Was it a wise move to not play Yasir Shah in the Pakistan A game vs Australia?

Nathan Lyon got a good work out there and Yasir since he was coming back after a long layover could have used that game to get himself in international mode too.

Something to think about?

No it wasn't a good move at all he's only taken 1 wicket in domestic cricket this season and he clearly could have used more practise to get into the groove in UAE Australia won't become great players of spin based on one match.

Don't think so he is not new to UAE. he always perform better in 2nd inning just a matter of five or six overs and he will start picking wickets again.

He was coming off an injury layover.

Also dropped a catch off his own bowling which he should have caught - just a little rusty I believe

Hes bowled badly for once, it happens. Add to that hes got complacent and almost thought Aussie batsmen would roll over for him easily.

2nd Innings - expect to see him do better.

I think even in mid tour in 2016, he had a bad spell against England.

I think he tried to bowl to many magic balls in 1st inns rather then working away at batsmen and then setting a trap. Am sure he will take wickets in 2nd inns and the 2nd test aswell. Everyone has off inns now and then..just needs to refocus with ball in hand.

He is missing Mushtaq Ahmed as spin bowling coach. His bowling just hasn't been the same ever since Mushy left and started working at NCA only. Get him back. Yasir is lost without him.
