What score can Pakistan chase in the 4th innings?

Unless any miracle happen we cannot save this match. S Africa will score at least 400 if not 470 and no way we can chase 300+ in 4th innings.

300+

The way Markram and Van Der Dussen are batting, I do not see Pakistan getting bowled out on this pitch.

Let's hope that the middle order will be good for a couple of centuries then, because I can guarantee you we will be 24-2 or something similar with both openers back in the hut.

I'd back Pakistan to chase anything under 300 comfortably.

Doubt they would want to chase much more than 100 ideally. Depends how much they concede when batsmen start swinging freely.

Took the words from my mouth. Only thing that gives me comfort is that Mahraj will be heavily depended on as I don’t see Linde doing much.

I admire your faith but that ain't gonna happen lol, besides this next innings will be low scoring. Key for Day 4 is Nauman Ali and Yasir Shah. I would advise Pakistan not to sleep on Bauvama and Linde as they play a brand of fearless cricket.

Anyways good luck to both teams in what will be the final day (most likely) tomorrow.

150 is still something that pak would be looking at max to chase. Once target goes up to 200 it favours a SA win.

We need to run thru SA on day 4.

we cant chase..end of..lets hope they can do it..As mentioned above, we will lose both openers so the pressure will be immense. I'll be very surprised if we chase anything above 140.

Id say max 170 to 180 but i prefer 140 or less.
Anything over 200...no chance.

Pakistan have chased multiple targets of 200 + in the fourth innings at the NSK in the past. Generally NSK is a wicket, which gets better and better and doesn't deteriorate as much. So Pakistan should chase anything below 250 here. Last time Pak won against SA in Pakistan was back in 2003, when Pak chased 160 with the loss of only 2 wickets. This match could go the same way.

Thing is that was then and this is now, however i would be inclined to bowl out SA for a low score and i hope it's around the 100 mark, because i think 150 will be quite competitive on a day 4/5 pitch. Only thing that gives us solace is that SA have Mahraj as a dependent spinner and i don't see Linde being handy.

Anything below pak faviourites. 200 to 250 evenly poised. 250 plus And its going to be tough for pak. But realistically i dont see how the Sa middle order are going to score 200 more runs.

SA are now effectively 29-4. i'd be very confident if we can get them out for a lead of 150.

I have to say I'll be nervous if they have to chase anything more than 150.

This is a shaky and unpredictable line-up, anything is possible.

Will win comfortably because SA spinners won't be able to bowl like Yasir in 4th inns.
Likely target will be around 100-110
But can easily chase 200+ also

Above 250 if SA manage to set then it is cause for concern

Quintons wicket is key tomorrow

Hopefully Pakistan can restrict them to under 100

SA is 29/4.

Pakistan is a firm favorite here.

Anything less than 150 and Pak should win. Between 150-200 will be an even game. Anything more than 200 and it will be a surprise if Pakistan win.

Pakistan are never favourites when they have to bat last :(

A lot will depend on Azhar and Babar. If they fail, this could go horribly wrong.

National holiday should be declared if we are to chase 200+ easily.

I don't get why people are so concerned. Relax everyone. The game is in the bag.

1. They are 29/4 with a long tail, max they are getting another 100-150 runs.
2. They do not have a leg spinner or top quality finger spinner
3. The pitch hasn't broken apart and still decent enough to bat just how when we batted on day 2.
4. This is NSK - Karachi, we are not playing in Cape Town or Gabba. Our batsmen can bat with much more ease even on 4th day.
5. For once our batting goes down to number 10. We could even send Hasan in the middle somewhere to strike some blows and reduce target.
6. Both openers and Babar failed in first innings, at least one of those 3 will get a decent score in second innings on this ground.
