I'd go for this XI

1. Saim Ayub
2. Abdullah Shafique
3. Babar Azam
4. Muhammad Rizwan (C)(K)
5. Salman Ali Agha
6. Hassan Nawaz
7. Muhammad Nawaz
8. Hussain Talat
9. Shaheen Afridi
10. Hasan Ali
11. Sufiyan Muqeem

Thoughts?

More than likely Pakistan will be firm favorites to win. However It will be interesting how they face Moti and Chase if the ball remains dry. Babar and Rizwan made them look like quality bowlers. Windies might be able to pull a surprise in the game tomorrow. 89 in the last 10 overs was amazing for a lower ranked Windies team

Looking at the way ball is reversing towards the end with the new rules, I hope this means Rauf & Wasim Jr find a way back into the squad for the next ODI series. Rauf in particular could be quite useful with his pace and yorkers - it's surprising he is not in the squad already to be honest. Looking at the pacers in the squad and there is not a single bowler who can bowl 140+ consistently.

I hope for the next match, they go with Hasan Ali instead of Faheem. At least Hasan Ali might pick up some wickets. Seems funny to me that Hasan Ali & Faheem have identical batting AVG in ODI's but Hasan Ali SR is 117 versus 85 for Faheem. Hasan Ali also has 2 50's versus 1 for Faheem. And yet Faheem is considered some allrounder when he is bad at both batting & bowling. I find it hard to make any sense why Faheem is in the side.

Abrar should replace Faheem

Farhan should replace Abdullah (? give him another game) in the second or third game. We need to be bench-ready.

Abrar or Nawaz for Faheem

Even though would've liked Farhan to be given a go in ODI's instead of Shafique but that won't be happening anytime yet.

Day games. Batting first would be a good decision unless there is excessive moisture in the pitch early on

Both teams should be able to get reverse and spin at the back end of the innings with dew out of the picture.

Had good hot sun yesterday and there is a good chance of that continuing again. Should be an even contest with bat and ball for both teams. Windies could pull a surprise. Pakistan however are clear favorites.

But bro i don't fanny west indies against spinners of pakistan with abrar nawaz agha saim that is going to be spin fest.
Won't matter if Pakistan can't post a solid total. The batting is woefully weak without fakhar and Farhan.

Can't rely on Hasan Nawaz forever.

I am worried about the pace bowling department hassan ali will go for plenty pakistan need to look beyond these current crop time to gamble on youngsters

Shafique
Babar
Rizwan

All in one line up

I feel like doing ulti! Hesson needs to get a grip! This line up isn’t fit to play in South Africa 2027

Here comes nawaz again. Sufiyan needs more matches and i am sure he will produce in ODIs also as he haa potential. But this stupid management dont want to give him chances as they want shadab to be back by playing nawaj

Pakistan playing with two specialist fast bowlers in just Shaheen and Hasan Ali. Better hope this is a spin friendly pitch.

Pakistan continue to persist with their strategy of being short on bowlers. Maybe Shadab coming back would help balance out the side better where he could slot in for Talat and then you maintain the batting depth while having another bowling option. We'll see but Pakistan need to find/develop more allrounders.

Not sure why Hope chose to bowl first. Terrific square drive by Saim.

Would be nice if Pakistan can start playing aggressive in PP's like other teams and at least challenge themselves to score 60-70 runs. It's strange that Pakistan had more aggressive batting in the PP 2-3 decades ago than now.

Dead bat Shafique should not be playing international white ball cricket.
His first intent is to block everything

1(7). I just hate this approach no matter if he ends up with 100(70). But that’s me.

Hesson can't drop an XI with more than 3 pure bowlers.

How on earth Parchi Shafiq keeps getting selected after 3 consecutive ducks?
Because Rizwan is making sure Sahibzada doesn’t get more limelight and exposure

That’s not in his best interest for T20s

Shafique is no threat to him.

Look at these beautiful shots

Can you imagine, Babar and Rizwan were opening in T20s ahead of him?

Also Shafiq has good connection to play in the team just like M Nawaz and Faheem!!!!

This series was a perfect opportunity to brood in Farhan and get him ready for SA 2027

He will love the tracks there with the pace and bounce with his fast hands.

Shafique serves no purpose in the long run.

Saim with 22 runs off 5 deliveries (four 4's & one 6) but has 1 run off his other 23 deliveries. Lots and lots of dots.

Hope the guys can work on some of their strike rotation in the PP.

The problem is, what’s the point of rotating when you know you really won’t get the strike back from the other end with a guy intent on blocking?

That’s why Saim is just looking for boundaries. He knows he has to do the scoring.
