After a less-than-impressive, win-less start to the season from Liverpool (2 draws, 1 loss), it begs the question: is this a temporary blip or will Liverpool struggle this season to reach standards set in previous ones?

Will they put in a serious title charge again or might they be drawn into the race for top 4 instead?

Vote and discuss.

Despite poor start they will still finish top 4, probably 2nd or 3rd, they are easily capable of winning 10-15 games on spin despite poor start.

There are many more matches to go. Anything can happen.

As a Liverpool fan, I hope they will win it again.

Liverpool are desperately short of creative MF that can also score goals ie Coutinho type player. And they will miss Mane and his energy and reputation.

Most likely 3rd. No way will City drop points to this extent. We are out of the title race.

I’m going 3rd.

City-Arsenal-Liverpool-Tottenham.

Hopefully mid table for Chelsea and Man U. :)

Liverpool are seven points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and five adrift of Manchester City. Is that concerning for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp?

"You can worry if you want, but it doesn't make too much sense," says the German. "If you start worrying because other teams have nine points then that is not helpful.

"This team delivered in the last four-five years at a consistently high level. A little drop a couple of years ago but, apart from that, so often on the winning side. Sometimes - I don't speak about the closer group - people take things for granted. We have to and had to work incredibly hard for it, and that's what we will do.

"It's too early to close the season, definitely, and say that's it for us. Nobody knows what we can achieve at the end of the season, Between now and then there are a lot of points to get and we should start collecting them."

I think they'll finish in 2nd, quite a few points behind Man City.

When others have strengthened so much I don't fancy our chances of finishing in the top four. Our midfield in injury prone and old. I think it is fifth for us this season.

Think Mane should have been kept with LFC.

Force him then with money like was done with Salah I believe.

I think Mane just wanted to try something different. We have Jota injured and Nunez is banned so are well taken care off up front. Mane missed many sitters too.

I thought 2nd place initially behind Man City but the way they are playing they'll struggle to finish second.

The spark isn't quite there, key players like Trent and VVD have been off the pace, injuries haven't helped and Salah hasn't been at his best.

Maybe a 3rd or 4th place finish.

At #7 currently.

Still early days but doesn't seem like they can win it this time.

I think they may finish at #4 or #5.

No way near good enough. We are looking terrible and awful partly due to our poor activity in the transfer market. When our rivals are spending freely we are again penny pinching having to sell to buy philosophy. The midfield that is the engine room is completely lacking in class and quality. No top four for us this season.

Sat in 10th after 8 games played, 14 points off the top. If this form continues the conversation will switch to whether they can even make top 4.

Conversation is already there.

City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and even I’m
sorry to say United look more solid than them.

i think they will wont get dragged into a relegation battle, they will finish around 8th or 9th ;)

Top 4 tough without consistency - Klopp

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool need to find consistency to avoid missing out on a top-four finish in the Premier League after his side suffered a damaging defeat by struggling Leeds at Anfield.

Crysencio Summerville scored a dramatic late winner as Leeds won to move out of the relegation zone.

The defeat leaves Liverpool eight points adrift of Newcastle in fourth, albeit with a game in hand.

The Reds beat Premier League leaders Manchester City on 16 October but have since lost to bottom-of-the table Nottingham Forest and now Leeds.

"You can't qualify for the Champions League if you play as inconsistently as we do at the moment," Klopp said.

"We have to fix that."

Liverpool were hoping to build on their dominant 3-0 win at Ajax in the Champions League in midweek but they made the worst possible start against a Leeds side who started the day in the bottom three when a poor back pass by Joe Gomez was pounced on by Rodrigo, who poked into an empty net.

Liverpool responded well and equalised soon after when Mohamed Salah volleyed in from Andy Robertson's cross.

But Leeds, belying their lowly position in the table, showed great hunger in response to that equaliser and hit the woodwork through Brenden Aaronson.

Illan Meslier made great saves to deny Darwin Nunez one-on-one in the second half, before the Leeds goalkeeper also kept out a Roberto Firmino header.

And, in the final minute of normal time, Summerville picked up the ball from Patrick Bamford before firing across Alisson to send the away support wild.

The defeat - Liverpool's second in a row in the Premier League - means they are ninth while Leeds move up to 15th, four points behind the Reds.

"So many things are unlike us in this moment," Klopp added.

"I am sorry it is like this, but that is the situation. I am not sure how deep you can dig, but we will. It is like it is and we will work on solutions.

"We have to have a look at this game first, try to understand it a bit more and go from there."

No need to worry about the top 4 if we win the UCL this season:sarf2 I think we'll finish 7th or something leading to a big clear out at the end of the season particularly in midfield. We can forget signing Jude Bellingham as well if we fail to qualify for next season's ECL. Milner, Ox, Hendo, Keita and perhaps even Thiago must all depart providing FSG are willing to seriously finance replacements by opening the cheque book for Mr Klopp. If not it'll be back to the infamous 1990's spice boy era for us:ht. We need serious net spending to challenge for the title again.

Top 4 is looking very difficult at the moment for Liverpool. They don’t seem to have a deep enough squad to get the required results consistently.

Arsenal and City are looking dead certs for two of the four CL spots, and there are a number of clubs fighting for those two remaining spots at a higher level (currently) than Liverpool including Man U, Spurs, Chelsea, and even Newcastle now it seems.
