Thankfully the umpire gave it out this time otherwise we might have had a repeat of the Strauss decision, there was no visible deflection this time.

3.1 Baker to Strauss, no run, outside off, Strauss goes for a cut and edges it behind! Easy catch for Ramdin but, hang on - Harper's turned it down! Well, this is quite bizarre. Gayle doesn't know whether to laugh or cry, but opts for the former as he refers it. Replays show that there wasn't much deviation, but there was a loud and clunky noise, so can the third umpire (Aleem Dar) uphold the original Harper decision? We're still waiting. And we're still waiting. And - it's not-out. Well, this is all utterly bonkers and we move onto the next farcical delivery for more. How Harper could give that not-out is not only confusing, but a worrying indication that these referrals are now affecting umpires' judgement on the field. That's how I read it, anyway.

And Shah out ct behind off Baker
England 27-2 after 6 overs

Stage set up perfectly for KP who hasn't had as prolific a series as he would have hoped, still averaging over 50 though.

Shah flops in a game that has seen over a thousand runs and 6 centurians!

lbw shout against Cook, turned down, Gayle doesn't go for a referral. Probably thinking it wouldn't have been given, whether it was out or not.

Did Shah miss his chance? 2-3 tests on flat pitches and got some starts but didn't deliver.

Botham confirms what I said, he could see a deflection with Strauss's dismissal too.

KP showing some much needed aggression. Cook playing test match cricket at the other end??

Cook's turn to call for a review - given out caught behind

Lets wait...

I think its NOT OUT - and Harper's made another terrible decison.

Collingwood struck on the pad 1st ball!

Windies go for their 2nd referral

NOT OUT!

72-3

All happening here!

What a way to finish!
Last ball of the day, fast, sharp bouncer (92mph) and Pietersen gets something on it and it goes for 4.

That last ball was a pleasure to watch, like the good old days for the West Indian cricket. Worth the admission money alone.

Edwards to Pietersen, FOUR, my god that was deadly. 92.6mph bouncer which flew off and practically killed him. He realised, only too late, that he was in trouble while trying to hook and it flew up at his head, perhaps top-edging it or perhaps it came off his helmet. One of the deadliest deliveries of this series and a joy to behold for everyone apart from Pietersen

Dramatic!

They have 3 or 5 referrals per innings right?

England 82 ahead with 7 wickets in hand and 90 overs to play.

England recon they need 200 lead to have a go at west indies.

With KP still out there they could get up to 220 lead by lunch or just after and then declare.

An intresting final day!

I actually think the Windies have a better chance of victory, England could easily get bowled out for 150-170.

That would be a good thing as game would open up!

A drawn series in New zealand, a possible test series win v england here!

W.I are improving slowly!

Day 5 about to commence

England will have to play some T20 cricket and set the Windies a chasabale target!

Could be a great few hours of cricket!!

I thnk England might just do it!

KP and Prior the key batsmen for england here as they are the ones who can score quickly.

Intresting to see W.I bowling approach here!

England will have to declare with about 50 overs left in the match and hope for a collapse. The target will be around 260

100 up for England.

Fidel bowling with some fire - joker umpire wides him for nearly taking off KP's head.

Terrible umpires on display

Stunning fielding from Simmons - KP just survives I think a run out!

If KP goes england will be in trouble. England need to ensure they get atleast a 200 lead!

Windies looking sharp - in the head as well - not known for that!

KP going for it.

Improvising shots like Mianadad

A few switch-hits also

Eng 118-4 (leade by 120)

KP and prior in ODI mode here! W.I need to make sure they dont leak runs to fast here!

138-4

Lead is 140.

No idea why Simmons is coming onto bowl? Force a declaration?

England could be 250 ahead by Lunch here!

W.I need wickets.. giving to many easy runs could back fire!

Joke bowling getting the treatment.

Boundaries galore

157-4

Lead 159

Umpire warns Hinds for bowling wide down leg stump

England wouldn't dare win this. would they? I think we deserve at least a tied series to be honest, although I bet nobody here agrees...

Apart from 1 session, Eng have probably dominated the series, for the longer periods of time.

But Strauss miscalculated the declaration in that test - and is paying for it.

Over a 100% strike-rate for both KP and Prior!! amazing, but the real question is how long can they keep it up?

170 lead, 8 runs an over, 77 overs to go. I dunno, like give them 2 sessions to get 260? a bit generous but no point in being cautious now. the lost series against South Africa, Sri Lanka and India were disappointing but could at least be called admirable, but to lose this one would be undeniably poor.

Pietersen 73(62) - Prior 39(30)
Current partnership 71 runs, 8.5 overs, RR: 8.03 (Pietersen 28, Prior 39)

last 10 overs 77-1
Eng 172-4 after 28 overs - lead of 174
76 overs left

what's the fastest test century by an Englishman to date?

oh :( so he won't beat that. but there's a chance of a good hundred here, I know its a flat pitch and mickey mouse bowling, but it's still better than most players would do.

Boy they really want to win the Test. Can't help thinking they left it a bit too late. This positivity was missing in key sessions of the series.

I agree. That one session has been the difference.

Although if that session hadn't happened, I doubt the rest of the series would have gone the way it has.

In hindsight WI might have played differently. England had their opportunity. But Windies showed resolve. Atleast for that effort West Indies deserves a win.

Must be tempting to play on for another 6 overs after lunch.

I think they should. Doesn't make sense to declare now. It was either 10 minutes ago or a little while after lunch.

They should have declared 10 mins ago - that options gone.

Must be the final over.

With KP on 99* - one lusty over!

I'd like to see 6 sixes in a test match over!

KP gets his 16th test century.

Good inngs.

Prior's knock has probably cost them in a funny way!

start off with a single. :)

I agree about the declaration though. Would've been perfect timing/target.

I think England should declare at lunch, that way they dont lose 2 over due to change of inns!

Good hundred by KP here!

What are the chances there was disagreement in the England camp this last half hour?

declare NOW!!

you have to make WI think they can win so they might play their shots

Gayle factor is probably in their minds. I hope he gets going though, that'll bring the required rate down.

Gayle's been off the pitch for about 40 mins.

He wont be able to open

1-0 or 2-0 who cares.

England should be thinking attacking

Sir Ian Botham laying into Strauss's for his declaration timing.

Says 'how are you going to bowl Windies out in 60 overs on this pitch'?

England think tank seem to be lacking in the very basic communication skills here!

England declare

West Indies need 240 to win (min. 66 overs)

Smith and Simmons out to open!

Will W.I have a go at this?

Windies lose a wkt

Simmons caught at slip - Anderson the bowler. Colly the catcher

25-1

6.2 Anderson to Simmons, OUT, staggering catch from Collingwood at second slip! Simmons was working that into the leg-side, it skims off the leading edge, and Colly saw it late and scooped it off the turf as he dived with his right hand
LMP Simmons c Collingwood b Anderson 8 (12b 2x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Simmons stops halfway to the rope, as the dressing-room advises him to get a second opinion, but umpire Harper rightly shoos him away. You have to refer instantly, or not at all

WI need 215 more and 59.4 overs left

That wasnt a good catch by Collingwood.

It was simply AWESOME!

What a waste of a review by Windies - I can tell from here that its hitting the middle of middles, middle

Amjad Khan might be the key...or the weak link in this attempt to win.

Surprise surprise...starts off his spell with a NO BALL!
