I was actually waiting for quite a while to see this fight. Both players, one who is a little hyper more often, with aggressive on field personalities, really wanted to see them have a go at each other.

IIRC Kohli patted Stokes on the back in first test after his knock but i guess he has realized the more he disrupts him the lesser his concentration while batting.

Hold your breath on that. Next year, England play a series vs Australia. If they win that and this guy loses steam and retires prematurely, he is just yet another one off the line and doesn't deserve too much credit.
