Why does Sameen Gul not get the recognition he deserves?

I genuinely feel that Sameen is a candidate for the 3rd pacer in the Pak side. Shaheen Abbas and Sameen. Naseem can replace Abbas soon.

Sameen averages 16 in first class cricket after a decent sample size of 21 games and does not get any hype. I fail to understand.

Deserved to be involved in Pak test setup since the Aus tour after the retirement of Amir and Wahab. Had reasonable FC behind him as well.

Another chance for him to impress his regional head coach and national selectors with this year's QAE trophy. Regional head coaches are part of national selection panel so if he can put in a decent performance his name will be brought up for test series going forward. Upcoming tour is of NZ and plan is to take Pakistan A team as well, so if he can do decently in first few QAE trophies before Pak team's announcement he can get a chance to be atleast in the A squad.

Its not like he isnt recognized, he was part of the emerging Pakistan squad as well which wont the emerging Asia cup. Just havent been able to make it to the national setup, which I think he should have at test level.

The A squad is very good people like ehsan adil sameen gull should get to play in that

I remember him playing PSL 2018 or 2019, and he was clocking between 135 and 140 pretty consistently. Not slow at all.

My fear is there's going to be quite a few holidaymakers and I'm talking about the playing 11 not covid additions on the NZ trip. You're right about Musa, but I think if they were going to try him, it would have been better in white ball cricket.

Sameen being a bit more experienced with a good FC record, and a lot taller would have been a far more suitable pick for Australia where Musa had no impact at all.

Not sure anyone's directing the blame at Musa, it's not his fault he got selected. Him being selected for a test tour of Australia of all places with his awful FC stats ahead of bowlers with vastly superior performances is nevertheless one of the most brainless decisions I have seen in Pakistan cricket.

He had lack of pace when he was in his teenage. The last time he played in PSL and as well as when he played in emerging Asia cup 1, 1.5 year ago he was regularly in mid 130s to early 140s kph. He doesnt have a lot of variations for middle and death overs in white ball cricket but gets decent swing with the new ball and balls nagging lengths when in rhythm which can be decent in test cricket I think.

They've been meaningless forever and told us nothing. Hammad Azam's career average is incredible and probably the biggest joke of the lot.

He is a good bowler , in my opinion though pakistsn need to look for a tall fast bowler. 6 feet plus.

When you go to places like south africa and australia its really hard to find a good length for a bowler who is not tall. There is a reason that only two pakistani fast bowlers were successful in australia.This is not a hard and fast rule but it is highly likely that short bowlers will fail in these places.

Good spell from Sameen. Bowled a nice length with couple of short pitched deliveries mixed in.

However he looks to be operating around 75-80mph which is fine on green tinged wickets like that, but can he be a wicket-taking threat on flatter decks ? Still if he continues to perform, he'll deserve a run as our 3rd seamer in Tests.

He is good but I don't think he is good enough to be in Pakistan national team at the moment. The one fast bowler that should be considered before anyone else is Ihsanullah.
