The guy has played so much international cricket but carries himself like a spoiled 10 year old

They have not won a SINGLE ICC tournament in 10 years. Their fake King and Hitman have been constantly failing when it matters the most (knockouts).
Still carry so much false pride

Imagine the level of attitude they would have if they had actually won something substantial

These guys never miss a chance to troll Pakistan. Pakistani team has brought this on them due to their own mistakes. No wonder such people will troll them now.
 
In his mind, he thinks that he has a switch which allows him to be an acceptable troll for when he wants to troll and then he can switch it off and be taken seriously and respectfully when he starts behaving like a gentleman.

With Shoaib Akhtar he claims that he has that kind of a relationship in which they both back each other behind the scenes but for entertainment they pull each others leg.

Whatever, a lot of his humour is indeed very gross & in poor taste just like this tweet.

Say whatever but Gauram Gambhir doesn’t indulge in all this. He’s a hard hitter but doesn’t hide behind the excuse of humour.

The sad truth is that our 2011 champion team had players who did not have class.

The 1983 class never created these kind of controversies

I experienced the same

In 2006, I watched all England-India matches and literally prayed for India to win. I was even supporting them in the 2008 Asia Cup final
Would always choose people who look like us, speak our language over foreigners

However, now I watch only Pakistan matches- and want Pakistan to win
And India matches- hoping and praying for India to lose always.

Minds of people like Sehwag have been corrupted beyond repair. The guy said before the World Cup that India should write Bharat on their jerseys as it would be emotionally satisfying for 1.4 billion people. And the same person sells gutkas to those 1.4 billion people

From music to cultural exchanges. Even Pakistanis that hold non-Pakistani passports have now been banned from India. Once the Indian immigration officials see where you were born, it’s a wrap for you. Even in this World Cup, visas were made next to impossible for Pakistani fans.

My neutral observation is that it’s Pakistanis that continue to run after India and Indians looking for some sort of association. Bollywood & Indian music are huge in Pakistan even though Bollywood doesn’t promote their products in Pakistan and Indian celebrities routinely trash Pakistan.

Indians that I have interacted and behavior from their government and celebrities tell me that India and Indians would love nothing more than to be disassociated from Pakistan & Pakistanis.

Honestly, Pakistanis need to have some self-respect and stop chasing Indian.

It’s connected to this thread because it explains why Sehwag said what he said. Trolling & hating on Pakistan pays in India. Celebrities are expected to say these things to appeal to the general public.

Sehwag didn’t make that tweet in isolation. It’s part of a pattern coming out of India.
 
He won in 2011 and 2007 t20 so he maybe thinks he has the right to say whatever but its only reflecting poorly on him

But the problem is in todays day and age, digital presence is everything for journalists/influencers/analysts

All our cricket journalists shamelessly cover each and every match of the IPL, our ex-cricketers like Ramiz Raja threaten India when it suits them but conveniently cover all IPL and India bilateral matches on YouTube

India has a 1.4 billion population. They are world beaters in reproduction. So will always be relevant

And cant blame journalists/influencers/analysts as they are acting on self interest
 
He has become a troll & stooge of the current regime ever since his active days as a top bankable star came to an end. He simply lacks the grace & dignity that his contemporaries Ganguly, Dravid, Yuvraj, Kumble or even Dhoni have in abundance. It's one thing if some random nobody jobbers talk nonsense. But for a legend like him making mockery of himself on a continuous basis & then backtracking after things go haywire(17,21) is not only pathetic but also dents his legacy. Nonetheless much like Sidhu after retirement he has become a motormouth so nothing can be done.

The reality is quite different in abroad, but I guess that is beyond this discussion. However, the aversion towards general Pakistani folks is not so pronounced in large part of countries, however, the extreme rights wings do try to get additional mullahs by way of their projected hatred towards Pakistanis. The majority of Indians do not subscribe to that, and they love pakistani artists and cricketers (especially). Social media depending on click baits also are responsible to bring the picture of extreme aversion between the two countries, which I believe is largely ill purposeful and not true

it was recently revealed that his twitter account is managed by a known right wing troll (or else how can one expect this person to write anything of meaningful quality, however, hateful/idiotic it may sound)

Have seen quite a few condemning (not just for this guy, but also against Aakash Chopra and even Irfan Pathan for their antics) voices against such low class/crass behaviour in Indian twitter circles already.

I don't think we are really in a position to complain, we presented our self as a joke of a cricket team and country at a world stage

Starting from we are the number one team in the world and we are going to take revenge for jay shah not allowing us to host asia cup In pakistan and we are going to beat India and bring the cup home the cup to India are tampering with pitches and indian bowlers use special balls with chip that's why they are getting swing.

Any respectable country in pakistans position would have not gone to India for worldcup and if they did they would have put their head down get involved in minimum controversies play the game and come back

exactly. they havent won anything yet lol. they can still lose semis in wankhede. its a toss up as the pitch is so small. only need one idiot to click on the day. they have been good but such comments are distasteful.

If this was shown during the match, then Enough with the finances and our cricket board going bankrupt. BOYCOTT any event that ever takes place in India

Why doesn’t someone in Pak cut a FIR against Pathan & Sehwag they won’t do it again that’s what self respecting nations do.

Only people who got embarrassed are Pakistani players.

Number 1 team this and that, number 1 batsman this and that, best fast bowling this and that.

End result was that they along with England were the biggest laughing stocks of the tournament but at least England have won 2 World Cups in the last 4 years.

Strong reactions will only cause further embarrassment. Pakistan should grow a thicker skin and not be sensitive.

Playing cricket is one thing, the way you conduct yourself is another. Behaving like a child on social media for likes is as embarrassing as anything someone can do.

Also, don’t compare Pakistan and England’s performances. No one expected anything from Pakistan and they performed about what was expected - #5. England on the other hand were favorites and had the most disastrous WC by defending champs in all of history, perhaps in any sport, and now are in a desperate hunt to try to even qualify for the next tournament.

The other embarrassing aspect of this is that no matter how well India performs, someone like Sehwag’s real obsession is still Pakistan and desperately begging for social media attention by bashing Pakistan.

His timing was great during his playing days but not anymore. Knowing the history of Gujarat riots, he should have said 'Pakistan Zindabhaag' after the match between India and Pakistan ended in Ahmedabad. That would have surely showed his concern for our guests.

But now it looks like a poor comment. NZ will get extra support in the semi final. :inti

I was thinking of the same. That was PCB in action who saw nothing wrong with that advertisement, while this is a former player. That's the difference.

As I clearly mentioned in my post I dont support his tweet. There was no need to say Zindbhaag. But you openly supported trolling by a PM and now cry foul.
 
Sehwag has zero class. the only reason he wasnt more of a diva during his playing years was there were far more accomplished players in the side who carried themselves with humility.

Now he has no such shackles and showing his true self

This is actually a very balanced post. PCB and Pak fans have moaned and complined throughout this tournament. Let it be Dushman Mulk, Jai Shri Ram, Dil Dil Pakistan not being played, Security issues, Balls being changed for India etc etc. It was only a time before some ex Indian cricketer give it back. Sad though bcoz this group of Pakistani players are excellent group.

Any way, Sehwag's tweet insults India as it basically indicates that India as a host is not safe for Pakistan cricket team.

Comparison with Sehwag tweet would be something like the shameful online trolls that post 'Gay Hind' or other things mocking Indias slogans like instead of saying Bharat Mata ki Jai some shamefuls say Bharat Mata ko......( no offence meant, I am just saying it for comparison purposes as its similar to what Sehwag said.

There is a difference between what Sehwag said and the Pak PM. I hope its clear to you.

i agree with you 99% but sometime you go overboard which is natural.

What Sehwag has tweeted is not a troll but lack of education.

Agree that most of our current and EX players sound very stupid but likes of Sehwag, Kaif, Irfan Pathan are no different

Absolutely nothing wrong with Viru comments.

It’s a wake up call to the PCB, Pak cricketers along with the fans.

2nd time we have failed to qualify for semis 2019 & 2023 under the same mickey mouse coach.

Time to make changes for future WC otherwise our neighbours will have a field day for a long long time.
