What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Roseau, Dominica | May 10-14, 2017 | Day 5

Wish we had a Roston Chase at #6, would balance our side perfectly.

How's he the best Asian commie going around? Good knowledge isn't the benchmark of calling someone a best commie, there are many commies who tick that box. there are many other aspects one has to fulfill to become a quality commentator. A commie has to possess the flair, verbal fluency coupled with knowledge of the game, situational awareness and an ability to excite the audience with oral narration of unfolding action in real time, and Bazid Khan is lazy and poor on all fronts.

Mate he is Bar far the best Pakistany commentator out there and you know why?
Because he doesn't make fool of himself like others do.

Finally some history in the making. I thought this was our best chance to win a series in West indies considering the kind of fight these young West Indians have put up in the series and if they are persisted with I am sure they will transform into a formidibble test team and it would be very tough for us to beat them when we tour them again which at the moment looks at least half a decade away. This is our chance to make history and lets hope it's not a repeat of 2000 heart break.

At least Chase is giving the crowd something to cheer about

Chase playing on a different wicket from rest

Chase batting as if he's on a Day 1 pitch and not saving a Test. Total class, and looking set for a century.

If Hasan doesn't get a wicket in this over I would replace him with Amir

Why so cruel bro ??

Poor on all fronts? He doesn't have knowledge of the game? He doesn't have situational awareness? Nonsense.

A TV commentator's job isn't to narrate the action, we can see what is happening with our own eyes. Their job is to provide context and information in addition to the TV pictures.

If you want narration, go listen to it on the radio.

Its a combination of all those factors/attributes not just one to signify a quality commentator. Bazid isn't qualified to be considered the "best commentator" going around. He's mediocre at best, an upgrade on Ramiz I'd say but that doesn't mean a thing, we all know how awful Ramiz is in the com-box.

Time for a nice off-cutter that takes the shoulder of the bat and pops up to short extra cover.

Can't believe a trundler bowling in 120s can get 5fer.

well if your are refering to abbas 5-fer in the first inns...

wahab and sami werent trundlerz yet they are brainless... asif had a trundling pace but he was the best new ball bowler pak ever had after the WW's are gone in tests...i will re-quote what i said here yesterday "the fascination on pace, swag, looking handsome, maverick was defeated by brains and skillset" Very well done by Abbas...

Caribbean crowd making noise and dancing, fans on the internet panicking, players on the field laughing and having a great time, TEST CRICKET IS THE FLIPPING BEST

Bazid is awful. Zero charisma.

Personally, I enjoy commentators either for entertainment value and/or insights. Bazid is neither entertaining nor insightful. Rameez is quite clueless most of the times but he is very entertaining. For the same purpose, I enjoy listening to Harsha, Shastri and Mark Nicholas. In terms of insight, there is no one better than Nasser and Bishop. Easily the two best commentators at the moment.

Bazid is aware of players on the domestic scene. Harsh to say he's not insightful.

Batting quicker on the day three morning and giving the bowlers a bit more time to take 10 wickets in the fourth innings certainly wouldn't have helped. Making life as difficult for yourself as possible is how proper Test cricket is played.

That's well and good but he doesn't provide any in-depth analysis for the live action. There is only so much one can hear about the domestic players.

No point trying to explain it to people who want their commentators getting excited over the most mundane occurrences because they would rather have fake excitement than actually learning something.

WI crowds have been excellent on this tour, disproving the notion that cricket is dead in the Caribbean.

Partnership of 6 overs and half hour already . . WI fighting with everything they've got

He does try to be entertaining. Doesn't always work .

Hopefully westindies have a strong test unit when we visit next time so it wont feel so frigging humiliating not being able to beat them.

Like me commentators like Waqar and Bazid can't allways talk as they want because the language limit them, had they been better in english they would have matched Nasser, Atherton etc

Has nobody told Ramiz that commentators don't get paid by the word?

Dont worry, they will only get better, very inexperienced side. Had Darren Bravo and Samuels been here things would have been different.

I wish the Chase drop doesn't come to haunt us . .

Hassan Ali is such a good fielder, real athlete

We still have the game in the bag. They will eventually crack under the pressure of saving the game, but we would have won this more comfortably had we not wasted a whole session on day 3 for 50 runs. However, the clowns on PP will still defend that tactic.

Ramiz should have stopped his sentence at "I have got no clue" :raja

Chase can still save the match for WI, he's done it before and against a tougher attack IMO. If he does it today (again), he will hands down be one of the best batsmen in the world when it comes to absorbing pressure.

It is a really poor effort by Chase to be batting at a strike rate of 53. On this pitch, his strike rate should have been less than 40, which is how you play proper, risk-free Test cricket.

Or yasir shah stops bowling from round the wicket.

Been a dogged and annoying partnership. Credit to WI, they haven't crumbled easily like past sides may have. Lot of fighting spirit in this side.

Can't believe I agree with rameez but what is this field? They have the windies on the ropes and they are acting like they're trying to defend 25 on a batters paradise. Idiotic. Misbah and Co just haven't learned their lessons from the last test.

Rambo just doesn't know what he's taking about....

He's like a young Pp'er who doesn't understand test cricket...
