I have used quite a few antivirus software --> Norton, Bitdefender, Trend Micro, AVG etc.

From these, I liked Bitdefender the most. Norton was the most problematic one I used.

What about you? What is your favorite antivirus software? What is your least favorite antivirus software? :inti

I actually don't have any.

If some Indian scammer tries to hack me they would probably be able to without a problem.

What one do you currently use?

Accessing internet without an antivirus software is very risky. You should get one. :inti

I have been using Norton since last year but I am now looking to switch to Bitdefender.

I used Bitdefender before; so, I am returning to what I am comfortable with.

Haven’t had the need to download a third party Anti virus software in ages. The built in Anti virus in most systems works just fine these days unless you spend a lot of time on shady websites downloading weird stuff. :wy

Affordable subscription based services have made life much easier.

  1. Generation 6 router with hardware firewall at home.
  2. All home laptops are Windows 11 24H2 with latest patches applied
  3. All Windows 11 systems use Windows Defender
  4. Don't download junk

This is not a good idea.

@sweep_shot The builtin Windows Defender seems to perform well, any thoughts?

@LordJames what can the Indian scammers do to me without this software in place? I don't view any porn sites or download stuff on my laptop. I send emails and watch YouTube/PP. Is it still risky?

  1. Antivirus is not to stop hackers so a good antivirus will do not do much to stop a scammer.
  2. Antivirus will also not do much if your operation system (e.g. windows) is not up to date
When browsing the Internet, you could come across an already infected site which can inject your device. You could also download an attachment via email which could compromise you.

Sometimes a software update for an existing application on your device could also be infected.

I don't know which device you are using but if it is windows, update it and it already comes with an antivirus protector.

Windows Defender. I do not trust it since it is free. But, I think it is not a bad one.

I personally like Bitdefender the most. Bitdefender also has a very high rating online.
