What's new

What was the last thing you ate?

Iftar meal includes???

Sub continent people generally have couple of items on the menu.
Do people in Pakistan also drink babribeoul treish for aftaar.

For people wondering what it is.
Kashmiris have a rich tradition of ending their daily fast at sunset in the month of Ramdhan with a sweet gelatinous drink of basil seeds. Locally it is called Babribeoul Treish. Babribeoul Treish is basil seeds soaked in water and the mixed with mik for quenching thirst

Greater Kasmir.

Nice.

I would love to try babribeoul treish. Also, I want to try pink Kashmiri chai.

I had a Turkish drink called "ayran" a few months ago (for the first time). I was hooked. I started to drink it often.

I usually mix Basil seeds in my lemonade or Jaam-e-sheereen drink (I don't know if you know what it is). Never drank that Babribeoul.

Never heard of this. Will try it if I get the chance.

I am 201 pounds and 5'7.7''. It is like Rohit Sharma-type fat. Not Rahkheem Cornwall-type fat. :inti

Anyway, my iftar tends to be heavy. My regular meals outside of Ramadan aren't big like this generally. :inti
I wanna ask you a few things if you don't mind.

How old are you? Are you married? And do you have kids?

If you are old, married and have kids then idc.

If you are young and unmarried then yes I am going to bash you more then any indian on this forumn.

I take fitness very seriously. Ever since I came to Australia it's outdoor sporty culture has grown on me. You need to look after your health brother.

Rohit sharma isn't exactly a role model in terms of fitness lol 🤣.

LOL! I know Rohit Sharma is not a role model for fitness. I was just describing my level of fat. You know there are different levels. ROFL.

I have started to take fitness seriously. I lost 12 pounds recently with intermittent fasting and cardio (was 213 pounds a few months ago). 201 pounds now.

Hoping to lose 20 more pounds this year. Let's see how it goes.

I am 34. Not married and no kids. :inti

I like Kichuri with Chana for iftar it’s easy on the stomach to digest. But also love homemade style pilau rice with chickpeas. Every ramadhan I try making a goal no to eat the fried stuffs too much but tbh without the traditional household favourites like pakora, daal bora, piyaju, fried aubergine, samosas, jalebi, it doesnt feel same.

If I were living alone, I probably would've cut off fried foods completely.

But, living with family means it is hard to avoid.

Panta bhaat with mashed potato and ilish mach bhaja. It's my cheat day today.

Now I feel like drunk and struggling to get out of the bed lol.

Do you have the fruit bowl normal or with the Pakistani masala packets poured over it?

I can't stand the masalas on fruit.

No no never. I don't think they're good for you. High salt and other stuff which isn't good for blood pressure from what I've heard.

Today's iftar:

Paratha
Mixed daal and beef curry
Garlic bread
Aloor chop (fried potato snacks)
Fruits (guava and dates)
Black coffee.

What drink do you get from Tim Horton

They have many different drinks. I generally order black coffee or peppermint tea. :inti

I used to get their masala tea (they call it chai tea) but I later on found out it contained nutmeg and some scholars consider nutmeg to be haram. So, I no longer order that.

During summer, I often get lemonade or iced capp (type of sweetened iced coffee).

First thing I do when I land in Canada to visit family. Stop by Tim Hortons with my cousins, get an iced Capp. Proceed to the house. Been the case since 09. Same thing when I’m heading out of there.

Gotta say tho Dunkin’s pastries are better imo. But TH beverages blow all the other mainstream breakfast/coffee joints out of the water

Nice.

Iced capp is popular here during summer months. I ask them to put cream on top of my iced capp (to make it creamier).
