There is very low percentage of muslim women who cover their face because of religious reason. I think its not even 1%. But there was lot of hue and cry against them. Rules were made against them. They were humiliated and scorned publicly. As a reason they had to either stay in home or face hatred if they come out in public. There were 3 strikes against them: 1) they are women 2) they are muslim 3) they cover their face. Some of them had to left their jobs to keep covering their face.

Nowadays I see so many people wearing masks and life is still going on. So life would have gone on ok at that time also when those muslim women were covering their faces. Was the world too cruel towards face covering muslim women at that time? After this virus issue is resolved (Insha Allah), will the world be more sympathetic towards face covering muslim women and let them live their life?

Islamophobia.
No other reason.

Sikhs wear turbans. Never hear anything against that.
Are Sikh turbans "a part of the western culture"?

Hypocrisy from the Islamophobes

Quebec banned Turbans(and other religious symbols) for public workers. Bill 21

Your issue is why they don’t say anything Turbans.. but not actual issue of discrimination..

Reasons for wearing Niqab/cover is not to protect against diseases - if that were the case, men would also be wearing it.

The Niqab/Hijab debate is there for a different reason.

Nope
Sikh's also faced many issues in western world and still facing.
There were so many attacks and killings in US,UK and part of western countries.

I don’t think Hijab or turbans have ever been an issue. It’s when you dress up in a Burkha with everything covered people have a problem in these times when there are security threats.

Back in the day when the world wasn’t this Pc and everyone was not getting offended on everything, we saw in many movies were the characters would dress in a Burkha to escape Cops or mix with the crowd for comedy effect.

Saw yes this can be applicable to practical violations so Burkha must be absolutely banned. Hijab yes discrimination against that is something I don’t agree with.

Agreed. But this virus has changed the outlook.
