If Chanderpaul gets his hundred today then he will be number test batsmen overtaking Younus Khan

No he's going to send us to sleep before achieving the milestone.

We are not in a hurry.
Nash 99(233) - Chanderpaul 77(217)
Current partnership 207 runs, 71.5 overs, RR: 2.88 (Chanderpaul 76, Nash 99)
WI 410-4 after 129 overs - trail by 136
last 10 overs 26-0

Nash has been on 98-99 for last 20-25 min

England is now second in the tally of highest extra in one inning Insh Allah they will overtake Pakistan, they are 4 away from it
This is now the second-highest extras in an innings. Oh dear. Oh, and the highest in the Caribbean too. Statastic

Maiden century by Nash congratulations B. NAsh!!
Sir Viv stands to applaud him, as does the whole crowd. A terrific, fighting innings from an impressively determined character and batsman

He's not been as dour as usual doing this innings, well not until the last half hour or so, well played to him, let's see if extras can catch him up now.

We can assume that the number extra's given are the number of runs Sarwan scored

"I would be extremely concerned if I were Mrs. Prior - can he handle his new born baby safely or let it slip right through his hands?" chortles Jay J. Fair enough, but this is one of the hardest places in the world to keep wicket. Ask Jack Russell, one of the best glovemen England have ever had, who found it incredibly difficult.

W.I fighting there way to a drawn test and a fully deserved series win here!

"Nasser Hussain said he would strip naked in the middle of the pitch if Windies reach 500. He must be down to his underwear by now"

I guess hes down to his underpants now!

I remember Chanderpaul had an average around 45 just a few years ago, now its 50 !
he has been in some great form in the last 2 years.

Chanderpaul has been averaging 100+ over last two years! Hes a class act!

Nash gone after lunch!

Ryan hinds has now joined Chanders at the crease.

140.5 Swann to Chanderpaul, no run, an edge, is it? Big spin, Prior takes, and that's out! Or is it? Chanderpaul has called for the referral, and this is interesting. There is a noise - the replays are largely inconclusive, but did his bat clip his boot? Cracking delivery either way.

This delay is interminable. There seems no conclusive reason to overturn the decision ... but that is what has happened!

Well well. It might be the right decision, but on the available evidence it's been given for the wrong reasons. So, on we go

Chanderpaul was on 92

148.4 Swann to Chanderpaul, FOUR, there it is! On the back foot, crunched down the ground through mid-on, and that is his 21st Test century, and potentially one of the most priceless of his career. Well batted sir

148.6 Swann to Chanderpaul, SIX, well well, that's the way to celebrate a century! Down on one knee, a full flourishing swing of the bat, and that is mown high and handsome over midwicket

It always comes as a surprise to see Chanderpaul thwack quick runs, even though he once scored a century from about 67 balls (from memory). He's so good, he has a choice of tempos

Chanders 111(290) - Hinds 19(29)
WI 477-5 after 150 overs @ 3.18 - trail by 69 runs

Match ref might want to look at Swann's choice of words to Hinds as he was leaving...

Although I doubt it!

WI 496-6 after 156 overs. 4 runs to go
WI trail by 50 runs

Why the hell are they playing Bollywood music in between overs via the PA system?

Oh, Monty's coming onto bowl...

There's the 500 up for West Indies and all eyes are on Nasser Hussain who promised to strip naked if they reached the landmark - cricinfo

W.I 519/6 - Chanders 133* Ramdin 15*

W.I should get a good lead here... id like to see Gayle come out again and play some banjo shots!

16 Hundreds in the series. The wickets have been pretty placid all series. Englands one and only collapse looks like has cost them the series.

Then again they have won 1 of their last 9 test matches and that was the dead rubber at the oval!

TEA

WI: 519-7

Ramdin LBW - Anderson on the stroke of tea.

Been their best bowler today

I have heard a lot about Montys appealing from this thread, but from the short time I have seen of the match [yesterday teatime], there was no mention of it. No doubt if it was Pak or even India, they would be replaying a montage any chance they get.

I think they are calling it a 'more aggressive Monty, which is good to see'

Replace that with a Pak player, and Commenators / Match Ref would be on his ar5e like a rash!

Interesting move by Chris Gayle come out to bat after tea.

Anderson drops Gayle! Straight up in the air, swirling swirling.......right through his hands

First real aggressive shot by Gayle, took one hand off in the end, high and not very handsome, Anderson made a horlix of it. and he goes next ball, good catch by strauss

Very next ball Strauss takes a great catch, one handed and it stuck.

Gayle gone

Jimmy Anderson has bowled well in this inns without getting the rewards. Collingwood drops Chanderpaul off his bowling now, pretty routine catch. I think tiredness had a part to play in that one.

The record being the most no of extras, currently held by Pakistan with 76. One record we don't want a jinx thread for. :D

Broad gets Edwards, in the interest of some excitement hope Lionel baker goes quickly. at least England will have no option but to attack, lets open with KP!

On feild umpire gives Baker lbw, which is contested.... hawk eye says missing off stump

Close LBW referral - should go in the Windies favour!

end of the agony, Pakistan keep the record. England lead by a massive 2 runs!

178.4 Swann to Baker, OUT, has Matt Prior's Bye World Record Attempt (BWRA) been thwarted, and have England taken the first-innings lead? Baker offers no stroke as the ball pitches outside off and raps the pad. The finger goes up, but sure enough, it has gone to a referral. Yowch, that is tight. The ball would, I reckon, have skimmed the outside of the off stump, hence the bails would have come off, and therefore, though it is marginal, it is the correct call
LS Baker lbw b Swann 0 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

WI 544 all out after 178.4 overs. England has 2 run lead
17.2 overs remaining today

Three hundreds in the innings, and a fantastic unbeaten 74 from EX Tras, who played a total blinder, and would surely have broken the world record, given another ten minutes or so.

Chris Gayle - what a leader! Takes the field!

Whats with the 'press ups' one of the Windies player does in their 'huddle'?

Chanders's must curse his luck that timeless tests aren't played these days.

T20 cricket needed from England - better to go down 2-0 looking for a win, then a tame draw.

Could be a great 120 overs of cricket

last year people were calling this english side as the best in the World....Where is alec stewart now??? i want to show him the level of the english side

There was a huge snick, but umpire didn't give it out, referred of course

Jeez! Pathetic umpiring continues!

Given NOT OUT

Referral

I heard the nick from 3000 miles away!

This referral system is poorly managed.

Aleem Dar might have to give this not out.

And the farce will continue...

MASSIVE EDGE

Jesus.

Not out.

So Aleem Dar had to say goodbye to his common sense to make that decison, and just go off the TV picture.

This is A FARCE, with technology they are making more mistakes than on the field.

YOu know its a farce when a great umpire is put in a position to HAVE to make a decison like that.

Its like sending someone to climb Mount Everest in swimming trunks!
