Pakistan Wicket keeper Options
1. Rizwan (Should play test and odi and future test captain in place of azhar)

2. Sarfraz ( past his prime)

3. Bismillah khan ( Need him for t20s, Pakistan don't have anyone who can hit the ball hard and have amazing wicket keeping skills, he is better than rizwan and Sarfraz in t20 so should be groomed until t20 world cup comes)

4. Umar Siddiq (Talented batsman for odi but isn't a good wicket keeper very poor gloves work)

5. Rohail Nazir ( future wicket keeper for Pakistan in tests and future captain probably , should be groomed in A tours)

6. Umair Masood (a very talented player and wicket keeper needs , he also needs to play A tours)

7. Rehan Afridi (Need to keep an eye on him as he can be good for tests)

8. Mohammad Hasan ( I remember he scored 100 against England A in 4 day in England and England slectors were very impressed with him and told Basit Ali Pakistan A team coach to keep him in A tours as he will play for Pakistan)

9. Mohammad Haris ( Another talented U-19 player)

10. Zeeshan Ashraf ( Make shift wicket Keeper)

For t20s Bismillah Khan is best choice Right now and maybe haris in future

In Rizwan, you have a 5-7 year keeper and vice captain across all formats.

I think Rizwan should play in all formats. Superior wicketkeeper and superior bat in tests and might be in ODIs.

Sarfraz may be a better T20 bat, and offers an advantage of captaincy which is not there if he's not captain.

I feel Sarfraz had potential and it's a shame how he declined, but time to give Rizwan a fair go now. There's no question Rizwan is the superior wicketkeeper, so at least there's no argument on that.

I'm tempted to open with Rizwan in T20s and ODIs. He does better against pace, and he can either build a foundation or get out cheaply. At least he has wicketkeeping to fall back on.

Rehan afridi and muhammad hassan are they any good not heard of them 2 before

I am the first to admit that Mohammad Rizwan is the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the world - he is as good as BJ Watling was 4 or 5 years ago, and like Watling can bat at Number 6 in Tests and allow you to pick a fifth bowler.

Having said that, Pakistan needs to be really careful here. There's no point having a 28 year old keeper with a 34 year old reserve understudy. The argument that "Sarfraz is ready to play straight away" doesn't make up for the lack of succession planning.

To me there are 3 issues here:

1. Mohammad Rizwan is the best wicketkeeper-batsman in the world.
2. Rohail Nazir is the best young-wicketkeeper batsman in the world.
3. Babar Azam is the only current Pakistan Test batsman under the age of 30.

So my response would be as follows:

STEP 1 - IMMEDIATE
Keep Mohammad Rizwan as the Pakistan Test keeper
Elevate Rohail Nazir to be the Pakistan white-ball wicketkeeper,

STEP 2: SHORT-TERM - from mid-2021
If Rohail Nazir thrives as the white ball keeper, you have two options:

Option 1: Convert Rizwan to bat at 5 for Pakistan's Test team, with Rohail Nazir as keeper at 6.
Option 2: Retain Rizwan as keeper as well as batsman, with Rohail Nazir simply the red ball understudy and white ball first-choice.

if you consider my post above, this could be Pakistan's Test team for the 2021-23 World Test Championship cycle:

1. Shan Masood (c)
2. Sami Aslam
3. Abdullah Shafique (or Haider Ali)
4. Babar Azam
5. Mohammad Rizwan
6. Rohail Nazir (wk)
7. Shadab Khan
8. Zafar Gohar (Asia) / Faheem Ashraf (SENA)
9. Shaheen Shah Afridi
10. Haris Rauf or Mohammad Abbas
11. Naseem Shah

Lol what, even Mohammad Haris is a better prospect than Rohail

Rizwan needs to be keeping in Tests and ODIs. It is time for Bismillah Khan in T20Is. Bismillah is a useful option for ODIs too.

Mohammad Hasan is a good prospect too.

It is a shame Anop Santosh is no longer playing for PIA as he looked promising too.

That was market demand. I am actually not surprised now with most of Junaids post - after all, it sells better in PP.

Rohail did alright at U-19 level. I think he can be given a go at some point.

But, Rizwan should be the permanent keeper for now. His keeping skills are good.

Can someone explain me the hype around Bismillah Khan? I don't get it...averages 21 in T20s with a SR of 121 and he's already 30 years old. Hasn't even played PSL lately

Is mohammad Hassan any good cant see much vidoes regarding him on youtube

In tests and odis am happy for rizwan to continue but t20 we need to try someone else who has the power game

Much better than rizwan strike rate of 98

Need to give bismillah khan a chance in t20 if he does great perfect if he fails he fails but need to give him a chance

In ODI need to try Rohail Nazar as well

Is Rohail suitable for power game for T20 format? For Test and ODIs next 5 years are safe with Rizu.

I fink hes not an out and out power hitting but in terms of power hitting hes an upgrade on rizwan and is decent behind the stumps

He deserves a chance bismillah khan espically against zimbabwe

I wish I was as positive as he is. Also wish I saw this quality that he is claiming to see.

Neither of Bismillah, Hasan or Anop are / were international quality. Perhaps the only WK bat unlucky not to play for Pakistan was Umar Siddiq
