Typical Naan in Pakistan:

Although they are generally a tad bigger than what are shown in the picture.

In my house we used to have Chapati during lunch and Naan during dinner..

Anyone who eats 3 of those are bound to become fat considering it will be eaten with oil laden curry.

In our homes we all eat 2 Rotis (Whole Wheat or Whole Grain) along with olive oil cooked Curry and some Green Yogurt.
Most in India cannot afford or find Greek Yogurt or Olive Oil, so they eat oil laden curry. Whole Grain and Whole Wheat flour has become staple in most homes these days.

Depends on if it is made from white flour or whole weat. The latter is perfectly fine - desirable over other foods even.

Yeah I've always thought roti was sort of a naan made from wheat. And chapatis and rotis are always healthy as it contains a good chunk of dietary fiber, atleast healthier than the diabetogenic diet that you get in south india.

White Rice is a killer. No nutrition and too many carbs.

Recently, we invited a my wifes friend who was newly married to our home and I was stunned by the amount of Rice that man ate. He ate 3 bowls of rice. That bowl is not small either. The rest of 4 people ate 2 bowls combined.
I asked that man if he would prefer Quinoa or Wheat Rava in place of Rice. He plainly said no. He said he cannot eat without Rice.

White?

Yupp.

White Rice. We cooked White Rice as we knew he prefers that. But we were shocked at the way he devoured 3 bowls of it. I felt like in the end he realized that we were looking at him strangely and he stopped all of a sudden. Who knows he would have swallowed another bowl.

I asked whether he was white lol:inzi

Glad to hear that. It's kind of confusing seeing two numbers there without any units. ;-)
Certainly second number is going to be height in perspective of weight because weight alone can tell you nothing at all :)

Guys give him a break please.

His BMI is 21.1 which is perfectly fine and he is not under weight.

54 kg 63 inches gives you 21.1 and normal BMI is 18.5 to 24.9.

Similarly Convict at 23.6 BMI is perfect.

48 Kg. Yes, I know I need to gain weight, but I have been at that mark for over a decade now. Always the butt of everyone's joke due to my scrawny physique.

Gender and height have to be considered aswell.

Well you should start workout. Hopefully you are Muslim Alhamdoulillah and you will be fasting in Ramazan but if you have around 8 hours between Roza than try to take 3 meals.

After Ramazan start taking 4 meals per day.

As far as diet plan is concerned @Tera Gawandi, Nostalgic can guide you the best.

I would say with regular workout you have to increase your Carbs and Proteins daily intake along with a certain portion of fats aswell.

Starting gym is always difficult so you have to remain committed for first 2 weeks and than you will slowly get used to it.

Best wishes and prayers in your Aim, InshaAllah you will make it.

Train hard, Eat well, Sleep well.

But, seriously, you need to gain a bit of weight. 44 is not healthy for your height. I hope you are not dieting on purpose.

I know right. It's probably because I don't get enough nutrients my body needs and it's because I don't feel much hungry (no, I don't diet) until and unless i am eating fruits that increase appetite like bananas and melon. Infact even if I gain a kg or two (after eating a lot) I lose it before a week if i stop eating that much.

Idk. I'm almost 5'4. :)) It's very hard for me to gain weight. :/

What's your height? And weight too? :D

I weight 49 kg, man. :)) Same height, maybe a little taller.

You really need to gain some weight though, 44 is pretty low. :/

There are taller girls who weigh even less. :)) I know one who stands around 5'5"-5'6" and probably weighs 37 kg. :/

What is your secret? :)) I gain weight so fast it's unbelievable. :P

I am stuck with 80-81 for so long now . Need to get it to 77 to have a perfect height-weight ratio but then again I start to feel way to skinny once my weight is below 80 kg

Dont sleep more than 4 hours, eat whatever you can, do running, running and more running :)) Easiest solution of decreasing weight.

Other way is "Beth kar farsh par poocha lagana" :)

The easiest way is to have a big breakfast because you can eat the same thing every morning. Try to eat whole grain bread with cheese, use peanut butter, have omega 3 enriched eggs and a big glass of milk every morning. You'll get used to it eventually and feel better throughout the day.

Sounds legit, will definitely try this out. :P

I can't imagine what they look like :/
When was the last time you were here? Most of the girls you'll see these days are dangerously underweight.

About 2 years ago. Most girls I saw were in Jaan Saa if you know what I mean.

Only the first one is something you shouldn't do. Most people here are between the ages of 20-35, 4 hours of sleep is really walking on thin ice. May not see some immediate side effects, but long term it is pretty detrimental, speaking from experience. 6 hours should be the bare minimum.

I swapped my breakfast for a pint of juice (fruit/veg cocktail from the juicer) every morning and ten kilos fell off me. No exercise.

Nope, in any circumstance, you should always sleep the amount hours you naturally sleep - any changes to your sleep and your daily routine will be affected.

Also 96NotOut, all that you need to lose fat is to slightly reduce calorie intake and to gradually increase cardio exercise intensity with each workout. At your weight, I would be looking at slightly increasing my calorie intake per day rather than any further reductions.

I'm 6'1 and weigh 97 kg.

Been bulking for several months now and majority of my weight increase has been muscle but I still have around 5-6 kg to lose evantually to get a perfect type of physique.

49 kg.

5'5.

17 years of age.

Yeah, pretty underweight and short, I know, though the doctor said my height is normal. :murali

You have time to grow if you haven't had a growth spurt yet, you may be a late bloomer like Misbah or Ajju :ajmal

Agree with Suleiman, you maybe a late bloomer but don't take things for granted. I was nearly 5'7" as a 16 year old and this is how tall I will be for the rest of my life.

Push yourself now because it is not very nice when 13-14 year old cousins tower over you. :sachin

You need to eat more meat and dairy products man. Way too light.

Hmm yeah.

Think it may have something to do with metabolism? Bio is not my strongest suit though, might well be wrong. :danish

What's your daily diet outside of Ramadan?

Oh, I eat quite a bit lol.

Breakfast is light, only milk.

Then at school have a sandwich, granola bar.

Then at home usually some salan with roti or noodles.

Rice usually with some curry or something of that sort for dinner, which I tend to eat heavily.

Junk food in between occasionally.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day man, you're literally breaking fast from the time you last stopped eating last night. Need to get a good meal in for that.

Yeah get that a lot. But lack of time and appetite, unfortunately. Don't know how to fix the latter.

Yeah, I used to skip it too in high school for the exact same reason, but in College/Uni there's more freedom so I think that'll help when you graduate.

Anyhow, you gotta force yourself to eat keeping your health in mind.

True true.

How much do you weigh, if you don't mind me asking?

I wanted people to guess :( Okay, just for you. I weight 185 lbs ish, 5 ft 11 and a half, probably 6 ft on mornings. :misbah Gained a couple of lbs every since I started Uni; Stress eating :(, though this Ramzan will help with that.

You need to start eating heavier breakfasts and avoid eating heavy dinners. Milk, yogurt, organic eggs(2-3), bread(French toasts, bread with cheese, peanut butter etc.), cereal, fruit smoothies. I can't decide for you but your breakfast should be nutritionally dense with high servings of protein, calcium, other minerals, vitamins and enough carbs. Once your stomach starts to adjust, you can add meat to the diet(preferably white meat in the start).

You're in your teens so your body still has time to grow thicker(bone density, muscle mass) if not taller.

You know that this was a 1917 quote in Good Health? It has since passed into "common sense".
