Do you think the top wicket-taker will be any one of the fast bowlers, or will the spinners have any chance to excel on Australian soil? Please vote and share your opinion.

Probably Shaheen, but I think Mir Hamza is a sneaky pick to do well. You don't need express pace in Australia, just bowl a tight line and length without giving away any freebies and I think he can be that guy

Hamza will be murdered to the point the captain will be afraid of bringing him on.
A more likely scenario yeah. The real question should be who in the team can breach 5 wickets across the entire series. None of our bowlers give me any confidence

Last time, Shaheen was our best bowler despite being a novice at that time. This time, Shaheen looks jaded but he is still better than all other bowlers we have.

Shaheen or Hasan will be my guess.

Choices are so limited!

Have gone with Shaheen but will be happy if Khurram Shehzad can prove me wrong

I think Amir Jamal, if he is played..might be a surprise package as well.. he is quick..has good yorkers, and is aggressive.. i think he might play the role..management had envisioned for Haris Rauf ..infact he can be a much better option than Haris Rauf…in that role..as he is used to bowling long spells, also… and has more FC experience.

i think..Shaheen is an overrated bowler.. he is good with only new ball.. havent ever seen him taking wickets with old ball in tests… even in recent Srilanka sries..Shaheen was good with new ball only…didnt take any wickets with old reversing ball…. naseem Shah was much betteroverall in different phases of the game.. Also, Shaheen has lost quite a bit of pace now..so his effectiveness with new ball will also diminish

I don't think amir jamal will be the top wicket-taker, For me it might be Shaheen or Abrar. Abrar is a surprise package on those pitches.

I’m more interested in how many times Pakistan’s bowling attack will get all 20 wickets in a Test.

Since 1999 Pakistan has played away 9 Tests versus Australia and taken all 20 wickets once. And they lost that Test too, apart from the other 8.

Mir Hamza could be the highest wicket taker as he is the most expereince bowler from domestic cricket and his line and lengths are very accurate.

Shaheen Afridi.

After Australia post 500 odd we’ll see them throw their wickets away and that’s when Afridi picks up his pointless 5-fer.

I'm going to be basic and say Shaeen. On those bouncy pitches he could be a handful

I’ve taken a punt and gone for Noman Ali

He took wickets on Pindi roads against Australia, I back him to take some more if he plays

This attack will fail to even get 5 wickets per inns so it doesn't matter who is the top wicket taker

Shaheen Afridi - our only decent threat, but still maybe not 100%

Mir Hamza - if he can consistently bowl in the 135-140 range, he has the ability to be threatening, but anything below that he will be easy pickings. Has loads of domestic experience and knowledge but still raw in tests

Khurram Shehzad- similar to Mir Hamza, has shown the ability to bowl in first class but very raw and gonna be a tough debut if he plays

Amir Jamal- no idea how he got selected for the team, pretty poor overall numbers in first class cricket and only played 2 games this season

Hassan Ali- hope is pace is up and his test reformation is real

Mohammad Wasim Jr- another dumb pick based on psl selection

Faheem Ashraf- i think he's solid as a third or fourth pacer who can keep it tight but I don't think he can break through regularly

Nauman Ali- absolutely need him to keep it tight on one end, i think he'll be fine but won't be consistently threatening

Abrar Ahmed- huge test for him if he plays, first series in non helpful conditions, don't expect him to do well

Masood ponders Pakistan bowling options for first Australia Test

New skipper Shan Masood has revealed the two quicks that are almost certain to feature for Pakistan in next week's first Test against Australia, but says the make-up of the rest of his bowling line-up won't be determined until he sees the conditions in Perth.

Pakistan's bowlers are currently getting some much-needed practice ahead of their first of three ICC World Test Championship matches in Australia, with Masood's side in the middle of a four-day tour match against a Prime Minister's XI in Canberra.

Seven bowlers have already been utilised with the ball during that clash - including former skipper Babar Azam - while star quicks Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali have been rested for the contest prior to the first Test that commences in Perth on Thursday.

Masood all but guaranteed Shaheen and Hasan would return for the opening match of the crucial series, but who partners the senior duo in the absence of the injured Naseem Shah remains to be seen.

Left-armer Mir Hamza, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and uncapped quick Khurram Shahzad have all bowled well at times in Canberra and are seemingly in the mix to play, while Abrar Ahmed appears likely to get the nod as the sole spin bowling option.

While Masood admitted he had some idea what his first-choice bowling line-up looked like, he said he would wait until he arrived in Perth before finalising his XI.

"We'll only be able to decide when we get closer to the game, see the pitch, see the conditions, see where the guys are at with their fitness and their loads," Masood said.

"You have to look at the opposition as well, match-ups, or type of bowling, is huge in cricket now.

"Obviously Shaheen and Hasan are senior bowlers, they are probably pencilled in, but you want to look at everyone and give them a fair run before you make that ultimate decision.

"The permutations on the structure if the side matters as well - do we go with an all-rounder, what will the role of the spinner be?

"So there are a lot of things we are looking at and we are very glad we are playing a fixture like this."

Abrar was the joint leading wicket-taker during Pakistan's Test series against Sri Lanka earlier this year and Masood expects the inexperienced 25-year-old to play a pivotal role in Australia.

"Spinners are crucial and we've seen that with the Australian team, how good Nathan Lyon has been for a number of years," Masood said.

"A spinner plays an important role, he's very complimentary to the fast bowlers in these conditions.

"Abrar has done really well for us, he's taken a lot of wickets against good sides and we'll be hoping he does the same on this tour."

Pakistan currently lead the World Test Championship standings with an unbeaten record through their first two Tests of the new cycle and will be keen to maintain their place at the top when they take on the reigning champions in three three-match series away from home.

What has Hasan Ali done to earn an automatic selection?

Highest wicket taker will be Noman Ali if he plays all 3 tests.

Like I have said many times, our pace battery is pathetic in Aussie conditions. The only way we can take the test match to day 5 is by playing 2 spinners and 3 pacers.

Lol.

What kamal did our premier spinner Yasir Shah do there?

He averaged 100 there last time with an economy of 5 :warne

Our pace attack may not be great in tests but our spinners are 10x worse.

Pakistan's bowling is at all time low at this moment whether it is pacers or spinners they are all looking in shambles. PCB must seriously take some aggressive steps on fitness, pitches, training, age verification otherwise Pakistan cricket will not survive

Shaheen will take close to 20.
20 wickets? Across 6 innings max that's 3-4 wickets per innings, and you know that Aussies will win by an innings at least once so he'll need to be taking 5fers. I think he's got 7-9 wickets in him this tour

Good luck if hasan ali is the leader of a bowling attack. Dont see this pak bowling attack taking anywhere near 20 wickets in a test.. way better pak bowling attacks have struggled in aus. But should be a good learning curve for them. Pak should just hope none of these pacers break down bowling these test match overs..

Shaheen is the only guy who has done well and is experienced. He will take may be 14-15 wickets.

The one who was looking good has now got injured.

I am talking about Abrar Ahmed as he is the only surprise package who can trouble Aussie batsmen with his mystery spin and could be a leading wicket taker for Pakistan in this test series if he remains fit.

It's almost a moot discussion as we will take such little wickets in the series!

But if you had to choose one it'd be Shaheen

If they get a Canberra type wicket so nobody is going to be a leading wicket taker specially from Pakistan.

I think Aamer Jamal is going to be our highest wicket taker in this series. He has already bagged 10 wickets so far in this series with an economy rate of 3.98 rpo. Hope he can take more wickets for Pakistan but in winning cause.

So the debutant Aamer Jamal is leading the Pakistan Pace attack for now. He might end up with the highest wicket-taker of this series for Pakistan.

Looks like Shaheen is getting into his groove

he might be the one with the most wickets for Pakistan by the end of the series

Shaheen not playing so Aamer Jamal is the only one who could be the highest wicket taker.

I dont have any hopes for hassan ali and Mir Hamza

Only Jamal from pak is looking good and could be the highest wicket taker in this series

an explosive all rounder is in the makeing

Seems like Jamal hits the right length on Australian pitches. Seems like he has some experience playing here? He also knows you need to work a lot harder for long periods to reap rewards.

Have a look at the top wicket-takers for Pakistan at the end of the series. Nobody would have thought that Aamer Jamal would be the guy who would stand out. Mammoth tour for him both with the bowl and bat.
