be easier to convince CA to do the test series as well.
 
They have no excuse not to tour, Pak will have hosted England as well prior to this so it would be pathetic for them not to come.
 
Things are improving rapidly, here is no reason why they won;t come, I'm sure they will .
 
Don’t think they wanna get humiliated in our new Fortress Karachi. If they were smart they would not wanna come.
 
I'm the first one to want this tour to through. Nothing would please me more.
 
Australia has been bit of a drama queen when it comes to touring Pakistan. With that being said, Wasim Khan and current PCB administration are not like previous administration. They should be able to sway CA to tour, or worst case make a scene at ICC if CA decides not to tour.

Send weakened team to Australia? Yes that simply means sending our regular team, because strong Pakistan and Australia do not belong in one sentence.

Pulling out of Australian tour will definitely hurt CA because of WTC points. Nothing is easier for Australia than a home series against Pakistan.

If it wasn’t for the WTC, CA would certainly love to see Pakistan avoid touring Australia. We offer no challenge and they end up losing money because of how pathetic and embarrassing our cricket is on their shores.

That would actually work in Pakistan’s favor. It is a smart trade-off.

Pakistan is guaranteed to get humiliated in Australia like always, but there is a decent chance of Australia winning in Pakistan if the pitches are decent for fast bowling.

So no Test cricket between the two countries means Pakistan benefits more.

Wasim Khan and current PCB administration are simply capitalizing on the work of the previous administration. They find themselves at the right place at the right time.

Hosting the likes of South Africa and playing Test cricket in Pakistan today would not have been possible without the baby steps PCB took 2015 onwards to bring international cricket back to Pakistan.

Those Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka, World XI tours and the handful of PSL matches from 2015 to 2018 built confidence and momentum and allowed the current administration to host the entire PSL and host teams for Test cricket in 2019-2020.

It was much, much harder to convince teams to tour Pakistan 5-6 years back than it is today, simply because the scars of the Sri Lankan attack were still fresh and boards/players did not have the confidence in PCB providing adequate security arrangements.

We lose so let Australia have a taste of their own medicine. The Australian Market is competitive and hosting Ind and England isn't going to excite anyone. Just look at the pathetic crowds when England played Odis a couple of years ago.

They couldn't get anyone other Zimbabwe and Windies and even that by paying a premium. IK has the skills your crooks could never match, and btw it was because of your crooks that SL was attacked, SS was CM and AZ was president. We don't forget the incompetent crooks that led to PK losing 10 years.

Shahryar Khan and Sethi had nothing to do with the Sri Lankan attack. They were the ones talking to the boards to tour Pakistan, not the government at the time.

They couldn’t get anyone other than Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and West Indies etc. because at the time, boards were not convinced by the security situation.

It was only after these teams toured and a handful of PSL matches were hosted that other boards develop the confidence in faith in PCB security measures.

After the complete abandonment of cricket in Pakistan, PCB had to take incremental steps and slowly build confidence back. Hosting the major teams from day 1 was never possible.

You can delude yourself into thinking that Imran and Wasim Khan would have managed to bring the likes of England and South Africa right from the beginning and it was the failure of the likes of Shahryar and Sethi that they couldn’t. Fantasies and delusions do not cost anything and are limitless.
 
In all fairness, if CA refuse to play in Pakistan, then PCB should avoid having the tour in the first place.

And why weren't other boards convinced by NS but were by IK? Yes one was an incompetent crook and the other is a well known personality who can charm people and doesn't need parchis.
Who the hell is Sethi in the bigger scene. For you, he is some qabza mafia demi God, but it was IK that charmed the likes of Atherton and create the soft image, and in the end it was that the brought people back.

They should tour, I don't know why Australia thinks it's America lol. Like most Pakistanis have a positive opinion about Australia, an even better opinion than they have of the British yet Australia hasn't toured since the 90s while England toured twice in the 2000s

Imran and Wasim have nothing to do with the likes of south Africa and England touring Pakistan today. They are not going to risk their lives because of them, and neither will ECB risk the lives of their players because Atherton is “charmed” by Imran like a teenage girl from 1980s.

They are touring because they are convinced with the security measures thanks to the successful hosting of several matches starting with the 2015 tour of Zimbabwe.

Back then, it was very, very hard to convince teams because PCB had nothing to fall back on. There was no body of work, and all they had was verbal assurances.

Now, PCB has the 20+ matches that it has hosted in Pakistan during the 2015-2018 period as proof that it is now fully capable of hosting teams.

If Imran and Wasim were around in 2015-2016, it would be very difficult for them to convince boards to tour, and the big teams would certainly not be touring before the smaller boards test the waters and be the guinea pigs before the bigger boards agree to tour.

So they got convinced 5 years later? why didn't they get convinced for the PSL when PK held matches at home when the Nooras were in power, what happened to most of the Foreign contingent. Only the raillu kattas came under NS.The stupidity of your logic is mind boggling.

IK is World famous and people are prepared to listen, and soft power works, the documentary by Atherton, the invasion to Viv Richards and Greg Chappelle start to make a difference.
 
They should tour. There is no excuse to not tour currently. South Africa are touring. Why can't Australia?

Demanding security from Australia is just a crybaby move to do by the PCB.

Instead, we should avoid touring Australia for a few years, work on our own cricket, and put up some performances which incentivize Australia to tour.

Until the PCT becomes better, and really challenges the Big 3, Australia won't bend their backs for us.

I think we have become too much of a doormat. They have a right to demand top security as all do all the other countries after the incompetence of SS and AZ in 2009.

The previous PCB administration were too much of doormats too. They would just do whatever touring countries asked and didn't even try to put their foot down. The current administration could have continued doing that but they put some pressure on countries to tour which has started to work out. Pakistan could have had cricket back earlier, i.e. 2017 or 2018 if this administration was in place 2 years prior to that. And if the previous administration was still in charge, we'd likely still be trying to pay players to visit.

True, but have Australia had any recent events that endanger the lives of cricketers? The obvious answer would be no.

We can't make false cases about things that haven't happened. If they invite us, we should decline. I'd rather have the likes of Shaheen actually play a full season of FC Cricket rather than travel to Australia.
 
Hopefully they will tour, if not then PCB should decline an OZ tour moving forward. The amount of revenue we have generated for them in all those boxing tests. Its a one way relationship that needs to be addressed.

Many terrorist groups hostile to Western interests operate in Pakistan. Don't travel to Balochistan or Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (except Chitral district) where the risk of attacks is highest. If you travel to other parts of Pakistan, be cautious. Avoid crowded places and possible targets. Always have an exit plan.
Violent crime, including armed robbery, assault, carjacking and kidnapping, occurs across Pakistan. The risk of kidnapping is very high in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. If, despite our advice, you travel to these areas, get professional security advice. If you must go to Chritral district or Gilgit Baltistan, travel by commercial aircraft and not by road.
Political and religious protests are common and can turn violent. Political, sectarian and gang violence occurs often in Karachi. Avoid large public gatherings. If you're caught in a rally, find a safe place and stay indoors.

It sounds like it's 'exercise caution' for Sindh, Punjab, Islamabad and AJK/GB, i.e. 1-2 level better than 'Do not travel'. Which would actually be pretty favourable over where they would have been not long ago. Still doesn't make sense why they would have an overall of "Do not travel", unless that's covid related or that Balochistan and KP are low-watermark for Pakistan overall.

There's a difference being a tourist and being a cricket team that's provided high-level security.
 
Australian military's presence in Afghanistan was the biggest reason why Australia did not tour Pakistan in last 2 decades even when security was not an issue in early to mid 2000s. 2022 proposed tour is heavily dependent on Afghanistan peace negotiations outcome.

Massive difference, a tourist has no obligation to heed governments warnings and can visit Pakistan if they wish. CA on the other hand cannot send a team to Pakistan if the government advise them not to.

That advice is geared towards tourists though. Reading that advice, it also doesn't sound particularly scary for Punjab and Sindh, where the matches will be held.

The Australian team would probably not even be allowed to do anything that those warnings say, so it's likely not going to be an issue.

but a lot of it has to do with the.color of one's skin

I genuinely believe if our relationship with india was decent they would have been visiting Pak every year ( even though BccI is Rich so even the economic clout can't be used as the reasoning)

I think India visited in 2006 I believe (when insurgency was still active unlike today)
But Australian team at that refused to come in early 2000s (when the terrorism barely started)...

Btw anyone remembers aussies making a big deal about visiting the caribbean due to the crime situation (don't hold me to it cause I think I read it somewhere years ago so it may not be true)

I'm not sure if you realise but Australians (all Australians, barring rare exceptions for extraordinary circumstances) are banned from leaving Australia at all. Have been since the COVID outbreak. It's actually even hard for Australian citizens to return to Australia, let alone leave it.

So every region and country, including Europe, USA, UK even New Zealand etc is listed as "do not travel" by Australian govt currently.

So no point checking our travel advice until the pandemic is over.

The only thing that trumps the colour of the skin is the smell of green backs. These same Aussies would be calling India smelly and dirty if they didn't fear for the IPL contracts

Australia was touring India long before the IPL. Did any team other than Pakistan refuse to tour India ever?

You try to drag India to prove what? No matter how much people like you whine and cry, foreigners do not look at India and Pakistan through the same lens of safety or other things.

Ultimately Australians have the right to decide whether they tour pakistan or not. I am not going into merits of that decision, but they have the ultimate authority to decide it.

You guys already dont get India tours. Next you want to decline OZ tours. Thats 2 out of the 3 big teams out of pakistan's itinerary.

I am not saying that Australia is doing the right thing by not touring, but there is little PCB can do about it.

As long as Mighty England tour I couldn't give a dam if the convicts or RSStan dont tour.

Ignore him. He has his own political agenda here & spends tons of hours on it. I hope he is paid bonuses along with his salary by the PTI & propaganda machinery. Guy deserves bonuses.

See, personally i dont see a reason why Aussies shouldn't tour.

But if they dont, thats that.

They just cancelled their SA tour, no one is docking them points.

PK crowd is not full of hate- look at Australian crowds and their abuse of Asian players-Bumrah, Siraj and Moeen Ali.
