Pakistan brittle batting line up often capitalises.

What would you say has been Pakistan worst start in a match?

For me nothing beats Irfan Pathan hatrick in a Test match! 3 devastating blows in the first over.

That match remains sweet in my memory for Kamis heroics and the fact that pak still won, but horrible start, the west indies one is actually a record for the worst start to an odi match so doubt that will be topped.

This match actually makes me proud and my heart fills with pride. Easily one of the greatest and underrated wins in cricket history. Very few teams have recovered from a first over hattrick and went on to win the match - let alone the 300+ thumping margin we registered

That was an amazing match, one for memory lane.

50/9 at lunch on day 1 against Australia at Sharjah in October 2002, embarrassment doesn't quite cover the sentiment.

Pakistan were 0/3 (lost 3 wickets within 1st over) against South Africa at home.

I think that was one of the worst starts for Pakistan ever.

Honorable mention: 43 all out against West Indies.

At one stage Pakistan were 14/6

I remember we were 47 all our vs SAF in Johannesburg in 2013

0/3

Butt, YK and Mohammad Yousuf all out.

Still went on to win by 341 runs.

2006 Karachi, oh what a match.

Karachi test v India. We were 39 for 6 :)))

Still totally demolished them in that game.

Kolkatta Test 1999. Pakistan were 26/6. Recovered from that and still won. This match is mostly remembered for Shoaib Akhtar's two insane deliveries to Dravid and Sachin.

Especially if you’re from the UK, waking up at what 2am(?) for the match and your eyes are half closed, struggling to read and believe the score.

I was watching that game with a group of friends and at one point we all just started laughing, it was so ridiculous.

West Indies game in 2015 WC. We were 1-4

I am sure Pakistan history is litered with such performances but I recall this vividly.

The match was extremely early in Canada here and I recall waking up to it and turning the TV on and seeing the score. Initially, I thought it was 4 runs and 1 out, which wasn't great but it happens. Only to see one of the batsmen take a single and watch the score tick up and being in complete & utter shock they were down 4 wickets for one run. I immediately turned the TV and went to bed.

The entire 2015 WC is truly shameful stuff and has to be the least talented squad Pakistan ever used in WC.

That Karachi Test 2006 - turned out to be an amazing test.

ODI against SA at home in 2000 I think? Scorecard was 19/6 before Azhar Mahmood, Shoaib Malik and Moin Khan dragged Pak to 152.

Seems like Pakistan are overdue for another collapse - continuously playing Zimbabwe has delayed it!

Just checked the scorecard and saw it was 1-4 while chasing 310

ROFL

I remember getting up at 3am for that match. It was pretty early here too. And what a waste it was from the first innings to the epic football-like scoreline.

I’m pretty sure the 4th wicket was lost before we got to double figures. We were chasing a good score (around 280) but only ended up falling a few runs short.

Pakistan we’re also 0 for 3 against NZ in a 1983 world cup group match. Illustrious trio of Mohsin, Muddassar and Zaheer being the wickets.

Also remember waking up to Pakistan being about 5 for 3 against Zimbabwe in an ODI in 2004, been in that sort of position a few times but this was against a struggling team that had just lost about 20 of its top players. Did recover to win comfortably in the end.

Ind Vs Pak (0-3)
WI vs Pak (1-4)
WI vs PAk (105 allout). This was worst start of the tournament which costed our place into semis.

Worth nothing it has been quite different under Babar's era. Pakistan have become a much better chasing and overall batting side. There's still work to do but there is far more consistency.

WI match in 2019 WC is probably the only match in the past few years where Pakistan pulled a Pakistan. Maybe that T20 match vs Zimbabwe where they couldn't chase down a low total but it was a totally disgusting pitch.

One that i always remember is 1st match in asian test championship at Calcutta in 99. Pak were like 25 for 6/7 in first innings before moin played a great rescue knock.

Playing in SA, Aus and England will test them but I hope there are no such collapses

There were too many, but the worst one has to be that 3rd Test at Karachi. Although Pak won that match, that spell from Irfan was lethal.

we love giving india a head start before beating them :)))

0/3 against S.A in 1999 or 2000 in Pakistan and 16/4 same game chasing 270 odd. We almost did it as well thanks to Azhar

Correction it was 1997 and were 0/3 and 9/4

Irfan Pathan is the obvious one in Test cricket.

In LOIs, the last world cup match against the West Indies in England comes to mind.
