Watching Faheem and Maqsood batting yesterday in the National T20 Cup was a reminder that there are big hitters in Pakistan for sure.

Both Faheem and Maqsood really strike the ball very cleanly. Another one who comes to mind is Hasan Ali whose hitting ability is underrated.

Even someone like Hussain Talat is a very good striker of the ball once set.

Still think there is no one who hits them as far as Lala... Misbah will also be right up there.

Fastest bat swing is Nauman. Cleanest timers are Nawaz, Fahim, and Maqsood. Brute strength, Sohail Akhtar. Dude is a tank.

It's funny watching Hasan smash the ball into the stands with ease. Only 5'9 but solid as a rock. Packed with fast twitch muscle from top to bottom.

Faheem Ashraf And Ali Khan

Wahhh some other remember Ali Khan too :o
The cleanest striker and biggest six hitter of Pakistan domestic till 5 years ago. A shame that he didnt work hard. Have you seen his recent pics? He is like Azam Khan now :( Used to be thin back in u 19 2006 wc and even till 2010-2011.

Some of these guys from Sialkot have so much talent but poor work ethic.

Cleanest strikers
Shahzaib Hasan
Mukhtar Ahmed
Awais Zia
Sohaib Maqsood
Fahim Ashraf
Sahibzada Farhan
Nasir Nawaz
Nauman Anwar
Hammad Azam
Sohail Akhtar

Faheem ashraf.
Hussain talat cant hit against pacers but he can always work hard abd improve that side of his batting

Currently in Pakistan XI - Malik, and FZ

Fahim is pretty untested

Fawad Alam

This. The fighter, the stanceman, the one, the only Fawad. His boundaries are the 30 yard circle and he struggles to clear them. BTW what's up with that guy's helmet. He doesn't have one that fits. I think it's because his head is bigger than normal :)))

Nasir Nawaz, Fahim Ashraf. These two can compete some of the best hitters in the world like Lynn, Hales etc.

Surprised no-one has mentioned Asif Ali and Mukhtar Ahmed.

Fakhar is the only guy I have seen from Pakistan who can hit a six over deep point.

In Pakistan players who can hit overpitched full length near-yorker for six in Pakistan, are Sohail Akhtar and Faheem Ashraf.
Awais Zia, Sohaib Maqsood and Nauman Anwer are also talented clean strikes of the bowl as well.

The banned one!

Yeah banned one(s) also were clean strikers of the ball namely Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan
suspended one Shahzaib Hassan was the best striker of the bowl after Afridi.

Bowler Sohail khan is also good hitter when he hits bowl only lands outside the ground.

Impressed. Pak could use a striker like him in their ODI and T20 team.

The shot at 1:35 reminded me of MSD.

I am surprised not many people mentioned Umar Akmal . If you put your bias against him due to his not so good attitude, He is the most comfortable hitter against pace we have. The other great thing that sets him apart from other hitters is placement. So mnay international innings, you could see him carve steaming Mitch Johnson or Adam Milne through the smallest gap at cover.
Against Spin he hits them monstrous as well and a great runner between the wickets.
Just hope he sorts out his fitness and mental aptitude issues, full of talent.

Can’t buy a run in domestics. No thank you to “talent”

It has to be Ahmed Jamal - guy played 2 balls and hit a 4 & 6.

That's stats, watching batting in CricInfo - on eye what I have seen cleanest hitter is Masood. I think, anyone can swing bat and if sometimes it connects the middle ... even Irfan once sent the ball to 2nd tier of Dubai (or Abu Dhabi). Cleanest hitters should be those with high back lift, quick bat swing & proper balance while playing shot - it has to be Maqsood, whom I have seen clearing 85 metres over extra cover with a checked drive. In his 86 yesterday, one SIX he hit from a wristy slap over backward point - Fawad'll need 3 strikes to cover that distance with that shot.

Maqsood has gift of timing... in that 86 off his he had one four through extra cover in which it seemed like a forward defensive punch and the ball raced away like a bullet.

Too bad he has very little foot movement and may never prosper in international conditions.

I mentioned him lol. But I think Umar's pretty unpopular atm.

The best out of the newer batsmen I've seen are Sharjeel, Maqsood and Umar. Fahim looks very good, but hasn't exactly played enough international cricket for me to rate him amongst the best. Underrated bowler though.

I have an update for clean strikers list
Sohail Akhtar
Faheem Ashraf
Hammad Azam
Imran Khalid
Nasir Nawaz

Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood are both vying for top spot in the One Day Cup.

Umar: 310 balls faced, 17 sixes
Sohaib: 197 balls faced, 16 sixes

But Umar is batting at 3 and Maqsood at 4/5 so the latter is more likely to be facing lesser bowlers and/or spinners.

Maqsood really murders spinners and part-timers.

Perhaps maqsood deserves a shot. umar, we've seen enough of to know he will be a failure on comeback as well.

If Maqsood has improved his fitness levels and sorted out his running between wickets, then deserves a look in more than Umar Akmal does as Umar has had more recalls than most in the last few years and wasted it every single time.

Cleanest striker of the ball, it got to be him, he is so clean, hardly even touches the ball, gets beaten or just nicks it, particular on non-UAE wickets, yes Hafeez. :steyn

Have had a soft spot for Maqsood even before he debuted for Pakistan. He has been injury prone even in domestics otherwise he would’ve debuted 1-2 years earlier during one of his peak seasons but got injured.

The fact that he was moved anywhere’s from 3 all the way to 7 despite scoring back to back at #3 where he should’ve gotten a longer run didn’t help either. Ultimately ofc he is responsible for his own failure and downfall.

Still, I’d rather still play him with all his shortcomings because I know he’ll still try to go for it compared to our diva accumulators who are stacked in the middle order.

Nasir Nawaz looks great. Effortlessly clearing the rope against the likes of Jamal and Bhatti.

Nice but seems one sided from this clip. and most of the balls he banged were short. He wont get that in international cricket.

sharjeel khan

Faheem ashraf

aamer yamin

hasan ali (he is turning into a SERIOUSLY good batsman / striker/ finisher

fakhar zaman

My Current picks amongst youngsters are

1. Fahim Ashraf

&

2. Nasir Nawaz.

I am unable to comprehend as to why Nasir wasn't picked for either PSL or Pak U19 Wc squad ¿

Peshawar Zalmi's Arif Khan is again some one to look out for. Hope he has a great PSL. Why he is not part of Pak U19 world cup squad is also questionable :-/

From what i say in the recent National T20 cup and previously, some are suspended from participating by PCB due to PSL row

Shahzaib Hassan
Sharjeel Khan
Khalid Latif
Sohail Khan [the bowler, hits cleanly and far]
Nasir Nawaz [U-19 prodigy]
Bilal Asif
Faheem Ashraf
Sohail Akhtar
Sohaib Maqsood
Fakhar Zaman

Surprised no-one has mentioned Asif Ali and Mukhtar Ahmed.

Wrote this before PSL3, when Asif was being written off as a hack.

He's showing his class today on debut, and his critics have suddenly disappeared...

Has to be Fauji, the way he comes out of the crease is just wow! But somehow that remembers me of Younis Khan.

:yk2

Afridi would still be in the top 3 cleanest hitters of Pakistan, speaks more about lack of talent than Afridi's ability. He also uses head and shoulders shampoo twice a day, so maybe the cleanest :afridi

Asif Afridi is very unlucky Cricketer to be honest.

Skill wise he is in same league as top Cricketers from KPK but because he is from FATA hence he got limited opportunities in domestic cricket.

Today he almost won the match for FATA vs Khi had Rehan & Usama Mir played sensibly and as per merit of the ball.

Rehan and Usama scored 3 runs of 11 balls when asking Rate was 13 runs per over.

Fata lost by 7 runs with Asif Afridi stranded on 33* (21) balls.

As I have described previously on this forum Asif is a six hitting Machine. I first saw him play 5 years ago in Ramzan T20 Cricket in Khi where he hit gigantic sixes.

In National T20 Cup he has scored 51 runs of 33 balls in 2 innngs including 5 sixes.

In QEA (FC) 2018 he hit 12 sixes in 7 FC matches where Umar Akmal hit 11 sixes in 10 FC matches.

While in QEA (List A) 2018 he hit 18 sixes in 6 innings whereas Umar Akmal hit 22 sixes in 10 matches.

Do not know why no PSL franchise picked Asif Afridi.

He smashed everything towards his pads or on the leg stump for six, but couldn't get bat on ball when the ball was outside off. Not sure if that's an anomaly or how he usually bats. Have seen him hitting a lot over mid-wicket, but not sure about his overall game.
