Yuvraj and Dhoni bat at 4 and 5, for India. Both are liabilities on current form and can be easily replaced by Pandey and Pant.

Hafeez and Malik bat at 4 and 5, for Pakistan. Both are liabilities and can be easily replaced by Haris and Amin/ Fakhar (if Sharjeel comes back as an opener.)

Which pair is harming their respective team, the most.

Yuvi and Dhoni would still walk into most ODI units. So, definitely the latter. However, Ajinkya Rahane and Ravendra Jadega are a bigger cancer to the Indian ODI team, especially outside India.

On Topic, Hafeez played a great knock against India in the finals.

How can you compare him with Yuvraj and Dhoni who have been free loaders for some years Now?

I personally reckon it's Dhoni and Yuvraj. At least Pakistan has no proper replacements. But India, despite having so many talented youngsters, playing with the oldies .

I would have Malik and Hafeez rather then Dhoni and Yuvi as in Pakistan we don't have the calibre of players to replace them however India have at least 10 batsmen to replace Yuvi and Dhoni

TBH

Umar Amin/Akmal would fail in Intl cricket and Haris Sohail isn't a match winning batsmen

The one good knock he's played in 2 yrs lol. On the other hand Malik did consistently well before the CT but had a poor tournament.

Malik and Hafeez have been churning out the runs

Still feel Hafeez can play Test cricket for 3 years,Malik can play till 2019 unless his form leaves

Watching them bat in that 3rd Odi against Windies was sweet to watch,In champions trophy Hafeez was decent whilst Malik sought of flopped but somehow looked good

Yuvi and Dhoni aren't as good if someone who watched them between 03-10 everyone would be afraid but now your just not scaired of them anymore,They don't play them sought of innings anymore It kind of reminds me of Tharanga a year ago and Misbah in Australia and Younis in England and New Zealand before that 217

But , :yk , if Hafeez had someone like Kohli in playing XI, he would've been same as Yuvi/MSD (of '17)...

That said, Hafeez' innings in CT final was a breathtaking innings. Especially the way he treated the Indian trundler ;) #respectwhereitsdue

Malik is performing and shouldn't be compared with other three IMO. He brings to the table. Kudos to him for speaking in the meeting after 1st game loss in CT. Also he is guiding Hasan Ali!

Yuvraj. Dhoni is still averaging around 50 even now and still a very good wicketkeeper. There are no obvious replacements for him as wicketkeeper, Karthik is worse. Even if Dhoni may be past his best, he's still probably the strongest option for his place.

Hafeez and Malik could be replaced, but there aren't any obvious replacements in the wings, and both are averaging decent numbers. We'd have to try out players to find replacements, and part of the reason they are in the team because younger guys like maqsood, umar akmal, rizwan who should make up the middle order have done worse than them.

Yuvraj is probably the most harmful given he's past his best in the bat, and there are arguably better batsmen kept out like raina and others. So while I think Dhoni is the least burden of the four and even now the best player out of the four, Yuvraj is the biggest burden and combined those two are the biggest burden in terms of pair.

Hafeez and Malik should be flattered to be compared to these two. Past their primes or not, Dhoni is an ODI ATG, Yuvraj won a WC for India. Hafeez played a brisk cameo in a CT final. And as for Malik, well, less said the better. A solid batsman on current form but that is about it. If there was a passenger at the CT it was Shobby.

Yuvraj and Dhoni are going much worse (in contrast to their whole careers). While Dhoni's job is to prepare the upcoming captain, its Yuvraj who should come under the axe for not being consistent enough.

We already got Shahdab who can replace one of Imad, Hafeez or Malik. Finding replacement is not an issue. But they're doing good so far. Lets not forget the fact that Pakistan's not going to play India anytime soon who are good spin players. So we can use wide range of spinners/darters to bowl out cheap overs against other teams. However against teams like India, we may have to bring in Ruman instead of one spinner.

He become one because he was misused. Where Babar took all the time to get going against India, both Hafeez and Malik came and tried to keep up with the rate. Had Malik been at 3, he would have played much better than babr.

Over the hill Yuvraj and Dhoni are leagues ahead of Malik and Hafeez in purple patch. Comparing Indian batsmen to their Pakistani counterparts is never a good idea.

Ohh please. What great knock. The platform was there. What hafeez did is what is least expected. In fact in the last few overs both imad and hafeez could have score a few more.

Hafeez and malik are hurting and will keep blocking youngsters.

was just going to say this.

still Yuvi and dhoni are way better players and most importantly team men.

Why would India have to replace the two when they're playing crucial knocks every now and then or maybe I haven't really followed their cricket.

Our slot is definitely more harming unless you look at the pre CT scoreboards where Malik has won us everal and Hafeez has lost us several in the past 2.5 years.

Poor comparison.

Hafeez is one of the most utility cricketers in the world as of now, top ranked allrounder by ICC ratings, and just played a big role in winning final of a major ICC tournament for his country.

Malik, Yuvraj, Dhoni have been passengers for quite a while now.

I really hate to say it as I want Hafeez out of the team but he is much better than Yuvraj/Dhoni these days as he can at least bowl some overs.

Malik has nothing to do In this thread. He is in the form of his life, won some good matches recently for us. Super fielder.

Hafeez and malik, niether is going to improve as players come the next world cup in 2 years time and both are pretty much passengers in the team right now.

Maliks runs vs South Africa kept us alive in the CT and Hafeez delivered in the semi-final and final. Both outperformed Dhoni and Yuvi in the CT in this regard and played a role in our tournament victory.

Only dhoni will walk off with dignity...rest, dhakay maar ker.

hafeez/malik have always been very ordinary players dhoni and yuvraj may ve been burden now but they have already done enough to be treated like they are today, if dhoni and yuv were anything like hafeez mlik the would b retired ten or more years ago

Hafeez and Malik are no burden to the team. How are they harming the team?

Yuvraj and Dhoni are.

No. Malik/Hafeez will leave after delivering 2019 WC, also; you have bad urdu.

When Shaz is criticising your Urdu, you know it's bad :afridi

All jokes aside, Malik is probably the most graceful of the four and if he loses form, he won't force himself to be part of WC19. Can't say the same for Hafeez, Yuvraj. Maybe Dhoni (due to pressure if anything else).

Yuvraj gone.

Sethi recently said that seniors can't play modern game.

May be Hafeez and Malik would be dropped for the next series.

Lekin what about Dhoni?

Imagine being compared to Malik and hafeez at any stage in your career. If the folks want dhoni and yuvi gone, they should forward this thread to them.

They have better options so for me it dhoni and yuvi damaging more..but yovi is out now dhoni.

Unfortunately ke fortunately Dhoni will play 2019 WC and hopefully after that he calls it a day.. It’s a shame but that’s how it’s gonna be..

Anyday Dhoni. its not just his batting, but all the poisonous politics that he is playing within the team. Needs to be kicked out

Hafeez and Malik are miles ahead of Dhoni and yuvi since 2014-15 season itself. Our duo are dead n burried and we could have avoided 90% of our losses without them in 4 years
