Which was worse: Pakistan’s tour of NZ 2018 or India’s tour of NZ 2014?

For those that do not recall- India toured NZ in 2014 for a 5 match ODI series and a 2 match Test series.

NZ won the ODI series 4-0 ( I believe the 3rd game was a tie) and NZ also won the Test series 2-0. The Test series was particularly famous for McCullum’s 302 in the 2nd Test at Wellington which saved NZ from a certain defeat after being asked to follow on. I do not believe any T20’s were played.

As we all know - we just lost the ODI series 5-0 and won the T20 series 2-1.

Question is who had the worse tour?

I am not looking for numbers or statistics but more qualitative answers considering form, captaincy, tactics and even luck.

Keep in mind the India tour wa s the first time Rohit Sharma, Dhawan and even Kohli has played in NZ.

Discuss!

India lost test series 1-0 not 2-0.
And we were in position to win the first test as well lost by 40 odd runs I guess.

India should have comfortably won the test series if not for the usual suspects of poor catching and team selections.

Of course this one. I am not an Indian fan. So this is pretty bad.

Yes my bad - the Wellington test was drawn!

Don't really care what India do when they visit; this was an epic disaster of a tour and absolutely terrible to watch in terms of how far behind we are from good teams.

They were equally poor because both got white washed in ODIs (tie is meaningless , 4-0 is as bad as 5-0).

We were better in the test matches than when Pakistan toured. But the ODIS were equally disgraceful . We got thumped by them 4-0 and that's not much better than 5-0.

Pakistan was much better

Atleast we won something and yes T20I against the best T20I side of the world counts

India's, we came near winning one test and draw other test. Test series was competitive

India one was more awful they won nothing at least Pakistan won 2 t20s! Moral victories don't count. It's either win or loss!

Why should we even care what India does on their overseas tours?? Can someone explain to me this logic?!

Has to be Pakistan, INDIA competed well in ODIs and were not devoured like Pakistani batting line-up.. 74 all-out and other margins of defeat are sufficient to say, Pakistan never really competed with the kiwis while, India competed really well through out the series.

Pakistan were the worse. NZ absolutely annihilated us in ODIs. India (even if they lost) were competitive.

T20s are a joke.

And you can't compare test cricket to other formats. Different ball game altogether.

Also McCullum played once in a life time kinda innings in that game. Smashed Indian trundler brigade all around the park

T20s don't matter at all. I'd be fine with a T20 whitewash by big margins, if it meant we could've won the ODIs 3-2 instead.

When the World No 1 ODI team gets whupped 4-0, no matter how close the scores were, you cannot try and make it look better than losses for a team that is at best 6-7 ranking one!

India has a batting lineup that they like to boast as 'World's Best'...ODI's are usually won by batsmen, that is something everyone agrees on, so who are they gonna blame for their 4-0 loss, Pakistan?

I don't think India were World no.1 when we got whopped 4-0 in NZ brother. :)

We should forget this obsession about what India did/is doing and focus on improving our own game. The same applies in all other fields and factions of life.

From my perspective, it was a horrendous performance by our team. I don't care how India did in 2014. For me, it was a very poor performance by us especially in the ODIs. I was looking forward to a better performance in the ODIs after the champions trophy victory. Batsmen and Hassan Ali in particular disappointed the most.
