So we are 10 / 11 Games into the premier league season and the Gap between Arsenal 1st (27 Points - 10 Games) and Newcastle 6th (18 points - 11 Games) is just 9 points.

Even as bad as liverpool have been they are 7th (16 points - 10 games) and just 4 points behind chelsea 4th (20 points - 10 games)

I personally think Man city will win the league. So then its who will take the other 3 spots in top 4.

6 teams fighting for 3 spots. Predictions please.

My Prediction in no particular order -

Man city Liverpool chelsea Arsenal.

1. Arsenal
2. City
3. Chelsea
4. United

You could perhaps interchange my top 2, City have all the power on the pitch but I feel the more Arsenal win, the more they will start to believe and hope is powerful. If it goes right down to the wire, I am going with Arsenal to win the league.

1. City
2. Arsenal
3. Liverpool
4. Chelsea

Spots 2-4 are interchangeable, I'm just being optimistic.

1. Man City
2. Arsenal
3. Spurs
4. Liverpool

I agree with OP on Man City winning the league. I also expect Arsenal to make top 4.

As for the other two sides, I think it will be Spurs and Liverpool.

I can't see Spurs dropping out with the front 3 they've got. Liverpool haven't been at their best this season but they're only 4 points away from top 4.

Liverpool had a good win against City over the weekend but have an uphill task. Also, they're not playing

I think all Top 5 teams + spurs will take large number of points off the other 14 teams in the league. i can see top 4 coming down to points gained in games vs each other.

The way spurs just park the bus and pray that kane and son will bail them out aint going to get them enough of those point from those games and i can see them missing out.

Can Newcastle maintain this unbelievable run? They're in 3rd place, 4 points above M United in 5th.

If they invest big with their Saudi money in Jan, there's no reason why not. On paper they are average, but Howe has got them playing greater than the sum of their parts.

I hope someone other then City do it, hopes pinned on Arsenal at the moment.

Arsenal and City are nailed on.

I think Liverpool will make it, they have that ability to go on 10-12 winning runs.

Then it's going to be 1 from Spurs, Us and Man-U. Don't think Chelsea are in a position to do so yet as Potter is still very much settling in.

If I had to call it now then I would say Spurs get that 4th spot.

Game by game Newcastle are looking better and better for it!

Level with United, 5 ahead of Spurs, 10 ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea. It will be a cracking race for top 4, especially as the latter 2 won't stay down for long I reckon.

Even the likes of Fulham, Brighton and Brentford have put themselves up near the European spots just to make it interesting

We definitely have a good chance

The Bruno injury is huge and could affect us big time, we needed a CM before his injury so getting one in is a must

Since I made that post things have changed a little, so Arsenal, City and Man-U are nailed on for top 4.

Do feel we will have a bit of a wobble at some point, just hope Spurs and Liverpool continue doing that too.

The heat is on

Arsenal v Man Utd (16:30 GMT)

And so to this season, with a rejuvenated Gunners and Red Devils both in the hunt again.

Mikel Arteta's men are very much in the box seat, five points clear at the top, with at least a game in hand on all of their main rivals.

But a stellar run of results from Erik ten Hag's team has propelled them into the mix. Last weekend, United beat champions and fellow title-chasers this season, Manchester City, as part of that run.

If we needed just that little extra to chuck into the mix, Arsenal have lost just the one league game this season. Who too? Why Manchester United of course.

We are on the home straight of the Premier League season and while the title might have become a two-horse race, there are still some highly lucrative spots up for grabs.

There are arguably six clubs fighting for the remaining two Champions League spots, with fewer than 10 games to play. Newcastle United and Manchester United are currently leading the pack in the race for Europe’s most esteemed competition, but will it stay that way?

Both Newcastle and Tottenham losing. What a day for Man United. We must win tomorrow.

Call me crazy but I wouldn't actually rule out Liverpool scraping into the CL

That's the team I actually fear the most of overtaking us and denying us a spot in the CL

They have such a kind fixture list that I can see them winning all 8 games left, which would put them on 71 points

It's then a case of whether we can get the 16 points from the 24 available

Jurgen Klopp admits top-four race is getting 'interesting' as Liverpool close gap on Man Utd

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool were discounted in the race for the top four, but six wins in a row has set up "an interesting period" at the end of the season.

Mohamed Salah's first-half goal secured a 1-0 win over Brentford at Anfield on Saturday to move Liverpool to within a point of their stuttering fourth-placed rivals Manchester United, albeit having played two games more.

Liverpool have claimed 19 points from a possible 21 since moving Trent Alexander-Arnold into a hybrid midfield role and there is now a glimmer of hope that they could salvage Champions League qualification, although seventh-placed Brighton will move ahead of Klopp's side if they win their three games in hand.

"Six games ago nobody would have thought we would be here," Klopp told BBC Sport. "We cannot do more than win football games. If Manchester United play their games in the way they want they will be seven points away and that will be really difficult to catch.

"We have to make sure we finish the situation in the best possible way."

Man Utd, who have managed one away win in their last five attempts, go to West Ham on Sunday night knowing they need nine points from their final five games to ensure a top-four finish.

Klopp is not optimistic about his side's chances but is glad Liverpool have pushed United all the way.

"Maybe it's a bit too late but better late than never," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"Imagine if [Man Utd slipped up]. I don't think they will but imagine if they did and we weren't there. We would really regret that. If United win their two games in hand, then they are seven points away and it's pretty much done.

"We know that. Brighton, if they win all their games in hand which is absolutely possible they are above us. It's an interesting period. We have to make sure we keep the teams behind us, behind us because they are coming.

"Nothing is decided and that's good."

Alexander-Arnold's rediscovery of his best form has been a key aspect of Liverpool's improved fortunes but Klopp refused to commit to keep playing the right-back in a hybrid role next season.

"It depends on the players we bring in," Klopp said. "It suits him extremely well [playing in midfield].

"The chance he set up for Darwin (Nunez) was a very special ball. He is defensively very strong, he still has to adapt to the formation because I think he struggled a bit in the last game.

"It is not him, he cannot be everywhere. Trent played pretty much all minutes in this really intense period. It's outstanding what he is doing."

Man Utd choking with Liverpool breathing down their neck.

Struggling for form and goals.

We are bottling this big time. Key players have played too many games.
Thankfully we have a week off for the next 2 weeks so ETH needs to make sure they are at it. Need 2 wins Vs wolves and Bournemouth and hopefully villa can do us a favour at anfield

I look at Newcastle's fixtures and I reckon they might slip up.

I know Man U lost as well but they have easier games remaining.

Overall, I reckon Man U and Liverpool will make top 4.

Liverpool need top 4 badly this season as they need CL money to rebuild their midfield.

Be funny if Man united missed on top 4

LFC only need a player in midfield and have the funds ready.

Utd have a game in hand and point ahead, highly unlikely they will not win most of their remaining matches.

Liverpool need more then just 1 one player in their midfield to get back to the levels of last 4 or 5 years. Your midfield is nowhere near the quality it use to be.

Milner, Hendo, fabinho are done.

Players like ox, Jones, Keita are not good enough.

So bringing in 1 player ain't going to magically transfer form that.

Plus being in europa league and having owners like FSG ain't go allow for spending that you need

Liverpool should win those, the firepower upfront is all in form and fully fit. Very surpising we didnt score more than 1 goal in the last two matches but this will change against Leicester away a week today, as their defence is non existant.

Didnt watch the Newcastle v Arsenal match. Where the gunners simply too good or were the castle poor?

Liverpool always go on these runs when required, that's why I think you need top 4. If you do you can revamp your midfield and then you will be the ones challenging city again next season.

Newcastle vs Arsenal was an open game, Newcastle dominated early on, but once Arsenal scored they took control of game and wasted a lot of easy one of one's. It was a good performance but we did conceded a lot of chances and that's ultimately caught Arsenal in other games and cost them the title.

Bruno Fernandes says Manchester United deserve a top-four finish in the Premier League after people wrote them off at the start of the season.

Newcastle fixtures: LEE (A), BRI (H), LEI (H), CHE (H) - on 65 points

Man Utd fixtures: WOL (H), BOU (A), CHE (H), FUL (H) - on 63 points

Liverpool fixtures: LEI (A), AVL (H), SOU (A) - on 62 points

Very tight race...

I said this last month and as we can see Liverpool have been on a roll, they've won 6 in a row and I think the momentum they have means they will make it 9 wins in a row and that takes them to the 71 points I mentioned

Since then we've managed 9 points from 12, which leaves us to get 7 from a possible 12

Tough game away to Leeds, prior to Allardyce I would have been very confident of an easy win but him being in the dugout changes things, firstly he'll make them a bit more solid & organised and secondly he hates us so will want to get one over us

If we fail to beat Leeds then I'm convinced Liverpool will finish ahead of us, in which case we'll need to hope Man-U have a big wobble

After beating Aston Villa in their last game at Old Trafford, Manchester United's place in the top four at the end of the season looked a formality as they were seven points above fifth-placed Liverpool with a game in hand.

Looks like the Brighton vs Newcastle game will be the pivotal one. If either side wins they should fancy finishing top 4. A draw and Liverpool would be in the box seat.

Liverpool's resurgence has come a little too late, their fate is not in their hands anymore. If they had sorted themselves a few games earlier, they should have been able to breeze past Newcastle and United.

Liverpool look good for next season as long as they get a new midfield.

Brighton will all their remaing games and they finish 70 points, Liverpool can get to 71 so it's unlikely that Brighton catch them

Massive game, win that and we are big favourites to get over the line but it's going to be a tough, like Arsenal found out and generally when we play them they tend to play us off the park

Darwin Nunez has massive potential. He has everything to be the second most prolific striker in the league after you know who.

It hasn’t been easy for him adjusting in an unsettled Liverpool side and language barrier has been a problem as well so far. Next season things could be different.

I’m tired of Jesus though. He’s fragile and mentally weak. He will never be a lethal goal scorer.

Newcastle v Brighton kicks off.

As a LFC fan, would love a Brighton win and if they play well, it could be 3 points.

Playing at home for Geordies is usually an advantage but tonight it could be pressure.

Come on Seagulls! :klopp

Newcastle winning 3-1, you need to get your prayer mat out for bournemouth now 😉.

Although Liverpool will be the favourites for europa league next season 😉

4-1 win for Newcastle - 4 points clear of Liverpool with 2 games left.

Very well fought by the Geordies. Brighton were brilliant in the 2nd half but New players put their bodies on the line. 4-1 is a little too kind to Newcastle, it was a closer game.

I never felt LFC will get CL, we were too far behind and if New get top 4, they fully deserve it.

Leicester are poor but will fight hard away to Newcastle. Chelsea are also poor but capable of an upset. Not over yet, Toons need 1 more win.

Klopp has won every trophy possible, the Europa League will finish off his collection. We will win this tournament with ease next season. :klopp

Manchester United and NUFC neck and neck at the moment

Newcastle and Manchester United are now both just one point away from securing their spots in next season's Champions League.

Manchester City and Arsenal are assured of a top-four finish, with the Magpies and Red Devils on the brink of joining them after Saturday's results.

Liverpool had made a late push into top-four contention but their run of seven Premier League wins in a row was ended by a draw with Aston Villa, allowing Manchester United to extend their lead over their rivals to three points with victory at Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Newcastle took a big step towards clinching Champions League qualification with their win over Brighton on Thursday - they remain third, three points ahead of Liverpool.

The Reds' hopes are now hanging by a thread given they have played a game more than both Newcastle and Manchester United.

The sides that finish in the top seven will secure some form of European football next season - BBC Sport takes a look at how things are shaping up.

Who can finish in the Champions League places?

Manchester City, who could win the Champions League this season, and Arsenal, with their current totals of 85 and 81 points respectively, will finish as the top two.

City will win the league if they beat Chelsea on Sunday (16:00 BST) - or if Arsenal lose to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Third-placed Newcastle and Manchester United in fourth, both on 69 points, need just one point from their remaining two matches to secure a place in the top four.

Liverpool are three points back in fifth with one game remaining.

The Reds were 12 points behind on 9 April, but their recent resurgence has kept them in the mix - while Manchester United have won only two of their past four games.

If Manchester City go on to win the Champions League, whoever finishes fifth in the Premier League will not gain qualification to next year's competition as a result.

The only circumstances under which five English teams could qualify for the Champions League is if a Premier League club wins the competition but then fails to finish inside the top four.

What about the Europa League?
The teams that finish fifth and sixth in the Premier League are guaranteed a place in the Europa League, because FA Cup finalists Manchester City and Manchester United will finish in the top six.

Liverpool currently occupy fifth position - they are eight points clear of sixth-placed Brighton, who have two games in hand, with Aston Villa behind the Seagulls on goal difference and Tottenham a further point back.

"Liverpool and Brighton remain the most likely teams to play in next season's Europa League group phase according to the Euro Club Index," said Simon Gleave, head of sports analysis at Nielsen's Gracenote.

What about the Europa Conference League?
The team which finishes seventh will go into the Europa Conference League play-offs, because Carabao Cup winners Manchester United are guaranteed at least a Europa League spot through the league or FA Cup.

That place is almost certain to go to one of the teams already mentioned in the fight for a Europa League place. However, Brentford are also still in the mix after beating Tottenham on Saturday.

Aston Villa currently sit seventh, one point ahead of Spurs, with the Bees a further point back in ninth.

How could there be eight English teams in Europe next season?

West Ham are well out of the picture for a top-half finish but have reached the Europa Conference League final.

If they win that competition they will earn a place in the group stage of next season's Europa League.

The Hammers will face Italian side Fiorentina in the final in Prague on 7 June - and are slight favourites with a 56% chance of winning the competition, according to Nielsen's Gracenote.

Manchester City wrapped up the Premier League title on the weekend and Arsenal are assured of second so there's just two places in the top four still yet to be mathematically secured.

Newcastle and Manchester United both just need one point to confirm their spots in next season's Champions League.

They have two games to do it - including Newcastle's match tonight against Leicester.

After their draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, Liverpool are three points back in fifth with one game remaining.

All sides that finish in the top seven will secure some form of European football next season.

Liverpool are assured of Europa League football at worst as they cannot finish below sixth.

Brighton cannot finish below seventh and therefore are assured of Europa Conference League at worst.

West Ham have reached the Europa Conference League final and if they win, will earn a place in the group stage of next season's Europa League. It will not take away an English place, but become an extra.
