What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Roseau, Dominica | May 10-14, 2017 | Day 5

There's definitely potential in this WI team, but they lack experienced and proven performers the youngsters can learn from. They had Shiv Chanderpaul but he was cast into the wilderness even though he's still performing in county cricket and the PCL.

We produce better spinners up here than Brummie Greggs piemasters like Moeen.

What?

WHAT?

You better not be saying Rashid is a better bowler than Moeen. :))

Rashid is a club-level hack who is only good for pyjama cricket because batsmen get themselves out, which is great for him because we all know that he can't get anybody out himself.

Just like the WI batsmen it seems Markhor is having a difficult morning session as well :)) :))

Shiv made 182 in his most recent FC game, damn shame how WICB treated him with such disrespect given how he was given the boot. WI's certainly have potential, just need more support from their board; need Bravo back as well, he is quality

In the India Test series:

Rashid took 23 wickets at an average of 37.

Moeen took 10 wickets at an average of 64. SIXTY FOUR.

I saw fewer lollipops served up in my local dessert shop.

Poor guy can't even sit back and enjoy Pakistan doing what we do, it's like nobody watched any cricket in the last 7 years.

I haven't felt this calm watching a cricket game for as long as I can remember, win or draw, I'm just happy to watch Misbah's team try to grind a team into the dirt one last time.

:salute

I win either way being 50% West Indian :yk so I can disguise my disappointment that way :)) True, we'll never see these majestic blokes again; and there's no guarantee that we'll do better in the new era which is to come, best to cherish this all and take it in while we can regardless

:))) @Big Mac I've never heard of Batley ??

I've got friends and family in Batley, it's not that far from Leeds, next to Dewsbury if you know where that is. It's full of apne who spend all their time at the mosque because there is nothing else to do in that godforsaken little town.

It's either go to the masjid or join in with these folks:

Moeen Ali destroyed the Indians in England, Rashid will forever be in his shadow no matter what he acheives from here; for a bowler with so much experience and investment from ECB as a spinner you'd have thought his figures would be a lot better, an average of 37 in favourable conditions is nothing to boast about. Ali is the more valuable cricketer from England's perspective.

Markhor Ali has actually won Tests for his country, what has Rashid ever done that compares besides that fifer against Ireland? :yk :broad

So many beautiful Misbah reactions going ungiffed :*(

Its OK, the Brummies need all the relief they can get from the hard time they've been having lately being 23 points behind Yorkshire in the County Championship :ma

shaz619, your man is on the screen :)) I have half a mind to find a stream so I can record him :))

Before I took over the captaincy, whenever Younis and I were together, for Pakistan or anywhere, we used to talk about how, when our time came, what we would do to make things right, what we would do to improve. We were together as newcomers in the Pakistan team for a bit early on and we always knew what things we'd like to change. We talked about, for example, looking after a youngster in the side, to see how he is coping, how he is being treated, how to make him feel more a part of the side, how to look after him, to give him a comfortable environment, how seniors should treat him.

We talked about how we would show them how we train, to set a pattern for them. He used to say, when it is our time, we will do things this way, not that way. And then when that time came, in 2010, we tried to go through on those things. We tried to create the environment on and off the field that we spoke about.

Up to the next generation to carry on their legacy

They are building a partnership again. If we can't these batsman out how will get the tail?

Cheeky lad, deceiving the foreigners with regards to how the county points system works :)) but ahmedwaqas92 is a smart lad; he knows that a win results in 16 points and that we're only 3 matches into the county championship so that lead is as big as veteran pie chucking Rashid's over Moeen as a spinner; very marginal :broad Big Mac

Hasan Ali hitting 89mph. Not bad for a supposed "trundler" according to some.

Look at the concern on West Indian fans faces absolutely love it, that is love for the game and their team right there! but but *cricket is dead in the Caribbean*

Nobody wants to miss a Younis blinder at first slip or seeing a bowler take a wicket and run straight to Misbah to celebrate their plan working one final time.

:salute

Good cricket from Chase, be patient and wait for the bad balls

I deserve an international cap. No joke, I bet I'd be a better test leggie than Adil Rashid.

:))) I wouldn't bet against that, but given that it's not your speciality how about you allow me to do the honours being a leg spinner? you can captain Yorkshire instead, I hear you're very charitable

hahahahahahahaha Ramiz praising the Windies for batting with freedom, "easy on the eye" comparing them favourably to the Pakistani approach which resulted in 2.56 RPO in the first innings

The Windies run rate...

2.32 RPO :raja :raja :raja

ramiz is a closet india fan, would be awesome if we could put him on mute alone

Come back to Harborne and prove it :mv

Hope we get one last Younis Khan slip catch. Been such a constant at that position over the years, will be strange not seeing him there anymore.

Thankfully the last day of what is comfortably the worst bilateral series in the world. It doesn't get any worse than WI vs Pakistan in WI. Unfortunately, after the Champions Trophy, there is no quality cricket in sight considering we will be playing SL. I guess the tours of England and Australia have spoiled us.

Hasan Ali is the best thing to have happened to Pakistan cricket in a long time.

See, never any need to panic.

You gotta have faith in the method, not easy to survive the slow Boa constrictor like suffocating of this team.

:salute

Won't you be following these games?

Good spell from Hasan Ali rewarded with a wicket.

He has been a great find.

Playing test cricket will improve Hasan Ali.

One good selection by the revolutionary
