Who has managed to learn Arabic and how long did it take?

I am hoping to learn Arabic, but at the time being it is not progressing as strongly. In the past, I have managed to make progress in European languages more easily (than Arabic) due to alphabet, script etc

Therefore I want to hear how people have successfully learnt it and how long it took and which methods/resources etc

FYI : I am fluent in English

I learnt Arabic in alim class. Amazing language but u need to keep speaking it otherwise it becomes rusty

To understand Quran , it will not take that much time , but to be able to read classical Arabic books , it will take pretty long time.
