When Pakistan were playing I remember there were decent attendances. But in this series the stands seem largely empty. Why?

Overkill of odis I imagine. They just had a home series with us and then CT

I'm not sure about stadium attendance but i can tell you for sure that 9 out 10 cricket fans in India don't care about this series. Heck even i got to know about this match going on through 'Times of India alert'.

Because of:

Kohliiiii nahi hota tugh se chase

:ashwin

stadiums are empty because WI fans probably lost interest. Their Team didn't make it to CT, so this seems like just another game.....

also because Kohli Nahi Hoga Tughsay Chase

Nobody cares about this series, really.

After a drawn series against Afghanistan featuring tediously slow run rates and a failure to win an ODI series against a top team since the summer of 2012 v NZ - wouldn't most WI fans lose patience ?

Hence we should have sent 4 or 5 players from our bench. Was ideal time to test new pacers along with a couple of young batsmen like Pant/Iyer/Samson etc. Instead we sent the same old oldies.

Maybe because it's too hot in the caribean right now

I always got the sense that the Caribbean crowds went to cricket matches more for the atmosphere than the cricket

I feel West indiese is not the only country where cricket is losing its popularity.

Oh come on. Can we stop with this constant 'cricket is dying' dialogue. There will always be teams that win and teams that lose. It's not as if every cricket match before the last decade used to be a full house.

Only old people watch cricket in West Indies. The rest only watch T20. They don't even know most of their players name. They just know the likes of Gayle, Pollard, Bravo and Narine. Cricket is several years away from being dead.

Yep cricket is dying. Losing matches may be part of the game but losing the interest in the game certainly is something which stands out. If the fans celebrate over victories & bash their team after defeat then that means the game is still alive in that nation.
I dont want to talk on behalf of west indians but i believe that they have given up to this game. Sometimes lost also put off fans interest for the game. When you are spending the whole day cheering for your team and at the end, your team loses the game then you question your self, why on earth am i wasting my time on this game that takes away my whole day? Then a person starts thinking in negative way. Thats humans Psychology. But when the team wins a person dont question how much time has he wasted in the game.

Who would want to watch the WI? They're an awfully managed team who never field all their best players together, and whose board is led by a tyrant who repeatedly runs off their best players (Gayle, Chanderpaul, the Bravos, Sarwan, Lara etc etc).

Malinga recently insulted someone and was swiftly fined, punished and the matter sorted in a matter of days. In the West Indies, the director of cricket insults players on twitter whilst perpetually banning batsmen and coaches for doing the same.

It's an ineptly run outfit and the fans have given up.

who wants to see Dhoni knocking it around at Misbah's pace..

to be honest, cricket seems like a dying sport in the WI..I mean common what on earth is Jason Holder doing at number 6...

what I honestly don't understand is that why is Kohli not rested for the series...and why did India not try a few new faces..

Kohli just looks tired to me on the field..

well even me didn't check the score sheet of the series yet. while saying I'm going to check those.

I think, the stands are empty because the probability of the Home Team losing, is very High !!!!
