Current batsman/bowler vs former batsman/bowler

Kohli, Smith, AB, Root, Kane vs McGrath, Wasim, Warne, Murali, Waqar...

Lara, Sachin, Ponting, Kallis, Dravid vs Cummins, Rabada, Ashwin, Wagner, Hazlewood...

Not necessarily from this list. Choose any match-up and explain why.

Kohli vs McGrath. The GOAT corridor bowler vs a dynamic batsmen that has been known to enjoy the odd fishing expedition

Ashwin vs Lara since Lara is one of the best against the spin vs Ashwin who is one of the best against left handers.

I'd like to watch Lillee, Marshall, Imran, Haldee, Holding, Roberts vs Smith, Sachin, Ponting, Lara, Kallis at their peaks.

Ashwin vs Lara since Lara is one of the best against the spin vs Ashwin who is one of the best against left handers.

Again, Ashwin would be flayed into submission like the no hoper he is by the beast who tamed Murali in his den. Weird why this subcontinental dust track bully is being mentioned alongside some great names

Which greats are you talking about Wagner,Hazlewood?

I would love to see Don Bradman facing spinners like Murali, Bedi, Saqlain, Qadir, Kumble, Shakib etc in subcontinent. Considering he never batted outside Eng/Aust...there is always this question mark and caveat associated with his batting. Let him face the best spinners in subcontinet and then we can access how good he really was. Whether he was really a 99 avg test batsman etc (which I dont think he was). For far too long we have been fooled by British/Australian press.

O'Reilly, Verity and Grimmett are greater than any spinner bar Warne, Murali. Laker, Tayfield = to those guys as well

Shakib vs Bradman, really? :)))

ashwin goes home crying. Murali >> Ashwin vs everyone and Lara destroyed Murali

Crying? He will go home humiliated and he will announce his retirement the same day. Fakhar Zaman manhandled Ashwin and threw him into dustbin. Imagine what Lara would do to him. Unexplainable things really.

Kohli/Smith/ABD against the WI quartet (Roberts, Garner, Marshall, Holding) at their peak.

O'Riley and Grimmett were both Aussies...so Bradman never had to face them. Verity was not that great anyway. Only Jim Laker was good but if I am not wrong, Bradman didnt score much against him (played only handful of matches against Laker though).

Then again none of these were played in real spin friendly sub continental conditions anyway. So it beats the point I am raising.

The bowlers you have mentioned haven't performed well in dustbowls.
So it goes either way.

Of course the dust bowls were carefully curated and created for him to pick wickets. Unfortunately Hazlewood and Wagner don't get that opportunity. Hence we see the true colors revealed as soon as he steps out of his homeland onto truer pitches. Batsmen wait to trash him and this guy gets dropped promptly after the 1st test of the series citing injury or some other excuse. Have seen this pattern countless times now :)))

Well we know he is not that dangerous outside his comfort zone.

Ashwin "manhandled" much superior bats like Cook, Sangakkara, Warner etc than the one inning fluke that is Fakhar zaman.

By your definition, Ajay jadeja threw Waqar Younis in the dustbin and that makes WY a lesser bowler. Am I right ? :)

Bradman didn't play vs Laker shows how much you know. I was just listing him and Tayfield, the only other ATG spinner. Verity was a bonafide ATG, and for me the 4th greatest spinner ever. Averaged 24 in a very batting friendly era. Pitches back then in a country varied alot more. There were true turners in the UK, and the SCG took significant spin. Bradman also dominated O'Reilly, Grimmett in FC cricket.

Saying Verity not that great the worst post I have ever seen.

King Kohli vs the west indian quartet.

Uptil now Kohli has literally destroyed every bowler who challenged him in the test arena.

James anderson averages 50+ against kohli.

Pat cummins challenged him by saying he wont score a single century and he replied with a century at the bouncies PERTH pitch.

Mitchell Johnson was literally thrashed and beaten into a pulp in 2014-15 in aus.

Highest scorer against rabada, philander, morkel, steyn bowling attack in 2018.

Holding, marshall, croft, garner, roberts vs kohli .One HELL OF A BATTLE.
