Hafeez is out of PSL4. Who should replace him? (Would need to be someone from domestic cricket presumably.)

Thoughts?

Want to see someone young, but the chances of player replacing him are along the lines of riffatullah, fawad, khurram etc. Would Love to see someone like Saif Badar and bat at 4.

Qalandars have the weakest batting line-up in the PSL and total reliant on ABD to fire which is not easy on these type of wickets.

They don't have anyone who can reliably score fast and has all the shots, strokeplay.

Except AB.

So need to think of that kind of batsman. Not these saif badars, saad nasims, Anwar alis, Jaahids.

Unfortunately for them nobody of that kind is available in Pakistan right now and the few are taken by other teams.

Like Talat, Amin, Umar akmal. Which they let go lool.

Since there bowling is doing well, maybe they can draft in another foreign batsman. Maybe look at someone from the BBL. But they have to be willing to come to Pakistan. Play Umair Masood as WK and play a foreign batmans. Right now I would stick with Agha Salman until they bring in replacement.

Now their foreign stars are arriving, this is probably the best XI from their squad:

1. Fakhar
2. Sohail
3. Haris
4. AB (f)
5. Umair Masood
6. Corey Anderson (f)
7. David Wiese (f)
8. SSA
9. Haris Rauf
10. Rahat Ali
11. Sandeep (f)

Openers get off to a flyer
3-5 bat the middle overs
6-7 can finish the innings off

Still a long tail but not much can be done about that, unless they come up trumps with their replacement (the brief seems to be a middle order bat who can bowl a bit). Abdullah719 bhai do you have any ideas? I keep going back to Saif Badar as he fits the brief, but doubt they would go for someone young.

This line up has only one spinner so Agha Salman needs to be accomodated somehow. Rahat has been bowling well otherwise Hassan Khan could have replaced him adding LQ a bit of batting depth

Rahat's good form has messed things up, lol. Hassan can come in for him according to the pitch.

Haris also provides spin option so Agha isn't necessary IMO.

Adil Amin could be like to like replacement but there is nothing Adil Amin can do that Agha Salman can't do better mak36

Don't know whether Haris 's knee would allow him to bowl. I believe he shouldn't risk bowling for a couple of months

Good suggestion, but agree re Agha Salman (even though Agha has been in terrible form with the bat recently).

They already have Saad Ali in their squad too.

As mentioned above, their biggest problem is trying to fit all four of their foreign players whilst trying to maintain balance.

Hasan mohsin or Amin yamin, I am a fan of Amin's batting but he should give up bowling in the death

If they're looking for another spin bowling allrounder, then what about Kashif Bhatti. A good bowler and useful hitter at the end...

This year teams can make trades for players that haven’t played can’t they?
If that’s the case, they should try to get Aamer Yamin back and trade off one of their other players

It's just come to me. Kamran Ghulam would slot in nicely and adds a bowling option too.

Even if they sign Kamran Ghulam, dropping Rahat seems to be the only way to get balance to the side. Seems harsh though lol.

1. Fakhar
2. Sohail
3. Haris
4. AB (f)
5. Kamran Ghulam
6. Umair Masood
7. Corey Anderson (f)
8. David Wiese (f)
9. SSA
10. Haris Rauf
11. Sandeep (f)

Batting until eight
6.5 bowling options

Two pacers
Two spinners
Two medium pacers
Haris can bowl overs if fit (so can Fakhar and Sohail but not counting them).

Bro, Don't get your hopes high there is a better chance of someone like khurram manzoor or riffatullah.

I hope people don't laugh at my suggestion but I do think Bilal Asif could be a handy T20 player

Let them play Haris Sohail and Saad Ali. No replacement needed for bits and pieces.

The issue is how do they play Haris and Saad whilst also playing four foreign players. Would have to drop one of the domestic players, (most likely Rahat) so this would be your XI:

1. Fakhar
2. Sohail
3. Haris
4. AB (f)
5. Saad/Agha
6. Umair Masood
7. Corey Anderson (f)
8. David Wiese (f)
9. SSA
10. Haris Rauf
11. Sandeep (f)

Alternatively they could drop Sohail Akhter, but don't see that happening:

1. Fakhar
2. Haris
3. AB (f)
4. Saad/Agha
5. Umair Masood
6. Corey Anderson (f)
7. David Wiese (f)
8. SSA
9. Haris Rauf
10. Sandeep (f)
11. Rahat/Hassan Khan

All three XIs I have posted above have much better balance, but it requires them to think about balance and dropping players who have performed pretty well. Let's see if they do it...

What are your thoughts on a swap between Mohammad Hafeez and Bilal Asif? The latter will probably bat in the lower order but will certainly provide a good bowling option?

They already have Hassan Khan as SLA bowling AR, the role Ghulam is supposed to play (I know Ghulam is a much better batsman than Hassan but if Lahore management were aware of it, they would have picked ghulam instead of Hassan as both were in silver category)

Devcich and delport are two useless foreign players holding on LQ for long time. They shud have released devcich as well.

From the current team

Haris in for devcich
Saad in for Agha

Brendan can give another chance.

Foreign players abdv , Corey, brathwaite and taylor are the good ones.

Hardus, wiese, devcich should have been released long back. Isn’t Dwayne bravo joining LQ?

Bilal is a good bowler, especially in white ball. But don't trust his batting and LQ need someone who can stabilise things in the middle order.

Delport is now with IU.

Brathwaite has been called up by Windies.

Bravo is with QG.

Personally, would prefer Wiese (he is a new signing for LQ) ahead of Taylor who has been useless.

Problem with LQ is they went for too many "flashy" players with limited availability.

Would play KG as a batsman who bowls. As you have mentioned, Hassan can't play that role.

Also Hassan was a swap rather than a direct pick.

I know delport is with IU, I’m saying they shud have released devcich as well not just delport only.

Wiese is another Hardus. Too many bits and pieces. Except AB, NARINE, COREY & Carlos rest are all there to make the numbers.

IF someone from Lahore Qalandars management is reading this, please find a replacement for Devcich, absolutely crap batsman with a Shoaib Malik like strike rate.

Should bring in Naved Malik and move Zaman down to no. 3.

He may not be the youngest, but he can muscle the ball and hit sixes.

Not many youngsters coming through the ranks, who can hit the pacers for sixes.

Mukhtar Ahmed can be good to open with Fakhar Zaman. They are struggling in the lower midle order and Sohail Akhtar looks in good touch so he can go back there and help them.

Zeeshan Malik, Mukhtar Ahmed, Saif Badar and Kamran Ghulam can be good options.

Ali khan should replace hafeez, because lahore qalandars is in need of a big hitter in the lower order.

Ali khan is not only a hitter infact he is quite capable to build a innings and then the most important thing what all of our batsmen lack is to change gears. Ali khan posesses this skill.

With corey anderson and david wiese available for the coming matches. Lahore qalandars can actually put together a very balanced team.

My team will be:

1 fakhar zaman
2 sohail akhtar
3 gauhar ali wk
4 ab de villiers c
5 corey anderson
6 ali khan
7 david wiese
8 sandeep lamichane
9 shaheen shah afridi
10 rahat ali
11 haris rauf

Would they go for a younger guy? How old is this Ali Khan?

Ali khan is quite experienced and is 29 years of age.

It is a shame that players of the caliber of ali khan and naveed malik go unnoticed, because these 2 are made for this format.

Ha... All you guys know nothing about Cricket! Not a single person mentioned the 'obvious' choice of Salman Butt.

He can Spot and Fix the batting problems of this team!

Lolz picking a opener while the problem lies in the middle order and lower order.

First 2 matches the openers provide you with a start, but the middle order doesnt capatalize on that and collapse. One match the openers failed and all of the sudden the problem lies at the top🤣🤣

What they do then is pick a bawa buddah to give the so called stability at the top. Challo stability de bi di. Lets say the openers give u a good start 80 runs in 8 over for example.

After that ab comes in and gets out what then? Then the same problem ll repeat its self.

Moral of the story is that lahore qalandar need strong middle order batsmen who can change gears in the later overs. Salman butt is not the solition.

The problem is no 5,6 and 7.

Bringing sohail akhtar down the order is also not a solution, bcz he cant provide u stability. I have seen ali khan play and build his innings. He is the best option.
