Some observations...

In terms of actual numbers based on the most recent statistics...Germany took the most refugees and by a large margin...

When its done as % share of the population then Sweden is way out in front with Austria second...

Sweden as well if I remember rightly was the first country in Europe to offer Syrians permanent residency...others like Denmark for instance have a 'conditions improve' policy...

The number of asylum seekers doubled in the last year with nearly a quarter of applicants being from Syria...

In terms of the US...and this naturally will change...Iraq, Somalia and Myanmar comprised 57% of last years asylum seekers...and 46% overall were Muslims...Iran, Syria and Sudan were in the top 10...

The current limit is 85,000 I believe so time will tell whether Trump say increases the number of people from other countries or will try and limit refugees in general...

Over the past 15 years 46% of the refugees have been Christian and 32% Muslim...

We have so much space and resources, we can surely take 5 times that number.

Obama increased it from 70,000 to 85,000...we'll see if Trump sticks to that...
Obama also said 10,000 Syrians a year with a 10,000 increase each year...which obviously under Trump won't happen...
It's possible Trump will selectively choose Christian Syrians if given a choice...but tbf Christians arent the ones fleeing Syria...
Obama was laid into for the fact that the majority of Syrians coming to the US were Muslims but the majority of Syrians claiming asylum are Muslim...

And agreed...as a % of population the numbers the US are taking in are pitiful especially considering the amount of refugees they are responsible for creating...
