Some positive intent from this pair

This is realistically their best chance of getting a result instead of playing defensive

Noman gets into the action and windies are 5 down now as LUNCH is taken on day 3...

Still 197 more runs needed to win

Batsmen have no chance on this pitch. Just one partnership of 141. if you take that out the scores will look like 89, 137, 157, 54/5

As expected 100 is going to be hard to cross for the Windies.

Athanaze looks pretty good so far though.

Harakiri from the WI. There has to be some game and situation awareness ie last over before lunch and you play a cross bat slog. These conditions require technique, discipline with the odd calculated risk.

I’m at the stadium today. Presently surprised by how decent and clean it is.

The projector screen is reallt small and glares too much under the sun.

Security is also annoyingly tight. They don’t allow for parking, most people get dropped off 500m from the stadium and they have to walk in.

They initially didn’t allow me to bring my bag in. But after some haggling, they allowed me

So I can see why people don’t really turn up to the games.

variable bounce is making it tricky. Middling the ball on a track like this is very had as you are both horizontally and vertically challenged by the ball.

Pakistan deserves to lose this Test match and series. This pitch is a mockery of Test cricket and a disrespect to fast bowlers. What’s the point of picking fast bowlers in the squad even for such home Test matches? The 90s Test cricket home pitches were so good that they had help for both spinners and fast bowlers, and batsmen could bat too and score big.

This looks straight out from the 70's.

You want to win or you want style points?

I had an interaction with Bishop once on social media. He said he will always be positive about West Indies cricketers no matter how they perform. He is a very patient guy. I would have totally give up following cricket with a team like this.

Very similar situation in Pindi. They don't make much of an effort to make the fan experience better

I think fast bowlers also did well in that series if i am right. Kyle abbot, Mone Morkel, Umesh. You are right. wreckers in chief were Ashwin and Jadeja. Destroyed them.
not much they turned a pacer friendly wicket like Mohali into a spinners wicket..india was lucky that they won the toss in Mohali.. even the 3rd test pitch was very bad

Urooj is difficult to listen to as commentator. She just repeats what the other experts talk about 😂😂 like a kid repeating lesson in classroom

Pakistan has another golden opportunity to make the WTC final in the next cycle:

South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka at home.
Bangladesh, West Indies and England away.

That is very easy schedual for pakistan just like South Africa has in current cycle .

Easily they can win most of series bar England .

I concur, also her voice just grates (which is not her fault), on multiple occasions I've found myself turning the volume down as soon as she starts commentating. Imho Sana Mir has more insight as far as female Pakistani commentators go.

Honestly think pakistan don't need doctored pitch to win the series' against Westindies at home .they can win easily on normal pakistan pitches

They are playing this series just before the champions trophy and most of batters are struggling due to pitch which is not good sign for them .

Even in England they have not done as poorly as they do in Australia and South Africa. Although in recent times the pitches in England have gotten far flatter.

They definitely went too far in this match. The pitches in the England series were in the sweet spot: runs to be scored if you applied yourself, but also plenty of turn on-offer.

Yes this is unplayable pitch compared to England series which were not that bad .

Imlach is a very good find for West Indies behind the stumps. Keeping well on this type of pitch for a non-Asian wicketkeeper on his first tour is serious achievement.

Reminds me of some of the pitches India were dishing out in 2015. Remember the South Africa series? That was a really fun series to watch
Yes. That series where pitch were unplayable but after that in 2016 during the series vs England most of pitch was flat still india won the series 4-0 . England scored 450+ in first innings yet india won by an innings .

india dishes out turning pitches depending on result and strength of opposition.. after losing against england on a good pitch they went for crap pitches..again they went on a turning track esp help for left arm spinner against australia but when australia found rhythm they rolled out a flat track in 4th match

India won the series against Australia on a bouncy pitch at the dharmshala. India pacers were out bowled Australia Pacers and won the series 2-1

:kp

This partnership is getting worrying..the fact is we CAN prepare these wickets which they were saying we couldnt.
Secondly the MAIN issue is we cant play spin nor pace and thus is the reason we prepare phattas so our batters escape.

not series , final test..that too because india lost on a turner in pune..first two test was turner third was flat and fourth was on good track..it was not a pacer friendly..kuldeep and lyon picked wickets

India has all the type pitch condition unlike most of countries where one type pitches are available .

India neither played a test on used pitch nor used industrial fan to doctored the pitch

:kp

6 down , Pakistan need 4 wickets to win.

More importantly Shan's record after this game will be

P 11 W 3 D 0 L 8

Win percentage 27.7% to be precise

@Rana

Athanzee looks class..just woke up and was expecting to see 300 plus target but not surprised to see us collapsing again we were very very lucky in 1st innings

Riz and Saud partnership was the difference between both the team .

Remove that partnership both tean has similer score .

india doesnt play on hard bouncy track pitches nor play on green seamer.. once in a while a fast bowler friendly pitch is prepared by accident of becasue of strong state association like Bengal..bangalore test turned out to eb seamer friendly because of the condition..india may not be using industrial fan but they doctor pitch alright..no shame in accepting that..home advantage is imp to get to WTC final..

Pathetic captaincy by Shan.

If a batter is playing reverse sweeps only put a fielder between point and third man to plug that gap. Don't let him score easy runs. Make him frustrate.

Do I care?

What’s your obsession with tagging me with this stuff?

What did Rizwan do today? That’s what I want to know about

250 + is a big chase even on a normal Asian pitch. Well deserved win coming up for Pakistan. Have completely outplayed the West Indies here.

Pak second innings batting has ruined my interest in the test.

Impact less, meek, timid, & absolutely a joke. Praying Windies win this & their batting stalwarts get a digital thrashing from their fans.
