What would other nations have done in the Smith/Warner/Bancroft saga?

There has been a lot of hypocrisy over Smith, Warner etc.

Wonder if other nations would have banned their star players?

Smith, Warner etc have lost a lot even sponsors are turning their back on them.

I am not talking about match fixing, I am talking about ball tampering.

England would have sacked the skipper and dropped the players for a few tests, for for a year.

England would have given all the players an MBE and the Captain an OBE as long as they won the series.

I guess the ECB was sleeping then when Anderson dug his nails into the ball and when Broad repeatedly stuck his spikes into the ball.

PCB - 3 Year Ban

After 3 months ban reduces to 1 yr

After 6 months players forgiven :nawaz:warner:warne

If this were Pakistan...: "Screw it, bring'em all back :ahmed:azhar2:rahat1:bhatti:shafiq2:kakmal:uakmal:cheema:sami:hafeez:gul:sohail"

Bcci would never let this come out and be such big issue. They can manage everyone from media and telecast providers.

If this were Kohli, BCCI would've cried racism and then counter attacked by saying "we learnt it from Faf".
Honesty got Smith into trouble, ironically.

CA and Sutherland should've said "The south African media has been on a witch-hunt from the first day of this tour, and this accusation is total fabrication and an attempt to malign our leadership's image.

BCCI would have put their foot down and made everyone believe that it was a 'mistake' through some intelligent PR.

I believe that BCCI like most other boards would just have enforced ICC punishment. Perhaps a greater fine

PCB wouldn't have done anything. ICC would have banned the culprit for a few games and for the PCB that would have been enough.

South Africa have a known ball tamper as captain, so for them it doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

BCCI: would have threatened to withdraw from all future tours unless their ‘innocent’ players were cleared.

PCB: would have formed half a dozen committees to discuss the matter, banned the players for life before reducing the ban to one week on appeal.

BCCI would have claimed racism.

Indians would have gone on riots and burned effigy's.

And it would have been covered up.

And you know who the committee would be headed by:

Current PCB regime would have banned the player(s) for a couple of games, following ICC protocol.Same with the other boards. If the player was in a leadership position he would have been removed.
