Which five players should replace Azhar, Shehzad, Hafeez, Imad, Wahab in the ODI squad?

These 5 players (Azhar,Shehzad,Hafeez,Imad,Wahab) should be out of ODI squad. 3 of them are tested and tried failures (Shehzad,Hafeez,Wahab), 1 of them is not suitable for modern ODI cricket (Azhar) and 1 of them is talentless (Imad).

Name 5 players who should replace them. The choice should be 2 pure batsmen, 2 all rounders and 1 fast bowler.

Yamin, Farhan, Sohail Khan, Talat. We don't really have a decent spin all rounder other than Shadab. I think Yamin, Fahim and Shadab are enough ARs alongside Malik.

basically Pakistan need 2 openers to replace Azhar and Shehzad. I would select Sharjeel and Farhan as openers.

To replace Hafeez I would select Saad Ali.

To replace Imad I would select Yamin.

To replace Wahab I would select someone who is fast but intelligent.

This can be the squad:

3 Openers: Sharjeel, Fakhar, Farhan

5 top & middle order: Babar, Sarfraz, Malik, Haris, Saad

2 all rounder: Yamin, Fahim

1 spinner: Shadab

4 fast bowlers: Amir, Junaid, Hasan, Wahab's replacement

I would select Sharjeel and Farhan as openers.

If Sharjeel is available, he will be selected - that is no rocket science. But considering him in your plans at this stage is naive.

So Farhan is the only other option who only has 7 first class and 9 List A games. Pretty risky but such are the times.

Imad Wasim's notoriety on Pakpassion is out of this world. Time and again this man has broken strong partnerships and dominated batsmen. He gets wickets in quick succession and wins you the match. He is economical and I seriously rate him as a batsman. While I do agree that he's had a poor showing as a batsman, he is only an innings away from a match-winning knock.

Even Babar Azam has been having a poor tournament with the bat but we all realise how important he is. Cut Imad some slack.

No thank you he is tainted..

Kamran he is too old now... we need to look ahead. We have to select players that could preform.. improve in 2 years for wc. No values on kamran, hafeez and even umar akmal..

I would keep imad.. we have to persist with these young players.. he is just haven't a few bad games.. he actually needs to be protected.. great future prospect.


Fawad Alam should come in for hafeez...sohail khan for Wahab!!

Haris needs to replace Hafeez. We need two aggressive openers like Fakhar who actually know how to rotate the strike. They can replace Azhar and Shehzad. Imad deserves to be in the side, he was instrumental in winning the match against South Africa and has real potential of becoming a world-class all-rounder. Other than that this is a good side. However we must replace the few weak links (Hafeez, Shehzad, Azhar). I'd also keep Rumman Raees in the squad and see how he does in this format.
