It’s not just about quality of spinners, it’s also batting against quality spin. Of all the teams who have played in Pakistan since this strategy, no one has looked in control apart from Saud Shakeel. Saim Ayub and Rizwan also looked ok in patches. This is allowing Pakistan to reach 250-300 type of totals.
none of Eng and WI batters showed any method whatsoever. They try to block until they lose hope and revert to sweeps/wild swings.
NZ can be a threat with Rachin, Will Y, and Kane. Aus, SA, and most other teams will not tour well in Pakistan even Asian teams. SL’s Karunaratne has decent defensive technique but rest of team is useless.
Yes these surfaces remind me of the 1990s designer pitches under Ajit Wadekar/Azharuddin.India used to prepare these kind of surfaces in early 90s and attack with three spinners Kumble , Rajesh Chauhan and V. Raju
They started curating pitches since England 2nd testThey've won two lost two hows that lucky ?
im not saying it def will. but crazier things have happened in cricketIt will happen my friend , unless you have played cricket yourself you will not understand how difficult is to hit big on these surface.
Batting against spin is a dying art. Pakistani batters bar Saud also don’t have a method to bat here. Foreign teams have no hope.
It’s not just about having quality spinners but also batters who have a method to bat against the turning ball, which is a dying art.If the opposition bats first and makes enough runs. They can control the game. More than the batting neither ENgland nor Windies have any quality spinner. All are mediocre spinners with career average of 35, 40. WHen it becomes a low scoring shoot out it will be a nightmare. This second innings is a snapshot of what i am talking about.
First innings pitch didn't quiet actually break. Only later part of the innings pitch started offering more help. It’s not just about having quality spinners but also batters who have a method to bat against the turning ball, which is a dying art.
The reason for Pakistan’s wins are not a lack of quality spinners but the presence of saud Shakeel and 1-2 guys who can chip in.
why not? There is a method to bat on these pitches. You can't blame batsmen here though. Ball is spitting like a cobra. Just skids through. Some keep low. Some bounce. Most of them turn sharply of the pitch.
WHat did Saud do in the second innigns? He batted well in the first innings.why not? There is a method to bat on these pitches.
Saud Shakeel must be given credit here. He’s averaged 40+ in the 3 tests on these pitches.
Wrong. They need to be aggressive. Surviving even 30 to 40 overs I'd hard. 50 to 60 impossible. So they need to target finishing the game in 40 overs or so max. Maybe even 30 overs like an extended t20 match.West Indies can win this game. They just need to be patient
International batters have struggled more in first innings too. England won the toss, batted first but still got out batter.First innings pitch didn't quiet actually break. Only later part of the innings pitch started offering more help.
These guys are not naturally aggressive players. They could have included Jango guy. That guy looked more assured against spin.Aggression is their only option. Might as well go for it.
but they also scored big on these pitches kambli sachin sidhu azhar getting hundreds.. kambli also got double hundredIndia used to prepare these kind of surfaces in early 90s and attack with three spinners Kumble , Rajesh Chauhan and V. Raju
You wanted 250Aggression is their only option. Might as well go for it.
That was a world class spin bashing unit. NOthing comes close to that. Sidhu, Azharuddin, Kambli, Peak Sachin. later on Ganguly.but they also scored big on these pitches kambli sachin sidhu azhar getting hundreds.. kambli also got double hundred
Your feed is atleast 3 balls lateFour
Looks like WI will play positive here , and try to put the bowlers under pressure.
Yes , defending will not go well , need to take chances.Aggression is their only option. Might as well go for it.
You can go from 75/0 to 88/6 in no time on this pitch. New comers will struggle massively. If these two can get 50 - 75 , Pakistan bowlers mettle will be tested.
More than sehwag technique was his attitude against spinners , I think he even said somewhere that he does not consider off spinners as bowlersTo play well on these pitches you have to be good enough to play against the spin. Sehwag, Laxman were exceptional playing against spin even on square turners.
But they won the 3rd England test despite losing the toss so don't think their success so far can be attributed to winning tosses. They started curating pitches since England 2nd test

nothing compared to kohli shastri special against south africa in 2015Yes these surfaces remind me of the 1990s designer pitches under Ajit Wadekar/Azharuddin.
You wanted 250
I think fast bowlers also did well in that series if i am right. Kyle abbot, Mone Morkel, Umesh. You are right. wreckers in chief were Ashwin and Jadeja. Destroyed them.nothing compared to kohli shastri special against south africa in 2015
