Who will it be? :hafeez

Want babar to do well and get to no1 in ODI rankings he isn't going to get a better chance

^^^hopefully not selfish runs! He has to prove his worth in this series!

Fakhar, timid batsmen would as well see knicking deliveries behind the stumps

Hopefully Haris sohail will get recalled instead of hafeez and will score heavily during series.

Yeah, counterproductive and selfish runs.

6 out of his 7 ODI hundreds have come in wins.

His SR is the simiar to/if not better than the likes of Root, Williamson, Smith and Amla - all of which are rated as world class batsman in the ODI format.

Let's not forget the fact that his SR is better than almost every PAK Top 7 batter, not to mention he plays for a dud batting line up where his wicket could be the difference between a loss and a defeat. Ever since he's assumed responsibility of the No.3 position , his game has had to adapt as he is now the pillar of the batting line up. Case in point, during the initial stages of his career in NZL, ENG he was a much more aggressive player, maintaining a SR of 100 throughout his innings.

Of course, he is not without faults but it is all too easy to hover over scorecards and check SRs then label a player's runs counterproductive and selfish. It is all the more ridiculous when you consider some of the dross that has batted in the PAK top order over the last couple of years - a 23 year old No. 3 batsman ranked No.4 is something that Pakistan hasn't seen in years.

No but 58/86 stats are useless, let's bring back Boom Boom and Umar 'Dynamite' Akmal.

He lost us two games in Australia trying to tuk tuk while chasing targets over 300.

His performances on that tour were most selfish ones you'd ever see

Babar the accumulator is my pick for this spot. he will stay at the crease, milk the bowling and gather the most runs in his kitty. I am sure he will bat at an appropriate strike rate to match the situation as well. Here's hoping babar gets more name and fame in this series

Babar..

Fakhar is too unpredictable plus there's a chance he'll get exposed in NZ due to his horrible head position and lack of balance unless he has worked on his technique ofcourse:fz

Fakhar - more in hope than any other reason! He needs to resurrect his failing reputation in a hurry or he will be discarded.

he did not it was bowling and batting around him......can u see match situation..the last match was a lost battle so no worries but he knows his limitation and play accordingly..he is not kohli or warner remmeber.

I expect Babar Azam to get some runs this series and also hope that Fakhar gets some runs.

Akmal aur Afridi ko kon bula raha hai :uks

People need to stop overhyping babar. Yet to play a match-winning knock against a good bowling attack.

seems like fakhar is going to be our best batter in the series.. my prediction is gonna be true..

He’s nowhere near Kohli or AB in ODIs, but his runs aren’t all counterproductive and selfish either. That was a sweeping statement if there ever was one.

Just watched Fakhar's batting in the tour game, he really has worked on his technique especially his balance, expecting him to score big this series and quiet pleasing to see our players actually improving to suit the international standards unlike a certain someone:shezzy2

Where did u watch this?

Hard to read all these comments about Babar Azam. As I’ve said before Pakistani fans are not patient at all. Babar Azam is the best batting talent we have had in a long time. He will be our future and for him to improve his game he has to be given time and the backing of fans.

SR may be an issue, but he is scoring runs atm, which is the most important thing. He batting SR obviously needs to be worked upon, but it won’t happen over night.
For me Babar can continue to play the anchor role for now, but over the next few T20 series and PSL look to play more attacking.
Gradually this will improve his SR.
But for heaven sake please be patient with our young talent

Fakhar it will be . I saw him batting in the warm up match and he was stroking the ball pretty well hope he will continue his form into the odi series

It has to be Babar Azam as the rest of the Pakistan batting line up has been inconsistent.

I went for Zaman due to the small boundaries. If he can see off the first few overs he will go berserk.

These conditions and small boundary lengths will suit Fakhar, but Babar has been an absolute run machine. So tough to pick between the two of them.

I feel Fakhar is the guy who will shock us all

Babar can still outscore Fakhar but Fakhar is looking very confident

Fakhar comes back for next game and he will be back in the reckoning

Please add this to the polls too ....(DOTs) and my money is on "dots"

Hasan Ali and Shadab seem like good candidates!

Hafeez has bought himself time until the World Cup unfortunately... TBH I don’t mind him coming in at #6 where he can’t do his tuktuk.

Fakhar Zaman 150 (4 games)
Mohammad Hafeez 148 (5 games)
Shadab Khan 140 (5 games)
Haris Sohail 113 (2 games)
