Which league has the better fast-bowlers - IPL or PSL?

I think PSL needs 6 overseas fast bowlers and it will become a stellar tournament:

1. Nortje
2. Archer
3. Rabada
4. Starc
5. Bumrah
6. Boult

Just these six I would take and I wouldn’t even look at the remainder because I don’t feel the Curran’s, Lungi, Cummins, Pattinson etc will significantly improve the fast bowling standards

Actually Lungi was a potent fast bowler when i saw him for the first time in test match vs India. I don't know what happened and he became a trundler. I wish to see Naseem in IPL. That would be great sight to watch.

Deepak Chahar has far better stats than the likes of Rauf.

Cummins who you called not a T20 bowler has better stats than any pakistani bowler in T20 today.

The international bowlers from pakistan like Amir or Shaheen etc are below the likes of Bumrah.

Why dont you list the bowlers in PSL who are better than the international bowlers whom you dismissed in a very cavalier manner.

Since I'm on a cavalier spree, let me maintain it and suggest you some comprehension classes because I clearly stated "slightly INFERIOR/SUPERIOR bowlers" available in PSL.

We don't have a superior version of Boult in tests, but in T20 we have Amir and he's marginally better than Boult

So the equation to simplify becomes like this

Amir (21/7) > Boult (26/8)
Tanvir (24/7) = Bravo (24/8)
Tom Curran has a 25 average with almost 9 rpo economy so we do have better bowlers than him.

I never compared Bumrah with anyone, but since you brought that up, just check Umar Gul's statistics and you will get an unpleasant surprise. I'm only saying so because numbers are the be-all-end-all in your argument.

Cummins domestic stats are matched by some in Pakistan since these are domestic leagues we are talking about.

Never meant to rate those bowlers. Listed the bowlers who are playing the league.

Quick comment on not so good Cummins, Boult, Hazlewood, Pattinson, Morris, Oshane Thomas and Currans. If any of them were to be available in the PSL price band, franchises will queue up to sign them up. Forget their bowling stats, they bring bigger and better star value than Ben Dunk, Ben Cutting, Tymal Mills, David Wiesse, Dwayne Pretorius and dare I say Darren Sammy (no disrespect to any of them)

I agree that Cummins, Hazlewood, Pattinson will raise the star value of PSL in Pakistan since they are active players of a big cricketing nation however, I don't see these additions increasing the hype of the league internationally. The English contingent this year included Hales, Roy, Jordan, Moeen, Malan, Banton, Billings, & Livingstone (off the top of my head), yet they failed to generate any big headline or interest in the UK. Unlike some, my green-tinted lenses are placed at a side when I post about cricket comparisons and hate them and a lot of them are based on the perception of a certain player hence some of my observations may be wrong or flawed or correct only to me.

That said, journeymen cricketers like Dunk, Sammy etc. aren't really bad but they don't have the star power that makes international headlines. It's not cricketing skills and numbers alone that make a person an international star, there are a plethora of factors involved in this process. Sachin is widely considered as the second-best batsman after Don but the difference between his average and Younus Khan, who is not even considered as a contemporary great outside Pakistan is literally less than 2 runs.

So in terms of perception, yes PSL cannot be compared with IPL, but the difference isn't as much as it is thought to be.

Err for the simple reason they are better than all the foreign bowlers (and all the domestic bowlers barring Shaheen) you listed. Yes all of them.

B. As many as 9 matches crossed 350 aggregate runs....

C. It held for the first time in Pak...if it is continued to be held then we can expect
similar run fest albeit there could be good bowling performances too like this year's National t20.

D. The myth that S Afridi is the last recognisable power hitter Pak ever produced is getting busted and we
Are witnessing many hitters in local
Circuit

E. Even after so much carnage in PSL
2020 We have found new gems in bowling and are continuing to found them through
This year's National t20.

F We won't be surprised is Amir Hasan never found their name in Pak team sheet as many alternatives are now available.

G. During this season many young pacers played for the first time ...while many played for the first time in home.....so naturally it would be harsh to judge them

If want to compare Undakat to any Pakistani bowler compare to Mohammad Sami they played similar amount of T20Is. Mohammed Sami has better average of 18 compare to 21 and slight better economy. Plus his best bowling stats and average is against India.
You can't cherry pick any one that suits you. Reason giving Sami example as they both played similar amount of games and he has always out of contention for selection and if you look at his T20I stats he should have been first choice and played much more T20I but he was no where near the squad all the time expect 13 games.
If Sami played more games I'm sure his stats wouldn't look that good as they are same with Undakat when he plays more T20Is against stronger oppositions.

What perhaps tips the balance slightly in the favour of the IPL is the foreign bowlers like Ferguson, Nortje and Archer.

True. Death bowling has been difficult for the youngsters. you need skills like torkers, bouncers, slow balls, outswing and inswing to be a good at death.

Moreover u need to have not one but 2 overseas bowlers even a 40 year old Bravo to make the bowling attack look decent ......Curran has to bowl in poweplay and Russell at death........that's enough proof of level of standard of local pacers.....wheather it's a 28 year old Saini.....or 19 20 year old Mavi Thampi.....or in betweens.....like Umesh Undakat Khaleels

they are all better than almost all psl pacers in terms of everything. i wouldnt have to take only shaheen, amir and maybe rauf over them and they are the bench players of india.
