This could be the most hostile bowling Australian cricket has ever witnessed at home from an opposition team.

I totally agree.

Much more hostile than the attack that blanked Australia in 79/80:

Roberts
Holding
Garner
Croft

Mpst hostile in recent times but it wont trouble smith, marnus and warner much who are beasts at home.

This attack is good but obviously can't be compared to West Indies attack of yesteryears. Hell saffers of 2015-2018 had an equally good attack to India's current one for these conditions in Australia.

Wagner even though bowled at trundling pace troubles Aussies with his leg side peppering of short balls. I have no idea how it worked though. He is so predictable.

Should be a good contest though between Indian Pacers and Smith plus labu and Warner. Let's see.

Yes will be definitely interesting but imagine if the bowling takes out Smith. Don't forget Starc and Cummins can also hurt Indian batsmen althought Indians seem tougher than the Aussies when it comes to taking shots.

This thread has a lot of potential to be bumped in upcoming weeks.

Either Indian pace demons will annihilate Aussie FTB or will be smacked around :yk

Nice one OP!

Bhaijaan is a big-hearted brave guy who goes with his instincts and emotions and doesn't bother about the other side of the coin.

Pretty much this. I am more than happy to shut up if India lose after playing their full strength side. But India aren't because they don't have 3 of them playing.

Still think it will be quite even.
As long as bewda and lolli doesn't mess up selections we should be alright.

Jokes aside, it's going to be an epic series.

Very few can challenge Aussies at home. A pity VK will have to leave.

I wish health to both XIs. Could be the best series of 2020.

Australian batters are ruthless at home regardless of who the bowling attack. Indian bowlers will need to be on top of their game.

Can see Australia pummeling Siraj and Saini if either of them play.

Bhaijaan will be wrong as always. His cricketing acumen is rapidly declining with age.

This is not some great bowling line up for these conditions. Especially without Ishant.

And by chance have you seen Ozzie batsmen destroying pacers from all over the world?

Indian bowlers stand no chance against the Ozzie batsmen on these pattas. Mark my words.

Who is this Pace demon we are talking about?

is it Navdeep Saini, the fiend of karnal???

Have very low expectations from him. Even if he does a Shaheen (around 5 wickets at close to 40 in 2 tests), I will be impressed.

Pace is good, but it is not everything. Line, length and accuracy is more important. Height is a huge advantage which Indian pacers don't have (except Saini, maybe). I think Shami and Bumrah are quite smart and will trouble Aussie batsmen but I don't think they will blow them apart with their pace and bounce. I still give Aussies 4-0. They are favourites in their home conditions, but India will hopefully give them a good fight. India should carefully pick their 3rd and 4th bowlers.

Btw, India as usual will underestimate Lyon and end up giving him a lot of wickets.

Pace demons?.Shami can't bowl spells. The guy with ugly and illegal action will either
take wickets or will be smashed around the ground.Lets see what happens

Apart from South African pacers, Australian batters haven't really been troubled much by any other team's in their backyard in last 13 years except for the Ashes 2010. India did well and you can do just as good as what you are being given, and they won the contest last time, but this time around, it will be a better contest with their new look batting order esp with Smith back. in 2014-15, he singlehandedly exhausted Indian attack.

India have a very good bowling attack , shami will be the key. I have a feeling that he will be the man of the series.

Nice fishing FC.

I don't think our bowlers will pick 20 wickets in the 2nd, 3rd test and Gabba is their unbreachable fortress. All comes down to Adelaide, I think we will finally realize the utility Ishant adds to our fast bowling pack.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but besides Bumrah and Shami, Australia will feast on any inexperienced fast bowlers that come into their conditions.

They are a serious force to be reckoned with in their own backyards, the slightest error and they will make you pay for your mistakes.

Saini had a very poor IPL, and personally, I don't think that he should play test matches at all. Siraj has much better stats in first class cricket, and if needed, he should be given a chance. I don't know about these Indian fast-bowlers, surely someone else can correct me.

However, if these bowlers bowl correct lines and lengths, they can really trouble the Australian batsmen. On and around off stump is perfect for these conditions, as the ball will seam initially and could get an easy LBW.

Who India choose as their spinner could be a defining factor as well. Will they trust Kuldeep to deliver like he did last time? Or will the pick between Ashwin and Jadeja, two very capable spinners?

Also, if Prithvi plays, India is at a disadvantage already considering his incredibly poor form. Despite the fact that he hasn't played in a while, KL Rahul should open. He's much better than Prithvi, and he is in great form.

..and it begins

Bumrah on fire and he is operating at 70%

So this thread had some truth in it after all. No warner but still excellent bowling. Remains to be seen how much the tail pesters india this time around.

To think at least 3-4 easy catches were dropped off our pacers so far

Should have been 130 AO in my opinion if not for below par fielding.

Australia lucky to have almost scored 200 runs. They deserved to be 100 AO today against demons.

Australia don’t seem to have an answer against the best bowling attack in the world.

Smith needs to find a way to get big runs because the others don’t look like they are capable of negating this incredible attack.

India last lost a Test at MCG when all Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid & VVS Laxman were playing

How would this Australian attack fare against India if we took out Starc and Hazlewood and replaced with Neser and some other random? Next test we'd likely see Bumrah team up with n00bs in Siraj and Saini. And while it won't be as potent as Ishant/Shami/Bumrah, I feel like they can do the job.

Will be interesting to see what strategy Indian pace demons will adopt in next test given they will now have to replace Umesh Yadav.

The demons were not as quick as last time. Bumrah hasnt clocked anywhere near 153.3 :akhtar However, they did have demonic control over length and line which even 'Strayan quicks did not have and trickster :ashwin bamboozled them with his changes of pace

Only reason being our support bowl d got injured.

Nah. Bumrah was down on pace in the 1st test and even in NZ. Compared to the last Aussie tour anyway where he was at peak speed. He has never bowled at that pace afterward. Not even in shorter formats

That's because Bumrah had to shorten his run up to the crease after the injury, he barely even has a run up now..

He improved his stamina and he never bowls an even heavier ball. That's why the pace looks lower. His release point is so much closer to the pitch than any other bowler.

So his 138 might come in a lot quicker than other bowlers 145 because he releases the ball a lot closer to the pitch when he follows through.

Bumrah can easily crank it up when he wants to. I have seen him bowl 143 plus in some spells even in this series.

Btw Umesh has upped his pace now. He bowls 140 plus consistently. He became a beast again. Sad he got injured.

Want to see Kartik Tyagi unleashed and hit some helmets.

Bumrah
Shami
Ishant
Umesh
Siraj

Fab five. Then we have Ash and Jadeja.

Bhai
You mentioning about him many times. What's your opinion on Tyagi?

Bowls gun barrel straight and has a mean bouncer and Aussies found out in tour games. Can be strategically used as a 3rd pacer. Deciders are a good time to use mystery bowlers.

No. WI in their heyday were more hostile.

They are close but not up there with what demons have done across last 6 tests.

You might want to check, Australian batting record agains to demons has been worse in 100 years of their cricket.

Only BUmrah is left. Others are injured. Aus should win the last 2 tests.

Looks like Demon Saini will get to play 3rd test ahead of Demon Natrajan.

Best of luck to Australia!

I hope they can cross 200 runs for a competitive match.

Bhaijaan freelance_cricketer Do we have any demons left in the cupboard? :danish

Don't understand why Ishant wasn't flown in and complete his quarantine as Gavaskar advised.

Have never seen an Australian team bat with so much carefulness, fear of getting out to the bowlers, fielders in a long time, just look at the run rates and strike rates. The Indian pacers with their middle leg stump tactics and field placings have done something totally unexpected

The statistics show Australia has batted the worst against India at home than against any team in 100 years.

India's bullied Australian batting more than West Indies did in last 7 tests.

Demon Thakur was good. Good Lord bless my soul. Looks like every other net bowler we played had a hidden demon inside him.

Didn't get a 5-fer but did take the most wickets (7) in the entire match, more than Siraj, Cummins, Hazelwood etc.

This is why there is only one BHAIJAAN.

Demon Natarajan, Demon Thakur and Demon Siraj breached the fortress GABBA like none.

Demon Saini was struggling due to back spasm but his time will come too.

Once fully fit, we will unleash 145 Kph+ Demon Saini too.
