Definition of a blind umpire!

David Boon is plumb LBW, yet not given out by the umpire

I believe that pre-DRS bowlers more than batsmen often suffered at the hands of 'andhay' umpires.

Hence not fair to compare bowlers or batsmen across generations

Great bowlers Pre-DRS(until 2008) would have taken more wickets in the current era with the help of technology

Probably even David Boon was surprised by that decision, LOL.

Gayle wins easily.

Gayle wasn't just a T20 legend. He was pretty good in Test and ODI also.

Similar run scoring ability. Both have proven ability on different pitches around the world but this is an easy one. Gayle's strike rate was 50% higher. Massive difference!

Both borderline good Test batsman. And I say that despite Gayle having 2 triple centuries.

Different eras so TBH, this comparison is not right to make... Today, gayle takes the lead

I just think Boon achieved more against truly great fast bowling, the 1993 West Indies vs Australia series is an example
