Where does Daniel Vettori rank among the spinners in all 3 formats?

In my opinion, he has been one of the most underrated players of last 2 decades. Was a masterful spinner and a useful lower order batter.

His stats don't do justice as his average of 30 plus in both ODI and Tests stands. But what many don't realize is that how effective he was at choking the run flow of the opposition with his stifling left arm spin. In tests, he was more than just good. You could bet on him to always strangle the opposition with his accurate left spinners.

In T20is, I think he has the best economy rate of all the bowlers (5.70) and one of the few bowlers to concede less than 6rpo in t20is
I think he is an ATG of t20is.

Plus his role in ODI's was very silent yet his absence was felt after he was gone. I still remember Vettori bowling half fit in 2013 champions trophy and the way he got Jayawardene (one of the best players of spin) was a thing of beauty. His absence has been felt a bit more in Tests since 2012.

New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori has been confirmed as one of the Australian men's team's new full-time assistant coaches.

The former left-arm orthodox allrounder joins Victorian Andre Borovec, as revealed by cricket.com.au on Saturday, as the two new assistant coaches following the elevation of Andrew McDonald to head coach and the departure of Jeff Vaughan to coach Tasmania.

Vettori has been appointed to the permanent position following a stint with the team during the white-ball leg of the Pakistan tour.

The 43-year-old, who played 113 Tests and 295 ODIs for New Zealand across an illustrious 18-year international career, joins Australia's coaching ranks ahead of a subcontinent-dominated schedule across the next 18 months, which includes tours to Sri Lanka next month and India early next year, along with a 50-over World Cup in India starting in October 2023.

"I was really impressed with what I saw of the group in Pakistan in the way they approached preparation, planning and playing. It’s a very strong and unified group which has the potential to have a very rewarding and hopefully successful period ahead," Vettori said.

Daniel Vettori was just recently inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame, but the question is how did you view him as a bowler? He wasnt really a wicket taking bowler, but left arm off spin and go through his overs with very good economy. His economy rate used to stay at 4 or below.

As a lower order batter he knew how to use his bat. As a captain he was respected for his leadership skills and was the guy who took over from Stephen Flemming. Sucked in test cricket but led in the limited overs really well

Had he been a Pakistani bowler, he would had most likely not played more than 50 international games.

It did surprise me that he was inducted in ICC Hall of Fame, did he deserve that? And how do you view him?

Misbah is not an ICC Hall of Famer, he was inducted in PCB Hall of Fame which is understandable
