We all knows how Sharjeel came under limelight and that was obviously due to that brilliant hundred in the PSL
which give him a comeback selection in national side. Same with the Hasan Ali who bowls very well in that tournament and that draw the attention of selectors. He was then in selection panel radar.

My point is if there was no PSL these guys may be won't have given chance in Pakistan team and they would have never represent Pakistan. May be there are also many other young players who get ignore for their domestic performance from selectors. So this is perfect chance for them to show there talent and grab the opportunity to play for Pakistan.

Should we hope to find this year's Sharjeel , Hasan or cupboard is bare?

Just look at the teams, 95% of them are already known players and 'new' names are few and far in-between. Even if new names are in the squad I doubt they would get more than a game or two

Fakhar zaman
Ghulam muddasar
Saif badar
Khushdil shah
And many more i have said 2 or 3 players that won.t be that tough to find but you are right newbie unlikely to get chance but i have higher hopes from Brendon to give us a young player from qalandars

With just 5 teams in the competition, where are the slots to introduce fresh faces. Sadly no.

From the new faces, I'm looking forward to seeing Mudasser, Ammad, Fakhar, Hussain Talat, Kashif Bhatti and the emerging players from both KK and QG (completely unknown players).

Chalo hopefully he would get a chance. If he was in Islamabad United then he would have gone on paid vacation to UAE.

lol same feeling for united young players like shadab khan, hussain talat, amad butt don,t think misbah

will bother to give these guys any game but without russell who is injured we might see amad or hussain as

a allrounder

Hopefully, last time round Misbah dropped Babar, Amin, Kamraan Ghulam after giving each one or two chances and replaced with oldies.

search one bowler similar to umar gul of 2009 and a right arm 145 kph pacer and yes also one hard hitter @ 6 please

He is a solid batsman as well. I saw him bat in a school tournament a couple of years back and was impressed. Umair masood the under 19 wicketkeeper batsman played alongside him for beaconhouse nazimabad and both were impressive

looking forward to watching Fakhar Zaman against international calibre bowlers.

hopefully Pakistan will get a pace bowling all rounder.

Hussain Talat- will be watching him to see if he has increased his pace.

Not sure about young players but am interested to see how Maqsood, Haris Sohail, Shehzad, Fakhar Zaman do

Watching out for the progress of Fakhar Zamaan, Usama Mir, Shadab Khan, Shazaib Hasan, and Mohammed Asghar.

Mohammad Irfan Jr, Ghulam Mudassar, Saif Badar, Khusdil Shah, Aamad Alam and Aamad Butt.

Yes PSL is played by afridi, misbah, malik, hafeez, ajmal and their friends...

Watch out for Hussain Talat for Islamabad.

No.

If I were you I wouldn't get my hopes up on him. He was the least impressive member of the fast bowling contingent from the Lahore Qalandars Development Team.

who are the other impressive fast bowlers?

Muhammad Umar, Mudassar Riaz, Ehtisham Sultan and Mohammad Irfan Jr

is the ambidextrous yasir jan gonna get a chance?

He did not play a single match in either Australia or in Rising Stars tournament in Pakistan. I do not know how it can be said that " He was the least impressive member of the fast bowling contingent from the Lahore Qalandars Development Team " ?

I was at the LQ's indoor net session.

I'm expecting Mohammad Asghar to make waves again. Kushdil Shah to hopefully bang a couple of good scores.

What was he lacking?
Consistency.

He has the ingredients to play at the international level but requires at least another 12-18 months with a qualified coach to polish the basics and mechanics of bowling.

Yeah, he's very raw. His mechanics are pretty good. They shouldn't mess around with that too much. Just needs game experience, 2 seasons of domestic at least.

I am more concerned about pacer all rounder and looking forward to see Amir Yameen how he reacts.

I don't think we'll see too many emerging talents but I'm sure Shahzaib Hasan will emerge to be one of the best players and hopefully break into the Pakistan team. Not sure if he's really "emerging" but mark my word, he will set PSL'17 alight.

hopefully someone with a flat belly. I dont want to see some uncle with a giant belly hitting shots and fielding like my grandmother..I dont want to see a twenty year old with a belly the size of an uncles bowling dibbly dobblers and being lauded as some new wasim or imran. I dont want to see a fat overweight twenty year old opening the batting and hitting fours but not being able to run a few yards..

I want to see someone with some dynamism and heart.

Sharjeel Khan made his mark in PSL 2016 - Who will emulate him in the 2nd edition of the tournament?

The PSL was the main reason Sharjeel was selected in the team especially that playoff. He was always the best Limited Overs opener in Pakistan but the PSL put him on the map. Which players do you think will push for selection in this edition. Personally, I hope Umar scores heavily again at the top of the order to persuade the management to play him there. I also hope Haris and Shahzaib score heavily with bat. Also looking forward to see Mohammad Irfan and hope he gets a game. Not the giant. Usama is another exciting prospect and I like the fact that Mickey will get to work closely with him.

Shahzaib Hasan, hopefully.

Will be keeping a very close eye on him, Haris, and Asghar.

Yamin's still in PZ, eh? If so, hope he shines too.

Hearing a lot about Shahzaib Hasan hope he can do well, I remember when he was initially selected back in 2009 he was pretty mediocre, if I remember correctly.

Although if you ask me I am really looking forward to the following players in the PSl -

Amir Yamin he looks like a promising young talent who could be a power hitter lets see how he does this tourney.
Fakhar Zaman looks a explosive opener who can bat with Sharjeel in LOI's hope he does well.
Zafar Gohar probably the guy I think that can become our LOI's strike spinner in the middle overs, he is also decent with the bat and can notch up a few runs with the bat as well, a handy cricketer.
Also Haris Sohail is coming back I hope he performs and gets back into the national side asap we need him at 4.

Hopefully some of the youngta-beauties at LQ do well.

I have high hopes fot Saif Badr and Mohammad Irfan Jr if they get a game

Isn't Umair Masood from pindi? How did he play with Hasan Khan for beaconhouse nazimabad?

One thing is for sure, Sharjeel is going to thrash the bowlers this season. He will be high on confidence after tasting Starc and co. and doing very well there. He will be a prized wicket for the teams.

Whoever it is needs to go into the ODI squad asap (not much T20 happening)

karachi kings have picked him in place of injured abrar ahmed

sad for abrar but he needs some domestic experience ..shinwari is good addition to their fast bowling...they just need to give a chance to usama mir....they lack a wicket taking spinner in middle overs..

Impressed with both spinners today, Hasan Khan and Shadab Khan.

If Shadab gets a long run in the Islamabad team, he'll win the award.

Hasaan can challenge him though. Irfan jr as well, if he bowls like he did in his first match. We haven't even seen Usama, Khushdil and Talat along with others.

I hope all youngsters perform well so we can have some youngsters in the national teams.

For that to happen teams need to drop old players and pick youngsters.

If Hafeez, Umar Akmal and Rizwan keep batting like they did in the last series, they will be dropped, their stats are bang average as well, except Malik, his stats for the national team will bail him out, he always gets away by performing in the pressure free games.
Wahab and Rahat shouldn't be in the ODI team as well.

This is one strong reason to have a sixth team in next PSL. Youngsters are not getting enough chances.
they should make a new rule that every team gotta have at least 2 U23 players in the starting line up and at least 5 in the squad.
It's likely that they add another team for next year.

Looking forward how Fakhar Zaman respond against Karachi kings bowling line up, he will be the one who may get a chance in near future in the absence of sharjeel.
