Srilanka I wouldn't underestimate, Hatrhusingha is a tactician. The field settings he put for England was quite interesting, caught England off guard and choked them to death. But then again you guys have Kohli who sent Malinga to a mental asylum, and when he came back he had a beer belly. Looks like he is back from Rehab, Sri Lanka vs India will be big this time :murali
 
Guys, Sri lanka can surprise us all. They have matches against West Indies and South Africa which they can both beat and they can sneak a win against India too. So Srilanka will be sitting on 10 points ahead of India clash, Imagine Pakistan winning the remaining matches and only missing out to Srilanka.

Also, remember if India wins all their remaining matches and in their last match against Srilanka they can throw the match to face them in the semis :inti
 
India will drop 1 match for tactical reason. They are the only team who have more games than any other.
I fear they will try and knockout Pakistan by strategically loosing a game against Bangladesh. Let's hope I am wrong.

That is quite foolish thinking by you, probably Indian's are much smarter. They can calculate that regardless of BD wins or losses, it doesn't matter for PAK - they have to win 3 games and one of those 3 are against BD. Also, before IND-BD game, there is one more game PAK-NZ, first focus on that one to win, otherwise for PAK's cause IND-BD game will be academic.

For this dirty tricks, try to go back 10 years and watch PAK V AUS 2010 CT game in SAF ...............

India don't care if Pakistan qualify. Maybe their fans do but the Indian players probably don't Pakistan as a threat and don't fear any team.

The game you are referring to happened in 2009 and no there were no dirty tricks involved. We had them on the ropes at 176-7 and even they only just crawled over the line by winning by 2 or 3 wickets.

Still fondly remember Asif’s magic ball to Cameron White :)

I have seen that game by every ball, and I have seen PAK player's body language - but nothing can be proved, so I asked him to watch the game's last few overs.

If we drop one game after winning both WI and Eng, we will be in the 2nd (or 3rd) spot behind Aus at number 1 as they probably win their remaining 2 games. We will then face NZ in the semis, not BD or SL, and AUS gets free pass to finals.
 
Can pakistan meet india again in semifinal?

Yesterday pakistan win over newzealand, and two easy matches against bangladesh and afghanistan ,its safe to say pakistan will reach semifinal. India who is having weaker opponent in upcoming game ,most likely stay top in the group. As australia will finish second and newzealand will finish third.So can we see again pakistan vs india in semifinal? Please discuss
 
England have a point to prove on Sunday. This not as clear cut as of yet.
 
Nz beats Aus and Eng
Aus loses to Nz and SA
Ind loses to Eng beat Bang lose to SL
Pak beat Afg and Bang
Pak vs NZ semifinal Pak wins
Aus vs Ind semifinal Ind wins
Pak vs Ind final

You are absolutely correct unlike most people here who keep dreaming as opposed to facing reality.
Bangladesh have a better chance to qualify as opposed to Pakistan... They can beat both India and Pakistan and make the final four. Its not impossible because they are playing very well. No matter what India, Australia and England are the top 3 who will be in. New Zealand and Bangladesh will be fighting for that final spot.

Well-deserved. They have been the fourth best team after India, Australia and England.
 
NZ have been a long way below their best this world cup, especially with the bat.

It would be a hilarious troll of the tournament if they suddenly started playing up to their potential now
 
Congrats to NZ. Setting emotions aside, they are the Deserving semi finalists. However, they need to get their act together. 3 losses in 3 games going into the semis is never good.

This is the bare minimum of NZ in most worldcups (reaching Semis somehow)! Last time they went one step up to reach the finals. But to be honest they looked much stronger in the last edition (Won a group game against Australia too!) I thought they will win it last time (like Sri Lanka in 1996 with slight home advantage!) Also they had a dream run in 1992 only to be stopped by Pakistan!

But I don't have much hopes with them this time. If they go on to win, it will be a kind of fluke - probably if they get some bowler friendly pitches/overcast conditions wherein their bowlers can come into play! But they deserve a WORLD CUP for all their efforts over the history!

How can you honestly say NZ have had a better world-cup than Pakistan? We beat two of the semi-finalists they have only beaten SA (top 5 sides).
 
New Zealand will now proudly partake in a predictably one-sided semi-final against Australia! (The Aussies have their number in KO games)

In the other likely semifinal between India and England whichever side bats first will win imo
 
I think an Australia vs India final is coming up.

With Australia to win it as India won the group match.
 
Most people on this thread were kinda right. The only shocker was South Africa.
