ABD is loved by everyone ..:)
Most loved player in the world

I don't like him. Just indifferent towards him.

I find his batting and shots ugly, breathtaking but ugly. I prefer classical and orthodox batsman with a great gift of timing and finesse.

Nothin beats saeed anwar.
Only started watching cricket bcoz of him in 1999.
Still remember trying to copy his stance, shots ( even the smirk on his face when he was in his stance) in the reflection of my tv screen.
Didnt hv a mirror in a spatious place back then.

When he used to get out, i usually lost all interest in the match.

Such was the craze back then and it hurts when today, the same jersey is worn by dross like saad nasim, fawad n what not.
Bcoz of this i dont blame my little bro being part of a younger discourse that only follows n values the epl, champions league and bundesliga.

Cricket aint a craze or passion anymore

I don't think so ..cricket is still far more popular and passionate sports ...bundesliga has very few supporters , most of Pakistani football supporters only watxh el classico , fifa wc and uefa champs league knockouts ..thats it no one bothers watching the entire football league and rightly so xcept epl all are too predictable ...crkt is in our blood a defeat hurts and win. Gives real happiness... Unless we get a decent football team there is no chance that passion for crkt dies

I agree on the the football assessment about el classico n stuff as i didnt go into detail on that in my post.
but the argument on cricket is in our blood is false.
That is simply a discourse that is getting obscelete now .
This used to be the case in the 90's up till the early 2000's when we had very little entertainment alternatives. football is only followed by the rich folk( most of em wannabees) and cricket has predominantly been persued by the lower strata.
the boom in telecommunication has meant that even this demographic has found other ways to keep themselves busy.

With parties(for the lower class), brothels and other forms of night life banned, these people r just busy on their phones looking for a hook up.
I hv seen so many examples around me with guys who just gave up playing coz they were too excited about a new phone number they had got hold off

With smartphones getting cheaper and facebook becoming more accessible, expect this to increase.
Amidst all this, pak cricket is on the decline which doesnt help matters. expect interest to dwindle further

Got a thing for all-rounders?

Yeah I like those aggressive players who are the lynchpins for their sides and who provide good entertainment.

People might look at Sanath, Klusener and Flintoff's stats and wonder what all the fuss is about. But they were tremendous to watch.

I like dull, safe players. Players who don't take many risks and hit the ball along the ground.

Yes it's England.

Any particular reasons? Do you / have you ever lived there? Just wondering, never heard any cricket fan having England as their favorite neutral team, it used to be Pakistan or West Indies, now a lot of them have South Africa and NZ

English team is basically a World XI they have 3-4 Englishmen , 2-3 South African , 1-2 kiwis , 1-2 guys from Caribbean and 2-3 Asians , so Mamoon loves each team therefore he supports "england"

Mamoon seems to enjoy being different.. going against the popular opinion just for the sake of it..

Yes, half of my family are British Pakistanis and I've spent a lot of time there, most of the long summer holidays of my life.

Mamoon seems to enjoy being different.. going against the popular opinion just for the sake of it..

Well, don't be judgemental before knowing the actual reason just because someone else said so, even though he does not know me.

I can't quite comprehend how Du plessis can be your favorite player in a team consisting of De Villiers, Amla and Steyn.

I can't quite comprehend how Du plessis can be your favorite player in a team consisting of De Villiers, Amla and Steyn.

Well then you have to improve your comprehension skills. Liking a player doesn't necessarily have to do with the quality of the player. You can like an average player (not implying that Faf is average) based on his batting/bowling style, his attitude, a certain performance etc. There can be many reasons.

I don't like de Villiers because of his batting style. Yes it's breathtaking and entertaining but I prefer classical, orthodox batsman. Amla has one of the ugliest batting stance I have seen and is a very boring cricketer, while I don't like Steyn's action and the fact that he does not bowl in-swingers with the new ball.

Not that I really like Faf, but for me he's the most likable SA cricketer.
