Pakistan will give a befitting response to India, says FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday responded to India's blatant threat of an airstrike on Pakistan, saying New Delhi should dare not make such a blunder because Islamabad knew how to defend itself.

"Let me make it clear to Amit Shah that if India made the mistake of attacking, we will give a befitting response," Qureshi said. "If India attacks, there will be an immediate response."

The foreign minister emphasised that India should stop making empty threats.

Referring to the Indian home minister statement from earlier today, he said Shah's comments were irresponsible and that the world should take notice.

"Pakistan has always talked of peace but India is playing with the lives of innocent people," Qureshi said.

"Amit Shah should tell what he thinks of Laddakh. Why does India not launch a surgical strike on Laddakh? Why is the Indian media silent on the Laddakh issue?"

The foreign minister said the minorities in India were dissatisfied with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government but that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration "wished to shift the blame of its failures on Pakistan".

"India's economic conditions have worsened. India has reached the extreme in committing atrocities in Kashmir. And India wants to sabotage the Afghan peace process," Qureshi said, adding that New Delhi was threatening Pakistan to divert attention from its internal situation.

Even as deliberations continue with China on the dispute along the LAC in Ladakh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the Narendra Modi government has shown that attacking the country’s borders is no child’s play any longer, and the surgical and air strikes against Pakistan had shown that there would be retribution.

The article mentions "panic" and a "blackout." There is no blackout, nor is there any panic.

There may have been some Air Force activity, some people did mention that, but it's pretty common in Karachi especially near the coast. I didn't hear too much yesterday but around a week ago, there was some obvious activity for most of the night and it was pretty loud.

It must have been a routine exercise by the PAF or Pakistan Navy. IAF had nothing to do with it.

Anyone who believes that the IAF would launch an attack on Karachi using a fighter formation needs to go easy on the chillum.

About 2003 - I used to post on the old Pakistani messageboard before this one, I believe it was also owned by SAJ (could be wrong about the ownership) and I became quite a fan of guys like Miggy, Oxy, Team Slayer etc during my time there and when SAJ made this new board naturally I wanted to hang with guys mentioned above, so I joined this forum.

I am not sure why they deleted it but maybe the reason being IAF themselves called it as a rumour. My hunch is, it was an aborted operation which IAF does not want to go public. I am getting some news that Indian army is planning a strike on Dawood Ibrahim in Karachi.

Though this news maybe totally fake but It was all over twitter in the morning...both in India and Pakistan. There cant be any smoke without fire...surely

Last year India sent a passenger plane with call sign of a fighter and even before it entered Pak airspace it was met with two PAF jets to confirm if hostile and shoot it down. Thankfully our boys weren't trigger ready or could have been disaster.


And here these gangus are claiming IAF would come all the way to Karachi (which is quite a ways from the border) shoot down a F-16 and go back without being challenged.

Manifesto is something on which people vote you to power and present govt takes promises made to people very seriously. Unlike previous congress regime where manifesto was just a declaration made during election campaign and then sit on it for 5 years, BJP so far has fulfilled every promise they made to the people. Promises like Article 370, CAA, surgical strikes, ram mandir, triple talaq etc. which were unthinkable in India until 2014 but BJP fulfilled them all.

Considering Dawood is one main item left in their manifestor, I am sure they will try every possible attempt to get him before 2024. Whether it will be successful or not, time will tell.
