Virat Kohli becomes the first player in history to clean sweep three major ICC awards

No one should have any doubt left as to whether Kohli is the best batsman of his generation.

The only question now is, "is he the best ever"?

Insatiable hunger to win matches!! Seen many batsmen scoring runs, piling up runs, going through stunning purple patches. But this guy tries to make sure his runs don't go to waste.

Had Kohli ever played against an inform Wasim ,
Bret Lee, Shane Warne, Waqar, Shoaib, And score a century he would be the goat of all time. But he hasn’t and it’s most likely he wouldnt be able to play and score against them.

It is more like I don't accept them as great bowlers as they have not bowled to great player like Kohli yet lol
Shane warne mauled by pretty much every Indian including Ranji Trophy players. Waqar we all know what happened in 1996. In an era where 5 RPO was the norm conceded 40 runs in 2 overs. Brett Lee , even Uthappa played him with ease even in his prime form.

Okay,

ICC Cricket awards started since 2004.

Sachin Tendulkar was into his 15th year in international cricket by then. To give you context, Virat Kohli has only recently completed 10 years in international cricket. It remains to be seen if Kohli would remain at the top from 2024 onwards to truly evaluate where he stands in comparison to Tendulkar. Tendulkar won the player of the year in 2010 i.e., his 21st year in international cricket. That's as big an achievement as it would be if Kohli wins it in 2029.

Had these awards been around since 1989, Tendulkar would have half a dozen of these by 2004!

Oh okay I didn't know that. I mean yeah if they only started handing these out in the last decade then it's hard to compare.

Kohli already won test series down under. Don't think any other Asian captain can even dream of this for the next decade. Dude is a legend.

I don't think so , There was notional wisden leading cricketer of year which Tendulkar won once in 1998.

This notion that Tendulkar was somehow so better than other durng 1990s is false.Tendulkar was nothing more than steady eddy.
