A very sensitive topic and a lot has been discussed but lets see if we can try and get to the bottom of this problem via this poll

There should be 9/11 type of service in Pakistan and police acting honestly and promptly. That's the only way we can stop crimes against women. For example, I know a friend of my brother who married a Pakistani woman and he is living in the US. In a typical relationship arguments happen so being a Pakistani male he slapped her wife. She called 9/11 and he spent a few days in jail. That's how it should be if you think it from Islamic point of view(as Pakistani men use Islam in everything they do from winning a man of the match in sports to countless other stuff.):afridi
The thing is, Pakistani men think they have bought a girl when they are marrying so they are free to do whatever they want and there is also ignorant knowledge passed on by society - Husband kay ghar say death body kay saath nikalna.) such craap. Treat her with respect she is not your personal maid.

It is due to a lack of justice. When a criminal has no fear of the law such crimes will continue in a nepotistic country like Pak.

Obvious reason - Lack of education, independence & family support . Recently read about a case where a mother of 4 was murdered by her husband & her brother said she was suffering abuse in silence because of her kids. Most women, especially in DV cases have noone to turn back to & no skills to survive/provide for themselves/ their children. Women empowerment is the key.

I personally feel its the law and order in Pakistan,

People tend to take advantage when no one there to check them, violence against women is the easiest thing to do in such a case.

Too many to say the least.

Major one is zero law and order in the country as there is no justice for anyone.

Zero accountability and zero progress.

Educate the women.

A society whose women are educated will have empowered women both mentally and financially who stand up for their rights.

Female illiteracy closely corresponds with the level of patriarchy in a society and the higher the women are educated in a society, the lower the level of patriarchy in that society and the lesser the crimes committed against them.
