After the Tahir Naseem case in Peshawar, just 3 days ago a new case appeared in Rawalpindi whose videos are being circulated on social media.

Just a few kilometers away from where i live, a person claimed he was the messenger of god, and the locals got hold of him and started to beat him. Than 2-3 guys held that person and stopped others from attacking.

Now in that video, the 2-3 guys that were stopping others from attacking him go on to say that we should call the police and let them provide justice. If he is not killed by the law than we will get him killed.

I think even the police were ignoring their calls, but finally they got hold of an officer that was ready to take the person into police custody.

It has got me thinking, what is right way of dealing with such a case?

-Just simply ignore such people and move on with your life?
-Inform the police, where the person's life is ruined for ever as he will be killed in jail by someone?
-mob violence?

I can understand the outrage but mob violence is not the solution.

Calling cops seems like the best option. Let the cops handle this.

None.

The fact that the cases even exist is the issue, now how they get dealt with. A ridiculous law based on hearsay, emotion and public pressure, literally the opposite of what a law should be.

Simple.... suspect should be innocent until proven guilty & if anyone dares to take the law into their own hand, execute them.

The sad part is...what you just said..if you said this on TV there would be fatwa's against you and someone would kill you within a few days...If you were in Pakistan. No leader in the entire country dares to even talk about this law... forget changing it. Boggles my mind.

If blasphemers are not punished, it builds up resentment among the people which is bound to flare up somewhere else. The State should provide quick punishment so that people get a closure and can go on with their lives. There should be no capital punishment, but only incarceration so that the guilty have enough time to reflect and repent.

The law itself should be abolished. People who make such claims should probably be sent to psychiatrist instead of the police.
